Oh, damn. For a game with such a big brand that's gotta hurt. One would expect them to outsell any KoF in pretty much any region. It probably did better in the US, but still stuff like amazon reviews aren't looking too kindly on it. I heard that port of SF2 on the switch did better than MvCI in europe or something like that.

An user in the last thread was asking for Neo Geo game recommendations that weren't too common and another recommended prehistoric Isle 2. I checked out some vids of it along with the pre-neo geo prequel and I was absolutely charmed by it.
There's something about the animations of the winged dinos that I like for some reason especially the Rhamphorhynchus that it made me chuckle. As for the one on Neo Geo the rescuing people mechanic looks like an interesting twist on it. I like the animation of the prerendered dinos too. For some reason seeing that mini T-Rex at around 8:00 get BTFO made me go holy shit for some reason. There's something about these games that make me feel like I missed out for not having played them before.
I could easily fire up an emulator and play the second one then I remembered that SNK released SNK arcade classics 0 that had the first one and holy shit the game got ridiculously expensive. more than $100 USD for loose copies. I saw a listing on amazon for $300 USD. I should've imported it when it recently came out. It'd be cool if SNK re released both prehistoric isle games in some form I'd like to support them for it since there's no other ports I'm aware of. Do the humans really get BTFO at the end of the first game?
The aesthetics reminds me of Skies of Arcadia, which I haven't played, but perhaps leaning to an ever so slightly older audience, considering the drinking scenes... so maybe the system cold be similar... or perhaps based on some respected pirate game that covers travel, naval battles and duels?
I mean, how the hell would one tackle gameplay for swordfighting upside-down during a freefall?...

I think excussing bosses and the like, all characters are more or less in the same level, and depending on the situation they may show some hidden power or sacrifice something for winning. Like Kyo and Iori almost gave their lives to seal Orochi, Yashiro killed himself and Shermie so Chris could become Orochi, Shingo got super injured and broke an arm to hold orochi!Iori, Kensou showed he have the dragon power thing in NESTS Saga etc.
