Why do we need autonomous cars again? Driving an automatic means you're 95% autonomous already

People are easier to control that way. Also the market for repairs and maintenance will shoot up because electric cars suffer catastrophic failures you must fix without choice.

total BS. ICE is much more complex and prone to breakdowns

Its a stats game on which the people below the overlords can win a pat on the back and a hope of a promotion maybe. The real benefit is indeed to have an easier oversight and insight over your people to be more in control.

It will be sold as an increase in health and safety because people will have a decreased chance of being in an accident and will be less stressed because they can 'relax' on their journey to wherever. Ofcourse this will mean people will now be expected to work anywhere anytime. For the manufacturers this is a boost to their economy as people will slowly but surely be forced to buy them by their governments (look at cities banning out cars like diesels or older than x amount of years its already starting here) and from there on they will be stuck with the product as there is no going back. Well shit tesla wants another rocket this week how about you quickly wire them some money. You wont? Well then your car wont start. Car wont start, you wont make it to work. Now youll lose your job and youre fucked. Better pay right? Not like people will take it to the streets because again theyll fear for losing their jobs. The digital age is here boys and it is only going to get worse. But here is the latest iCrap and invasive apps so you will be kept happy and feel important while being kept busy, stupid and easy to manipulate.

To be a devil's advocate, you can't do a lot of productive stuff when behind the wheel, besides talking.

We need autonomous cars because 98% of people can't drive for shit and keep killing each other, traffic is a waste of time, it's stupid to own such an expensive depreciating asset that you use for like 5 hours a week, and parking is a waste of space. In a perfect world, no one would need to own a car but fully autonomous cars will likely never be a reality based on current "self driving" cars that can't actually drive themselves.

"Herd Autism"

>In a perfect world, no one would need to own a car
But cars are fun. Driving is exciting. Renting or paying a service fee is an even worse waste of money.

Not a huge fan of sharing the steering wheel if you know what I mean ((germs))

> Renting or paying a service fee is an even worse waste of money.
The fuck it is. If a sort of fully autonomous taxi service existed, the average commuter could go to work for pennies on the mile. The average cost of car ownership is around $600-700 a month, which doesn't even include maintenance, and residences/offices/stores etc all have to have parking lots to store cars that aren't in use. A fully autonomous electric car rental service could charge as much as 40cpm and the average driver would still save thousands of dollars a year and enjoy shorter overall commute times.

So basically cars aren't even a factor in your bean counting but rather how to keep company workers in the company houses buying from the company store to mine company coal for the company railroads?

And the gold medal in the mental gymnastics male division goes to post A leap of logic so impressive even our judges couldn't keep up

Fire the judges then. You're counting the wrong beans.

People control is how (((they))) sell mass transit

>piss poor urban planning that forces people to pay exorbitant amounts of money for automobiles whose prices are propped up by the resulting sense of necessity is freedom.
k.

>(((they))) do piss-poor urban planning
>the solution is to let (((them))) do more central planning!
I think that's one of the standard definitions of insanity.

We're talking about municipal politics here. The issue is a lack of engagement by the public because everybody is obsessed with the general elections and shit that by the time it comes down to choosing city counselors people are politic'd out and completely ambivalent about which box they check on the sheet if they even show up at all.
You don't need big money to run in municipal elections.

No, the real problem with municipal politics is the UN sending operatives to every city council worth a damn in addition to UN-funded community development corporations coupled with communist useless idiots like yourself and corrupt police forces who will arrest you for showing up at a town hall and merely pointing out who's on the UN dole around here.

Faggot fuck face get off my fucking Veeky Forums we're here to chill and bantz about cars not your luciferian agendas.

I hope they don't issue drivers licenses to people who are this mentally ill.

>literally the same argument used to put people in gulags
gj

Yeah. With no autonomy to speak of. Have fun trying to do anything without asking your Masters if it's okay first.

>people wanting the freedom to go where they please is bad
Polish those boots a bit harder why don't ya.
