I've got a few questions about survival difficulty / Horizon

Do robot companions die permanently in survival?
How does Horizon deal with Automatron companions? Do they need ammo and stuff?
I've read that Horizon allows you to conscript settlers and send them on jobs to kill things and return, sort of like the thing in Fallout shelter. Anyone got any examples or experience with this?
Related question: Can you build robots and conscript them in the same way, or make robot scientists? The page claims there's tons of jobs for settlers, and you can even unlock stuff by having certain jobs for settlers filled. Sounds somewhat like MGS:PW's mother base minigame, of sorts. And TPP.
If ammo is rarer and more expensive, can you still use contraptions to mass produce it?
Is power armor made of paper in this difficult / Horizon? Friend of mine linked a video of some overhaul mod but the second the guy went outside in his PA, he almost died fast to small arms fire. IMO power armor should literally be like a tank on legs, small arms fire should only ricochet off desu.
Does it conflict with PA: Overmodded? I'm gonna guess and say yes, but curious

And last question: Does Horizon conflict with a ton of shit in general? If so, what are some of the most common conflicts?

This computer has an archaic CPU, old ram, virtual currency miners have made replacing video cards hard, etc. Look up video card prices, a GTX 1070 costs like $700 thanks to crypto currency miners. Like $200 more than normal. This computer has like 8 or 9 year old technology in it. I said "Fuck it" when I Googled to replace my 780 and sellers were wanting $600+ for one. That was like $100 more than when I got mine almost three fucking years ago.

I was due for a total upgrade. Should have done so last year, to be honest.

Well a friend of mine that helped me build this PC and I researched for hours on what the best one for me was, with the price of video cards now this one actually pretty much cost about what it would if I bought all the parts individually. It was a labor day deal to boot, so I got a pretty good deal.
