No regret yet. Maybe it'll kick in when I finally bring it in for serious work at a shop, but I'm prepared to drop some dosh for the sake of keeping a L-platform car running. I have this gut feeling that I have literally the last running Horizon. I can't find anyone else that dailies one.

meant to be

Good to see you again Horizon-san.

Did you ever figure out your rough idle/stall issue?

Glad to see that you're committed to your shitbox, it's people like us that will be the reason any of these cars will be around long enough to be vintage classics.

the issue was twofold;
>it doesn't like the cold
>you have to turn the ignition 80% instead of 100% of the way

runs great otherwise.

Just install relays and better wiring/bulbs.

Nice, as for headlights, cheapest I usually find is at walmart.com is where I get pairs of Sylvania headlights, I usually get the middle tier, they last longer than the ultra-gamma ray-deer cooker-$$$ top tier.

will look into that. Just worried that the fuse won't handle a bigger draw.

But, the Haynes manual I have has a pretty good wiring diagram. Can probably figure it out...

>buy used commodore ute with bullbar
>while bullbar was designed for the exact model, the top bar blocks about the top 40% of headlights which means very little light projection over a distance
>install driving lights on bullbar to counter this
>get defected and fined the next week
>have to remove new lights to pass inspection
>vehicle is now considered road worthy with headlights that only illuminate about 20 metres ahead.

>fined

what?

>when your early 00s shitbox hates ethanol but all the non-premium gas around you has at least 10% because you're in farm country and "muh subsidy!"

...

Have you considered getting your eyes checked?

What state are you in where you get a fine for lights on a bullbar?
I've lived in Tassie, WA and Victoria, spotlights on bullbars would have to be one of the most common mods I see.

>Smells like gasoline always
>Rear hatch stuck closed so I can't even get at my tools easily
>Suspension so bad it's like a bounce house
>Transmission starting to get super chunky, lurching into first like I tried to finger its asshole

I even got a better job hoping I could save up to afford something new. Now this fucking thing chews up twice as much money as it used to.

Yikes. Get a Corolla or Civic or something.

>shitbox 98 camry le
l
>suspension so bad I scrape the front bumper every time I go up a slight incline
Hopefully I can get rid of it soon once everything with the Coast goes through.

I'm trying.

>mfw storage unit full of go-fast parts and bolt-ons awaiting me this summer

>Abos get new Landcruisers.
What Government program gives them new Landcruisers?
Not doubting you by the way, just curious to see how they swindled that one.

They aren't given cars directly. The new landcruisers they drive are a result of government grants given to their communities. I had a diesel mechanic mate in Darwin who make a fortune stripping parts off all the abo landcrusiers that had been abandon on the side of the road for shit like flat tyres and running out of fuel.

>tfw radiator leak

>The new landcruisers they drive are a result of government grants given to their communities.
How does this work practically? Who in the community gets to drive the Landcruiser at what time?

I couldn't tell you. From what I understand, abo communities are ruled by elders, so it's probably whoever they like get a vehicle and anyone they don't like gets fuck all. They definitely aren't in short supply judging by the way they abandon them.

This.
Chances are the switch could be not conducting like it should. Running new supply wiring from the battery and using the old switch circuit to control the relay could make a big difference.

Those sealed beams can get dim though, so if there's a change the bulbs are from the 20th century it wouldn't hurt to change them. The lights on my 86 "worked" when I got it, but it's easy to see the moisture inside and a lot of the reflective material was deteriorated. Fresh bulbs made a big difference.

It’s your spark plug o rings.

Have to take valvetrain out to replace

Pay mech $200 to do it and don’t break your car you dumbfuck. This is why you’re poor
