pieces of unreliable shitty built 90s GM shit. always see them barely running and driven by trailer trash

It's not the normal one, it's the Z26

>never has any experience with a Beretta
into the trash it goes.

Check the car over for rust. If it's rust-free,and well taken care of, it should be fairly reliable.
They aren't known for many big problems.
The 3.1L V6 (automatic only) is known for intake manifold gasket issues, but this is easily done. Just get a new set of gaskets and set aside an hour at most to do it.

The 4 cylinder (a 2.3L DOHC Quad 4 high output engine, faster than the V6, but only available with a 5 speed manual) isn't known for many issues either.

So long as it's rust-free, you'll be good.

Thanks mate, i like the 90's Aesthetic look of it.

If you want fun out of it, you'll have to either get the 4 cylinder, or mod the V6 (and swap the V6 to a manual)
Milzy Motorsports has a bunch of parts for the V6, as does WOT-Tech.

Also, related video below. There were 3 different sports model names applied to the Beretta over its lifecycle. First came the GTU, named for the Beretta GTU's touring car racer. The GTU (1988-1989) was replaced by the GTZ (1990-1993), which was eventually renamed to the Z26 (1994-1996)

Damn that looks G O O D

Wow that looks cool. I like the Olds Cutlass Calais 442

Is the price $2800?

Me too, being born in the 90's kind of connects me to 90's and late 80's cars.
It's something that i have heard from a lot of people around my age.
We i think grew up seing those cars on the streets, and on TV and in movies, and when we grow up we want them because i think we think that that car will bring us back to the good old days of our childhood.
I makes us basically nostalgic of out childhood/youth.

No it's a bit more ^^

90s GM FWD performance cars are awesome don't listen to Veeky Forums.

>tfw no LQ1 to rebuild every 30k miles

Even though a lot of the cars are full of plastic interiors and feel cheap there's a strange appeal to them that I can no longer deny. Comfy. Pic related, I'd LOVE to own this

LQ1's don't go bad every 30k. Just the alternator.

t. LQ1 owner

>tfw no LQ1 to rebuild every 30k miles

Thanks for the sarcastic comment! ;)

What do i have to check when buying one?

...

LQ1's? Maintenance records. The timing belt has to be changed every 60k, and due to its placement, the alternator likes to go every 30k.

The LQ1 was never offered in Berettas though.
The LQ1 came in:
1991-1994 Chevrolet Lumina Z34
1991-1994 Chevrolet Lumina Euro3.4
1991-1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (optional)
1991-1996 Pontiac Grand Prix GT (optional)
1991-1996 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
1995-1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34
1995-1997 Chevrolet Lumina LS (optional)
1997 Chevrolet Lumina LTZ (optional. Unicorn-level rare)

Forgot pic

...

HEATHEN! That as never offered in the US of A.
Post a proper Escort.

GT? COMFY

Yup. Escort GT.
Speaking of 90's comfy icons, the Taurus SHO, the original modern factory sleeper

Hnng. I posted a thread recently about the idea of putting the SHO engine in a foxbody. Have something interesting, like an SVO.
OR a Ranger. There is a prototype that never went anywhere.

OP here:
Why is it so hard to find a lot of info about the Z26?
They are also very rare, how many did they build?
And their prices are higher then you would expect for a over 20 year old Chevy.

>They are also very rare, how many did they build?
It's not that they're rare. It's that they were prone to rust and seen as throwaway cars for a long time. People would buy them cheap, refuse to do any maintenance, and when it broke down because of the lack of maintenance, they'd just junk it and buy another.

Why are they now getting more and more expensive?
There is even this Chevy Baretta saving group that saves all the GTZ's and Z26.
The Z26 is the most valuable one.

>Why are they now getting more and more expensive?
because they're now antiques and many died a slow death to the cancer known as rust.

I like 'em though.
What are their specs, couldn't find proper ones online.

Bump for interresting car.
