Is it a good idea to have a minivan as a daily driver?

I have one and it's pretty handy
I have a little manual coupe Neon for fun

Yeah, sorta. Better to drive round town than a large SUV. Better MPGs too.

minivans are the ultimate "I just want to move people from point A to point B" vehicle. Fold the seats and you can replace "people" with "some cargo"

if you can afford it, yes.

I dunno about as a daily driver, I DD'd one for about 5 years because it was my only vehicle. They're really handy for moving shit, I kept mine around for another 8 years after I stopped DDing it for that reason but recently got rid of it because I dont need it as much any more.

They're not fun to drive but if you use the cargo space a lot it's worth it

>if you can afford it, yes.
They are so cheap with under 100k miles and little to no rust.

Depends on what you are using it for. A van is a purpose based vehicle. The purpose of my van is to take the kids to daycare.

>good idea
yes

>right thing to do
no

If you need to move a lot of people over paved surfaces, or a lot of stuff that isn't so big it could only fit in a moving van.

Minivans are usually a lot less fuel efficient than a $3k civic, so you have to be transporting people or cargo all the time for it to be a good idea.

>el 3k civic meme
haha so funni xD

>paved surfaces

Pffft

Pic related, the Tercel of minivans.

Sometimes I forget minivans even exist when I am looking for a new vehicle. Who even buys that shit brand new? I can understand buying one 10 years old, used for cheap and if you can make good use with it, but who the hell is driving a 2019 minivan new out of the dealership?

If you can find some kind of 5 door hatch for even a 3 door hatch do that instead.

>3k civic
Totally relevant meme, newfriend. Upvoted your post.

A family with small kids. You will get a good 10+years out of it and you likely put a higher premium on safety features.

>minivans
if there was ever a car with "gender dysphoria", that was the one

i have fucked more 18 year old girls when borrowing my moms minivan than in my superduty (fleet spec, crew cab, long bed, no lift, manual windows)

the minivan simply has more space to fug and you feel like 10x the boss for successfully fugging a girl in a minivan

>conceiving your children in the car you will end up hauling them around in
the irony is palpable

minivans are better than SUVs at literally everything but offroading, and you're not doing that anyway. They're more comfortable, more roomy, with better features, and they usually drive better.

I feel like minivans are awesome people carriers, and they can be comfy and "luxury" if you find a higher trim model
My grandparents have had a Town & Country for as long as I can remember because they have a permanent discount on Chrysler vehicles (don't remember specifics). I don't know what T&C they had before, but they passed down their 2012 Town and Country Limited to my parents when they got a 2017 Pacifica Limited.
4 captains chairs (they have lots of friends) and pretty cool features for the high-end trim of a non-luxury vehicle
They didn't get the hybrid pacifica because they couldn't be optioned with a heated steering wheel

I feel like I could only buy my own minivan if I could find one with leather seats that wasn't used as child-mover (stains and damage)

It's amazing how people like you come here with the exact SUV trophy wife mindset.
>hurr who buy minivans they're like soooo out of fashion!

My mom has a chrysler town and country and i've used it to tow around 12 mk3 supras(average ~1000 miles round trip). That bitch is bullet proof with over 250k.Can be bitches to work on but rarely have to.

Take the rear seats out and they are actually pretty fun. All that weight reduction makes it a tin can with a V6, plus you can fit tons of shit back there like surfboards bikes waterbeds anything it’s your van.

this
after going minivan, hard to go back, because only thing other cars can be better than minivan is beaning more sporty.
also fun to DD by pedal to the metal cuz to slow to kill you and drift in snow, fun x7.

So the minivan is the new Veeky Forums vehicle?

they were forever, just only cool guys knew about it.

I was converted in 2015 when I rode in a town and country.

I still have a preference for full-size vans though.

MPVs are the ultimate utilitarian vehicle, and most people should own them, SUVs are literally never taken offroad
but they still have the stigma of soccer moms driving them even though every soccer mom and her 20 friends are all driving SUVs or crossovers now
the minivan is the thinking man's car

>still have a preference for full-size vans though
I do as well. Minivans are nice but they are nowhere near as comfy as a conversion van for long trips. I guess for moving around town minivans work fine. A short conversion van can do that job as well, but at the expense of full economy.

They're good for people who need to carry tools around as well. Live in Texas and can't tell you how many Pablo's have had the tool boxes in their truck beds stolen while visiting Home Depot

Is there a RWD minivan?
Or one that doesn't have such a short hood and a triangular shape in the front like ?

old ones for the american market do.

