I've been playing XCom since Enemy Unknown came out and have yet to get close to beating either Enemy Unknown or XCom 2

question: if I give a grenadier a battle scanner, does the scanner get increased throwing (launching) arc as compared to a regular hand throw?

How do you spend the XCOM AP that the faction heroes collect? I've purchased Sustain and Reaper on my Templar but it just used the normal soldier AP.

The XCOM AP is a shared pool between all soldiers. If you spend more AP then a soldier has than it takes from the XCOM pool.

How hard would it be to mod the Assassin's Harbor Wave attack onto the Katana, so rangers get to use it if they're wielding it.

So does the training centre allow me to give a grenadier blast padding and shredder along with the bonus x-com ability or can you just swap which standard abilities you want, along with the bonus abilities.

You can use the Training Center to obtain ALL of your class abilities, and 0-5 extra RNG abilities.

in my run the assassin spawned with the berserkers, the hunter spawned with the sectopods, and the warlock spawned in the final room with the avatars.

by the end of the game the chosen become a joke, even with 5 strengths, i dont think any of them lasted more than a turn.

All signs point towards the fact that there was going to be a 4th chosen at some point, there is code that references a 4th and unused voice lines for a "zealot" chosen, so it's likely that he would've been a tanky gunner.

there's one unused voice line that sounds utterly ridiculous and no assets that I know of

Loving the update so far, but damn even with all the qol mods, im still struggling with the UI. The fucking around with attachments and swapping the guns for the kitted out one for the squad, trying to find out who likes who pre-bonded and trying to stick to it, the entire covert op screen without a way to preview or modify soldiers and making sure those guys arent taking vital equipment for a joyride, all the shit you can only see from the battlescape like orders, the radio-grid, the chosen infos, the fact that batlescape idling ticks away at a non-trivial pace and so much more....

No way.

Technically there's two, there is also code for a "psychotic" chosen or something along those lines. I've seen people also mention that there was going to be a 4th faction, some form of android class, and there are also android voice lines in the SDK, so they probably just ran out of budget.

Worth noting that the android voice lines are named Julian(sounds nothing like the Julian we know though, they also sound like placeholder lines like with the Zealot), so it could be nothing, or maybe they were going to integrate Shen's last gift as a 4th faction with Julian as the leader, we'll never know.

Also, the hypervital shit only work pre mission, but not pre-covert ops which is bullshit

Rescue the Resistance Operative is such a fucking deathtrap god damn

Fireteam - squad size limited to two. Mission is adjusted accordingly.

Juggernaut - only one soldier may be sent. Mission is adjusted accordingly, and soldier is given the Juggernaut ability, allowing them to react to every enemy action on the turn when activated.

They are also granted immunity to mental effects, along with being able to parry viper grabs.

Ambush - ADVENT will launch multiple reinforcements once XCOM completes the mission objective.

Chemical Leak - high concentrations of acid pools will appear in the mission area. Due to potential of acid pools appearing on spawn, XCOM will have temporary acid immunity at mission start for two turns.

Low Visibility - adverse conditions in the area has reduced the visibility of both XCOM and the enemy

Black Ops - if XCOM kills every visible enemy before their turn is over, XCOM will regain concealment

Advanced - the enemy fields units more advanced than normal, but in reduced number.

Waves - ADVENT will keep launching reinforcements until XCOM completes the objective

Phalanx - Enemy units are somewhat reduced in number, but will be gathered around the objective: prepare for heavy duty combat.

Jaggernaut and Black Ops don't work properly and Fireteam is basically impossible. Advent's AI can't deal with Chemical Leak either

Juggernaut would be cool but it needs somebody to actually do some work on it for it to be viable

Sometimes it feels like it's better to just let the Chosen steal a soldier rather than fight them and potentially lose everything, but it's so hard to tell

Am I the only one that's disappointed that for killing the warlock we only get an assault rifle? I very good assault rifle, but still just an assault rifle.

I was hoping to get some sort of crazy psionic amp that I could equip on my psi operative so he could ascend to Elder God-tier level of power.
