got rid of those rust textures around the minimap and bars, moved the clock to the left a little so it wasnt so off center from the minimap.

yeah its fucking tragic. I went 3.1 from 2.2 and found the respawns were completely fucked. having military I had killed a few minutes ago respawn at the entrance of the army warehouses on my way out. dumb shit

was wondering if i just copied the spawn files from 2.2 and overwrote them of 3.1. probably would fuck shit up though.

Apparently that's an issue all over with hordes of military in most areas of the zone. I remember at the end of Cordon sometimes bandits would respawn in 2.1 but that was hardly an issue compared to military. Apparently monolith in Pripyat was replaced by large numbers of controllers which to me seems insane

Running AMK 1.41 AE, installed as per the instructions in the repo, crashes on the loading screen for starting a new game with no crashlog being generated. What am I doing wrong? I tried installing a patch found in the repo and still had the same issue

They don't prefer it, they just don't know better. You can get the old map but you'd need to get the old map from the vanilla texture files, put that into the new texture files in the right place, then also change a few things in the configs so yeah. Enjoy your shitty compass.
