For real though, can you name another closed wheel car where you can see the inside of the front wheels from the back?

the closest i know of would be the (Scuderia) Chapparal Vision for Gran Turismo (concept)

That looks like a GT concept all right.

Let me clarify what has been said about the laptimes of this car.
They say it will be "top 10 in F1" and would be on pole in WEC.
The track will be Silverstone.
For WEC pole, the time to beat is 1:36.793.
The F1 claim I can extrapolate to their original statements, as they said nothing about them being the current F1 cars.
The original statement was based on the fastest lap of the 2016 Silverstone GP, not the pole time.
That was a 1:35.548
If it can beat this time, I will be happy with what they have said.
That would make it 20 seconds faster around Silverstone than an all out LM GTE-Pro.
The road car I've heard is meant to be around 20 seconds faster than the Holy Trinity around Silverstone.
This would comfortably make it the fastest two seat car ever around a track.

I can't comment on the newer astons, but I had a DB9 that I put about 50k miles on, and it overheated and blew radiator fluid all over the road, leaving me stranded. It has since been replaced with a Ghibli S Q4 that I just broke 52K on and I'm getting Aston flashbacks. All seems well though. When I replace the Maser I may look Astons way again. I did really love the feel of the DB9. It was a lot more incognito than the Maser, didn't catch as many eyes, which is better because roasties nearly swerve into me rubbernecking at some trident emblems at least twice a week. No one ever rubbernecked at the Aston.

They are more refined in engineering terms, and many models having Daimler parts helps.
The main thing is that they have just had their biggest sales year ever, and are one of the fastest growing car manufacturers in the world.

>those exhausts from a 1985 suzuki cultus

I like it because it looks like an nd Miata that got beat on and decided to hit the gym and grow a beard

name one american car that looks as good as an Aston

just posted it senpai

acceptable

>Breaks 1 to 1 power to weight
>More downforce than car weight
>10k+ rpm 1k+ hp 6.5L V12 with 100+ hp KERS
>Even in high aero mode, due to the low drag despite high downforce, goes 225 mph, active aero might bring it all the way to 250
>can somehow seat two people
>should be faster over a lap than a LMP1-H, after all they use the same tyres
>that thing can only seat one
>Might just be the fastest closed cockpit car ever around a circuit
>Road car should be the fastest road car around anywhere too
About time we see an unrestricted track car challenge the finest racing cars.

Dunno how I doublelinked.

>About time we see an unrestricted track car challenge the finest racing cars
I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened already. Race cars are pretty slow compared to what is possible and rich people always want the fastest, most exclusive, new thing.

Newey could always make an X1 if he wanted, that just beats everything.
But I guess the Valkyrie is an evolution of that, and he wanted the track far to be made from the same tub.

>yfw it's gonna get BTFO by the based Griffith in GTE

chevrolet tears, ford gt tears, aston tears

it's going to be glorious

the back of this car looks like ice cream on a hot day

A Vantage will always be a Vantage.
Next year should be fun since the new 720S competitor should be unveiled.

Fun fact about the 720S, the actual power output seems to be closer to 800hp, at the wheels.
If this goes onward to the Senna, McLaren might have just pulled off the sandbag of the century.
When you look at the 720S' time at Willow, having that much power makes sense.

also designed by F1 based god Adrian Newey

All but two F1 cars are designed and built in the glorious UK as well. So add that to the list. Senna's McLaren, Prost's McLaren, Nigel Mansell's Williams and many many more.

It is called the Neweymobile for a reason.

Eh I liked the older model looks more but not bad

Ferrari, Sauber, Haas and STR are all mainly outside the UK.

>this yall king?

no.

Attached: EBDiAOQ.jpg (788x525, 42K)

Is TVR back?
Now the EU are fucking off can we make things that are dangerous again? I do hope so.

They are back with an idea of how to actually make a fiscally sound company.
And a nice car.

Haas are mainly in the UK, they bought the old manor factory, they have the majority of employees in the UK, mostly for logistics.

The SC base is considered their main base.

Why are new cars SO WIDE!?! fucking 78 inches... that is like a chevy suburban! I guess these cars are not meant to be driven on the road at all?

or is it because american girls are so fat?

Attached: size'.jpg (2048x1371, 993K)

Cars have gotten wider since the mid 90's for a few reasons.
First is safety. Cars are now heavier, but generally have better traction than older cars along with chassis stiffness.
Another reason is all the shit they want to fit inside them, but I guess that is an effect of the 1st point.
In this specific case, that Valkyrie is track only, but the road car wouldn't be that much more narrow.
While it is far wider and longer than, say a Lotus Exige, it is a lower car too, which mean it has a wide and stable playform to fit those Venturi's and a huge screaming engine.
Overall, I consider the wider car trend an improvement.
What car did you say is 78 inches wide btw?

Let's see
>500ish hp Cosworth tuned Coyote
>1250kg
>90k britbongs base
Not bad.

The exhaust pipes look kinda lost in those huge cutouts in the rear bumper and they are spaced too far apart. Other than that, beautiful car.

It has grown on me quite a bit, but the old Vantage looked great straight away.
The exhausts are too understated, the surrounding cutouts should be toned back a tad.

>mfw the UK engineers take the gloves off.
The funs over world, we've had enough.

Attached: ohdeary.jpg (600x693, 53K)

The only places Britbong engineers lack would be naval tech and aircraft.
America forever trumped the world with the Blackbird, imho the most advanced vehicle ever made in comparison to everything else which existed at that time.
The car equivalent would be the F1.

Our best engineers generally go into motorsport, hence why we completely dominate the industry. If we hadn't fluffed our aerospace advantage in the 50-60's we'd have been up their with the USA for plane design. However our motorsport prowess would have likely suffered a little.

It wasn't meant to be but at least we all got some amazing innovations that have found their way into the hobby we enjoy.

>unrestricted track car
Well, it has the same tub as the road car, and it seats two people.
Of course Newey could always beat everything if he decides to make the X1.

w..we've been holding back this hh..hole time i swear lul.

>Dominate F1
>Dominate endurance racing
Yeah, we have m8.

TVRs are classed as kit-cars. They have next to no restrictions at all in the UK. If anything, the recent TVRs are more dangerous than the old ones.

Is that why you bought a bunch of Harriers from us? And why we built Concorde? And why we had arguably the best aircraft in the second world war with fantastic engines of which you based your entire fleet off of?

>And why we built Concorde?
Lol. Americans dropped of le supersonic passanger aircraft race very early because they run the numbers and realized there's absolutely no fucking way they're going to be able to monetize it. They werent sure if they'd even got their money back.
Both Tu-144 and Concorde projects swallowed huge amounts of money in what was essentialy a dick measuring contest.

You know I mean currently, right?

Britain for sure has the best automobiles for going fast.

>best aircraft in the Second World War
>carbs would flood and engine would die when performing a hard turn
Umm try again sweetie

THE EYEBROWS

looks like it wants to morph into a 911

Ironic considering it is a 911 competitor.
