Will I regret buying an old st205 celica? i want to pretend im a rally driver

will I regret buying an old st205 celica? i want to pretend im a rally driver

Probably not. It's good.

I doubt it

Will I regret buying a r33 GTS-T for like 10k AUD (something like 7-8k US)

Weren't these getting super rare or something? i've seen them come up for 6k on a reasonable condition

Possibly, stock turbo is a chuck job so when it comes to making power there aren't a lot of easy/cheap steps before replacing that.

yeah they're way cheaper than i thought they would be

Aah I'm fine with not easy. I imagine installing/changing turbo isn't a cheap task to begin with though. Beside that, anything?

Mah mate they're bloody good fun.

They're easier than modern cars just the turbo is an early step, injectors will hold you back too once you're running a decent turbo.

Used to own one. The water to air intercooler is garbage and the pump/electrical system on it shits out consistently. Super strut suspension is expensive to replace and there's a design flaw with the figure 8 joint, which has to be replaced every 60k Km or so. Minor check engine lights will cut your boost in fucking half, so you need to keep the car well maintained. Parts are rare and can take extensive time to arrive. Don't buy one these expecting it to be a daily driver or you will regret it. Otherwise, if it's well maintained, it makes for a decent car and it can be fun, but you need to know what you're getting into with a homoglation, limited run car.

if you can get an old car in good shape, what's to regret?

You won't, only the fwd versions suck ass

>fwd

>ST205
>FWD

3SGE FWD Celicas are still a lot of fun you parroring no car.

I might be getting baited here but
>GT4
>fwd

>155 crank hp
>over 2500lbs
>fun

that's actually pretty sweet power to weight for the money. I'm sorry about your dick, user

>sperg inflating the performance of the only car his parents would buy for him

I bought my own car and it's even slower than that.
Faster than your bus route at least.

>155 crank hp
>125whp
>2550lbs
>good power to weight

it's solid power, you literally never need more outside of a highway, but that's okay user, your bench is the best.

>tfw a Cayman has you beat
>tfw even the miata has you beat

>30hp drivetrain loss in an FWD

Nice try busboy

we're talking about a poverty spec celica, dude

Nah, poverty spec is what us burgers got
>Celica ST205 ST trim---7A-FE (115HP)
>Celica ST205 GT trim---5S-FE (130HP)

I drove a 5SFE variant years ago, I found that decent enough fun.

I meant that only standard, fwd celicas suck, the gt4 is amazing
No

Yes nocar.

Would have been a lot better than the 5SFE you retard

>tell someone that their fwd low power """sports""" coupe sucks
>all they can do is just insult
>Can't even make an argument
You are better off with just getting a corolla (not that it's much difference from an Celica), at least it doesn't look like a 16 yo boy wet dream

My Celica is fun, has a massive boot and the headlights go up.
Post your car.

Mine is 350z will post the picture when I get home in ~20 minutes cuckboi

took me more time than i thought

>never looked at dyno sheets for stock 3sge celicas
>all are in the 125-130hp range
>defending his 14 sec 0- 60 shit machine

Try harder

gay

>straight up lying

you cannot afford an economy car with a 1:1 power to weight ratio

atleast not as gay as fwd celicas

a pigfat renault is a lot gayer desu

Man, get the gt4 and crank boost to 11

>crank boost to 11
It's already running over 12-14 lbs stock

no, things a legend
Its one of my affordable dream cars.
