Compiled for Linux, needs to be compiled to run on Windows I guess. Also due to a bug you might need to run it either via the binary or through start.sh. I'll make an attempt to fix that and make a Windows executable over the next day or two.

Rogues are good because they get a lot of cash if you sell the shit you find in the dungeon, so you can keep well-supplied on consumables and armour. The most important of those would be your first 18-20 AC body armour, along with plenty of blinding powders (rogues get big combat bonuses against disabled creatures) and ?protEvil (hugely more effective in Mist due to dungeon scaling).

Also, this is how depth progression goes: Each time you descend (ascending to town is excluded from this) the mindepth increases by 1. And when you enter the dungeon from town, you can go up one level, go to the same level, go down one, or go down two. So if you dive two several times, you stay ahead of the mindepth which means you can stay at a hard floor for longer to hopefully scrounge up enough loot to go deeper.
