im trying so hard to get into OSRS (never played osrs or rs3 or whatever it's at) But the reward for the grind seems so bad? it's like spend 2 days training agility so you can get to another grind slightly faster.....
when does it get fun?

bossing is fun! you only need stats in the 70s to do barrows

it's basically a constant grind where the ""fun"" comes from setting and achieving goals ad nauseum.

if you don't like the grind aspect you are probably out of luck barring enjoying specific pieces of content

agility is one of the least fun things to do and it's really just for people who give a shit about efficient grinding

start doing slayer (or try all skills to find one you like) and if you're still not having fun quit the game

Agility is one of the least rewarding grinds in the game. When you do stuff like combat skill, profitable skills or just plain fast skills the rewards are more obvious.

with magic dart/ibans blast and a whip you should run through barrows no problem

Start from the rocks, log or mushroom. Should be 5 objects to start from. You just chase the tracks until you either hit a den or a split path where you have to check two objects, normally muddy holes or mushrooms, can be seaweed as well. Just chase it around until you can attack a den, harvest and go to the closest starting point again.

It's pretty good exp and money but I wouldn't do it without magic sex and a herb sack with stamina potions.

You'll get use to it eventually.

Where is everyone getting so much range xp? It seems to be the most common combat 99 by an enormous margin even for non pvpers and yet its my lowest combat skill. The only real xp I ever get is from cannon because all of my slayer tasks are either cannon/burst/2 melee tasks and the only bossing I do only really requires melee and maging.

Range is like the easiest combat skill to 99 for noobs. It's both accuracy and damage unlike melee. No rune requirement like Magic.

All you need are a Dwarven Cannon and 55 Slayer for Broad Bolts and you're set to grind to 99.

I know a dude who literally only did Ankous from 70 to 99 range.

its used for the comfy factor at zulrah and raids to minimize switches at the cost of like ~7% dps or so (I dont actually remember the exact math) but its never ideal to use under any circumstances currently
