This man speaks truth. The head on this picture is what peak performance looks like. "Pent roof" darn near as flat as you can get, 4 valves, squish or "quench" band.

For the win, grow a pair and assemble things such that the piston literally kisses the head at full RPM and temp. Now you are the man that all the ladies need.

The Apfelbeck head is known to outperform pentroof heads due to its ability to use lager valves, better valve angles and it mixes the intake charge better.

Other head designs work way better at high rpm than the hemi head.
There is a reason motorcycle engines use 4/5 valve heads.

BMW managed to squeeze almost 1000 hp/L (pic related) out of a production car engine block on gas that way.
A about as straight intake plenum is also possible with other designs that have a larger valve area and a better combustion chamber.
