If you play the character I think you always get a extra ~20 years. I played as Lu Bu and lived to like 56 before I won.

Lu Bu doesn't die of natural causes, so he gets the extra years anyway.

Why doesn't this dude have any meaningful interactions with Liu Shan or Xingcai? His ties with the Zhang family were literally the only reason he didn't get shot at the gate in Shu. Why doesn't he actually hate the Sima family and Guo Huai who actually ruined his life in Wei? Why is he actually friends with Sima Zhao in these games?

I get the rest, but why would he interact with Xingcai exactly?

He immediately got reassigned to the Nanman territories along with other Shu officers to keep the peace where he met and fell in love with his future wife.

Her being married to Liu Shan and technically Xiahou Ba's nephew is what ties things together unless Koei wants to go with the "muh benevolence" explanation for accepting Ba.

I mean to be fair, you can actually see DW Liu Shan accepting Xiahou Ba out of a combination of genuine goodness and just not giving a shit.

They should play up the family tree angle more though, I'm not disagreeing. His motivations and the ways he gets to where he does are just way too vague, even though I don't think it's a bad concept.

I love battles like this, but I hate how frequent they are with the PUK, Sun Ce is literally incapable of defending Wu's bases, there will be like 20k troops in a base and He'll refuse to deploy them so I have to do so manually and send in my personal force so I can assume control of the battle. I just defeated a 30k force at Yuzhang now I have to defeat a 45k force and I can expect no reinforcements.

Unpopular opinion: Shu was the most righteous of the three and deserved to rule the land. Cao Cao was a cuck.

Honestly, he's a good character. Not a character I can fully admire, but he fits very well in the narrative as the last struggler against fate, helpless against inevitability, unable to fill the shoes of the one before him.

History of course tells a very different story, but in the romanticized story, I can appreciate the role.

He is a good character given his role in the game's story. And since the game doesn't include much of the political aspect of the period, most of his historical and novel's failure is hard to be seen, making him hardly has any fault. His movesets also range from okay to pretty good, so there's that. The only bad thing about him that I can think of is his voice desu

Also speaking of unpopular opinion, I see Lu Bu more of a tragic figure that got fucked by the situations and people around him, rather than a traitorous power-hungry dog like he's usually portrayed

Lu Bu in DW6 was pretty great. He's all about the fighting, but it's revealed in Diao Chan's story that he knows that she was just using him, but he's been used all his life (By Ding Yuan and Dong Zhuo) that he thinks it's normal. It's just she was only one that asked instead of told.
