I had asian buddies in high school with 98%+ averages and they were driving new Civic Si's. Worth working your ass for... Probably not but it's still possible to have good grades and a nice car. One of my uncles finished highschool in a little over a year and still had a almost new camaro.

MG TF, only 4 cylinders but 1.8 litre 160 bhp RWD and a gear box you had to man handle. Also weighing about 1050kg meant it zipped along. My first car.

Working around limitations brings out the best in drivers. If you can't get good in an FWD, auto, 4 cylinder, you'll never be a decent driver and will eventually wrap your unskilled self around a tree.
