Is there anything more comfy than uplifting primitives? These are the second militarist civilization I will uplift into my xenophile militarist empire.

Yes, ridding the universe of xeno filth.

It may be playable in 5 years, depending on how fleshy the expansions will be

Got Civ 5 in the Summer sale, dropped it hard when I found out units can't stack and the mods to fix that need all the DLC (which at the time was about £40).
Can get the DLCs for £25 now, is it worth getting those and the mods to stack units? How stable is modded Civ 5? Had bad experiences with modding in the past.

I'm a big fan of 4X games like Civ and Moo1/2. How does Galactic Civ 3 compare? Worth $30? Looks like the game had some issues early on, but subsequent updates may have improved on this. Should I pick up the Crusades expansion while I'm at it?
Other 4X game recs? I'd like to pick up Civ 6, but I'm waiting on the price to drop a smidge first.

That's what you get for not playing 6.

Can't afford it. :( Can you stack units in Civ 6? Even so, I've bought 5 and want my money's worth, but I'll have to spend more money and mod it for it to stand a chance at being playable.
I can interpret unit symbols as representing something realistic though. I can't think of any reason why that worker unit wouldn't be able to move past another worker unit when there is 10-20 square miles of land available. Are there millions of workers crammed into this piece of land? Supported by a city of 50,000? I can't imagine it, and the game stops being fun for me when it acts like a game of chess instead of a God-king simulator.

I fear stellaris is skipping the golden age of paradox titles and will be proceeding directly to the bloat phase.

Interpret wars in Civ V as the poor man's Endless Legend skirmishes, instead of zooming in you fight across entire continents at once to at least get a taste of tactics instead of absolutely everything being macro.