Is there even a need for a truck then if a minivan can do everything better except tow massive weight?

it's like you don't like having great front visibility and able steer millimeters from thing.

also mine dirty never tell anyone dream is to convert that model to RWD (mid engine?) for fun drift minivan. there is ton of space for everything (but would need to cut into firewall if to fit longitudinal engine in front)
only problems would be time, money and know how to.

but 1 con, engines are usually big so fuel expenses might be a thing if youre poor

get a previa

>it's like you don't like having great front visibility and able steer millimeters from thing.
okay you're right, actually it seems pretty practical

Maybe if they still made them RWD with more manly looks

Mazda MPV
Chevy Astro
GMC Safari
Ford Aerostar

Early MPVs and some Aerostars can be found with manual trans

>Chevy Astro
>GMC Safari
Those also have AWD.

so find a RWD one, dumbass

He was just giving extra info you cunt

I like SUVs being popular because all the normies fawning over memewagons keeps the price of people-movers lower.

If you want a minivan, at least don't be a cuck then. Get yourself a supercharged toyota previa or a Dodge Turbo Caravan. Torbovan gets added hilarity for being piss easy to drop in the 2.2 litre intercooled Turbo II engine from a Daytona or a LeBaron for 177hp and 300nm. Or you could go full retard and Turbo III or SRT4 swap that thing.

God damn I wish we got these things in Europe, I love myself some Turbo Mopars, they're probably the best thing to come from America thus far.

Attached: smoking_caravan.jpg (600x372, 55K)

Was just going to say either get the caravan and srt swap it, or odyssey and turbo K series swap.

but we have VR6 minivans that are +200hp stock

>pornstarter
Yeah, nah, fuck those things. They're a bitch to work on, have zero novelty and reliability value and are VAG crap to boot.
I'd honestly rather take a BMW 2 series Active Tourer cuckwagon over that shit.

I DD one for 3 years, was great. If I need to get some large cargo item, I just take the seats out. If I need to carpool with family, I put the seats back in.

Early Nissan Serena

Apparently Japs do. They still produce a number of different minivans.

Get a Toyota Sienna. I use my parents 2006 Sienna and use it to tow cars all over the place all the time. Even for a FWD it's got a lot of power and very reliable.

Attached: IMAG2165.jpg (3264x1824, 1.6M)

Sorta related, but what should I look for if I want a near retro van with the bubble window, a spoiler, stinkbug stance, sweet pinstripes in odd colors, etc.

Was this a particular model or package sold in the 70's or were they custom jobbers?

I DD my '93 Dodge AWD Caravan.

I swear it get's 20mpg city and is a beast in all types of weather.

This is what perfection looks like.

Fucking toy story minivan.

>Not making your gal get on the pill and cumming inside her every time in the back of your parents minivan
Fucking pleb

But nah, minivans are the ideal family car. They're based on car platforms unlike real SUVs so they handle/drive better and they aren't these weird fucking high crossovers that have zero interior room.
They're spacious and comfortable and can hold a shit ton of stuff. Really the ideal trip vehicle if you have a family. The only thing better might be a wagon, and that only works if your family has 2 children or less.

>birth control
hope you like a crazy hormonal bitch

isn't the toy story van more like a Summit Wagon?

>hope you like a crazy hormonal bitch

This isn't the 80's, the pill isn't the only form of birth control.

Sub-dermal implants last 5 years, maintain a level hormone level, and practically eliminate periods. My girl is horny all the time with it too.

Not being on birth control makes a woman more hormonal than not.

When I was growing up and those were brand new I thought they were so cool looking because of how aerodynamic (wedged) they looked in the front.

>literally states "making your gal get on the pill"
why am I supposed to know you're implying she's not actually on the pill when you literally say that

I'm not that guy and I only read your post and responded to it .

My "gal" gets a shot every three months and it's fantastic because she has zero peridos and zero mood swings. I highly recommend it.

I think he is right.

the vag first gen trio is twingo equivalent in minivan form.

FF MINIVANS BELONG TO THE TRASHMAN

pragmatism is the utmost heterosexual value
homosexuals are concerned with muh looks

hey fuck you, my voyager is a nice car to drive

I hope somehow you learn to become secure in your masculinity while growing your neck hairs on this chinese imageboard.

My T@C could get 29mpg on the highway and had power to merge (3.8L)

do you even know what I meant by that you sped

>29mpg on the highway
Bullshit what year?

A 2005 at about 70 mph.

in the modern era where gas mileage will only make a difference of a few dollars each time you fill up, the point of a good daily driver is that you look forward to getting in the car and driving it, so that a significant portion of your day and by extension your life isn't consumed by something you find to be very mundane at best and unbearable at worst

can you say that will be the case in a minivan

Or you can be sane and get a motorcycle for funzies and daily driving and a humongously practical, efficient and reliable vehicle for the times you need to haul your family/friends/cargo instead.
