I'm wondering about something. The various skin tones, are they actual variations of the skin, or are they like color filters that the game applies to the texture?
So like, to add more skin stones, what do I need to do?

Clausewitz lays out a good theorem that one of the major problems in warfare is what he calls 'friction'. It basically means that any offensive action runs into lots of problems which inevitably result in casualties, death, and supplies never running the way you think. The problem with staging a long sea invasion is that you need immediate success to occupy a major port or you risk having most of your force annihilated. The problem is that even if they can defeat Skyrim in a pitched naval battle, Skyrim can decline to engage and instead strike in wolf packs until they've whittled down the Altmer fleet, or sunk enough supplies that the army cannot function properly. This is because the Altmer fleet must disperse to deny Skyrim free maneuverability and also provide escorts to their supply vessels. They will have to moor and have a way to ride or avoid sudden bad weather, which can disorder a fleet. A fleet in disorder can be destroyed by an opportunistic and aggressive opponent who has less ships and power. Invading Hammerfell by sea is not even remotely the same prospect. If the invading force cannot secure a protected deepwater harbor they must have overwhelming naval superiority to mount a campaign that lasts more than a few weeks.

Reminder on the Tullius quote?
I am well aware of Nord raiders, I just got finished playing Bloodmoon again and there are shipwrecks there too.
And I am talking about TES where Nords have an obsession with being warriors, not sailors. I am not talking about Vikings as I don't know Viking fucking history we are talking about TES.
That being said I DO KNOW ENOUGH to say that Vikings were rarely ever fighting ship-to-ship, boarding wasn't common anymore by the time they were strong either
All interesting to read and consider, maybe a naval invasion would be impossible. At the end of the day sometimes TES stretches imagination so I just wouldn't be surprised by it.

What's the point of picking a race for rp purposes when barely anyone cares what race you are or points it out? You'd think Ulfric would be extra cautious of this strange, random Altmer asking to help him & the Stormcloaks

Inconsequential NPCs, of all mods, adds guards outside Windhelm's gates that won't let you into the city if you're not a human race. But yeah, Bethesda sucks.
Luis Morris
TES never has random unforeseen events that alter the course of major conflicts. You mean like a hero that pops up from nowhere to solve a crisis
Eli James
Are there any mods that restore all (or at least a lot of) the discontinued schools of magic, like Mysticism and Illusion, and incorporate it well in the game or at least a not terrible
Jackson Anderson
Illusion is in Skyrim?
Andrew Peterson
But that's completely retarded, the Stormcloaks would never bar foreigners, they have a whole quarter for a bunch of Dunmer who openly write books about slaughtering the Nords. Not to mention the other races that live freely in the city. The only reason Argonians aren't allowed in is to stop tensions between Argonians and Dunmer after the Red Year

Sebastian Lopez
You need to be a true artist to make good naked statues.
I guess that's why all the nude statues mods suck, it is not only the texture, it's the design overall.
Jace Gray
Okay so I'm an idiot and don't know what I'm doing wrong. I downloaded The Book of UUNP and TERA Armors for UNP and when I put them on, it changes my body back to the default one.
I went into BodySlide and couldn't find anything to refit the armors. I'm using MO if that helps any

The Renaissance and Baroque artists are god tier. Imagine having Michelangelo, or Bernini as skyrim modders. That will mess up everything with autism but at least is going to be funny.
Grayson Torres

I imagine a Renaissance artist might be churning out good armor ports and unique custom armor meshes they spent 350 hours on per piece on moonrunes website
Aiden Miller
I want to try a somewhat atypical battlemage character for Skyrim. Should I go Redguard or Nord? Not really interested in min maxing or whatever, just interest in character looks, culture and background, stuff like that. I enjoy both vikings/celts and dune-dwelling nomads so there's that.
The modern day renaissance artist is churning out 3D models and textures for other video games or CGI films.
Daniel Perez
Art? What happened to you? how did you end up making cheap shoes filled with newspapers and pineapples painted black for $10,000 USD?

magic for races that don't know how to read is pretty damn daring, pick whatever.

I choose Joy of Perspective because it gives me fewer problems with some animations (riding, carts, smithing in general) and because it jumps to 3rd person when you character ragdolls.

A few threads ago someone said to change the dynamic range output from limited to full and while I'm not the person they were responding to I'd like to say thanks for that heads up. Everything looks so vibrant now its crazy. Its like everything was covered in a thin grey filter before.

Is there something similar to tarot card reading in this series? Is fortune telling even a thing?
Jonathan Evans
bumping since i still haven't managed to fix it
Benjamin Cox
Aye. It seems best unless one wants to go hardcore 1st person all the time. And I'm fine with Joy's mix of 1st and 3rd person.
Dylan Roberts
Did you download the bodyslide files for each?
Nolan Gutierrez
Is there a "slutwear" armor replacer that actually puts effort in to make the armors aesthetically pleasing and not just "lol we removed a bunch of the armor and added jiggle physics"?
Isaac Sanchez
Fortune telling in general is, but I don't know of any instances offhand the player would encounter. ESO has some cards that are for tarot reading, but I don't play it so I don't really know if they have any use or if readers are in the game.
Adrian Rivera
Sounds like you didn't get UUNP files. I don't think Tera armors have UUNP files. I don't remember anyone converting it. When you use bodyslide, there are extra files that you need (in the ShapeData/Groups/Silders folders...they'll be XML files in the CailenteTools folder). From there, you need to batch build your files.
If you do have the Bodyslide files, check to make sure that the original mods aren't overwriting.
Jonathan Kelly
No.
Oliver Lewis
Anyone knows what's the resource or program or whatever to make animations?
I'm so fucking tired of the vanilla dance animations. But the anime-j-k-pop dances are just worse.
Why has no one made a decent dance replacer that doesn't look ridiculous, robotic or plain anime?
Camden Gonzalez
It sucks because there's many independently made sexy armors that are high quality and well made.
Ayden Morgan
Only anime characters dance.

Holy shit, dudes. I just finished VIGILANT and my mind is a blank. I keep trying to think of other quest mods to draw a comparison but nothing comes close, and the last quest mods I've played were Enderal, Beyond The Reach and Darkend. I would say this guy needs to be hired by Bethesda but I guess that would be too cheesy, but major props to the creator for actually attempting to crack the engine to add more than just reskinned vanilla enemies and "le epin unique" dungeon designs.
