Wave is the best friend/foil/rival/love interest for Tails.
Since Tail isn't allowed to be a technological rival to Eggman he's always pretty much left to just being Sonic's friend who sometimes explains exposition. With Wave he at least gets someone he can potentially compete with and be allowed to beat since she isn't anyone important.
In this way he's at least allowed some sort of characterization and presence in a game or something.

It's Bizarre that when Tails isn't with Sonic he's just with Classic Sonic, like he has nothing else going on in his life ever.

It might be the best Treasure made sonic game that was never made, it definitely wears the genesis platformer inspirations on its shouders
