If people still care enough to make a new general, we’re still livin

Don’t worry it was mostly Pekos doing good with Bob.

But I know he’s good.

Doujin
Qudans
JDCR
Chanel

Who will win?

Hopefully Qudans

Whats the best high risk high reward reads character for you guys? Some characters in this game get nutty damage off a good read.

Chloe and Paul

Chloe is pretty much looked at as the highest risk highest reward character. She’s really not that great but has a passable enough poking game that she isn’t completely fucked and a few gimmicks that make her better in tournaments than anywhere else. Her combos do the most damage in the game outside of Akuma and are 100 times easier.

Why does the best fightan game have noone on its general

I love Eliza!

Katarina is such a boring character. Why is she even in the game? She's also not easy on the eyes. Truly an irredeemable character. I'd rather watch jack 7 then Katarina.

I'm starting to doubt Chloe really being C-tier. Looking at how well she preforms overall, she should be B-tier at least IMO. Then again, tiers mean little in this game, it's pretty balanced.

>|Tekgen| Blue Ranker Forever

What are some good moves to use as set-ups to go for a f,F,3+4 with Lee? I've tried some things but tyring to use that command grab immediately after an attack makes it come out as f,3+4 instead.
Drag's f,f,1+2 was rally easy to initiate after almost any attack by comparison.

Lee is a wall raper. His command grab denies a blocking opponent and slams them up on the wall. It reall doesn't have too much utility outside of that but you can follow it up with a quick low sweep to get standard throw damage out of it on the combo.

f3+4 is also guaranteed after the throw for good damage.

What I'm asking for is some moves that lead a bit more naturally into the command grab. For example, if my opponent is at the wall but they're keeping up a good defence, what are some moves I can do to pressure my opponent into staying defensive so I can use f,F,3+4 with minimal chance of being interrupted.
If I do d/f+1 and then immediately try to buffer in the command grab, it always comes out as f,3+4 instead.

wr34 or uf3+4 maybe?

I'll give 'em a try. The +frames on u/f,3+4 should help.

test

I wish I could call myself El Negro and play Master Raven

His Bryan is lackluster and he keeps getting inside his own head. Honestly his play on Kazuya was way better than his Bryan. He needs to fucking settle down, drop Bryan, and stop overthinking. Naps's Bryan makes Knee's look pathetic.

Also losing to Chanel isn't a disgrace, Chanel is a top 10 player in the world.

And even then Jimmy, a world class player, still has his hands full on Bryan. The character isn’t bad but certainly amazing in this game and Knee looks pretty out of it with Bryan lately.

lmao if you think Jimmy would beat Knee in a Bryan mirror

*certainly not amazing

Who are the 10 best in the world right now? Something like JDCR, Saint, Knee, Chanel, Kkokkoma, Jeondding, Noroma, Qudans, maybe Doujin and Jimmy?

Lars by far

Bryan is absolutely amazing in this game, but execution on him is stupid hard with the massive lag in the game. It takes a particular mindset and devotion and Knee doesn't look like he's feeling Bryan.

In a previous game I would agree but he's really not doing that well on Bryan. Just look at how poor his neutral is, how unoptimal his combos are, how much he drops combos, or how he barely taunt jet uppers. Naps really feels like he's clicking with Bryan much more than Bryan than Knee is.

I think an argument can be made for Anakin replacing Kkokkoma if he stops being a nervous bitch about Anakin

Naps is playing in American tournaments and Knee is playing against other Koreans. There's a huge difference.

>I think an argument can be made for Anakin replacing Kkokkoma if he stops being a nervous bitch about Anakin
nervous bitch about Koreans*

Was referring to how Anakin has admitted he's basically ducking koreans right now

Knee's Bryan just feels largely unimpressive and Naps is as good as he is because he's been playing in Korea and Japan literally until last month.

I think that execution needs to be factored into the discussion because the majority of tournaments are now held on PS4.

Though Qudans is pulling off Devil Jin on PS4 who isn’t as hard as Bryan but is certainly not an easy character.

Does knee even play the ps4 version? isnt he always playing PC version on his stream?

I would agree that anakin could replace Kkokkoma. I just don’t understand the mindset of being afraid of Koreans, especially when you’re as good as Anakin.

I don’t think so.

He honestly makes all his money from streams so he doesn’t really even need to win tournaments for anything besides pride.

Seems Naps might be more devoted right now, he turns down friendlies if it's not on PS4 because he doesn't wanna develop bad habits or lose any refinement on his TJU.

Maybe getting his face kicked in by JDCR shook him too much?

Jimmy is in it to win it.

He needs to be too ensure his spot at finals

SA tournaments seem annoying

They also don't seem that good at Tekken

ps4 btfo

If your talking about "top 10 people who play in tournaments" then that's an okay list but there are a lot of Koreans that are still better then Jimmy or Doujin like Lowhigh, Go Attack, Help Me who haven't traveled.

that's who i was leaving out. MBC is another.

Go Attack is arguably top five players. Dude is a monster.

youtube.com/watch?v=qWtZj8dP92E He fucked on people with Roger Jr. like it was nothing

Knee played Brian a lot in the ATL which he won. People are really exaggerating this "Knee is struggling in T7" thing. Yes he's had some really inconsistent results on 2/3 PS4 tournaments but if you look at something like the ATL where you get 3/5 sets (and play on arcade version/PC) hes played great.

That being said I really don't get his logic. He talked about his tournament tier list and put Jack, Drag, Kazumi S tier and said all Mishimas are in B tier cause of PS4 lag yet he plays "B tier" Kazuya (and Bryan for that matter) a ton in tournaments and doesn't touch any of the 3 S tiers hes talked about.

DJ not as hard as Bryan execution wise? How?

Ya I wouldn't hesitate to put Go Attack top 5 in the world right now he's an absolute beast in T7.

I don't think a lot of people realize that he entered that Korean Masters tournament and only lost to JDCR in winners and Noroma in losers, the two people who made it to finals.

TJU is insane. Devil Jin is definitely difficult, but TJU is the hardest thing in Tekken 7. It's the Enja rekka of Tekken 7.

and he ran Master Raven, a character widely regarded as just alright.

Go Attack is a beast he just doesn't travel.

top five players in the world are easily jdcr, saint, qudans, go attack and chanel. i'd put Knee in sixth place. no questions.

TJU and CH DF2 PEWGF are equal in terms of difficulty imo

That tracks.

But you dont have to do tju every few seconds while dj constantly is doing higher difficulty stuff. A lot of Bryan is actually really simple

Real talk though when are they buffing Lars

*Chloe

they're probably saving any big balance adjustments for the geese update.

what if they do some stupid shit like SFV and just nerf low tier characters and buff mid or high tiers only?

I can see that

I wouldn't be surprised but I trust the Tekken team a but more than capcom

I still think Knee is a top tier player, never did I discredit that. I just think his Bryan isn't clicking and think he should put more time into Feng or Kazuya. When he played on Kazuya he seemed way more comfortable and fluid, becoming more clever in his approach and harder to read.

I think it's because while Bryan is simple his lack of movement options simply force you to play a more linear game, which in turn makes you easier to read. This is not a bad Bryan but it's a far fucking cry from homing taunt Bryan.

With Kaz, Knee is able to apply his great strength of game knowledge because yeah while Kaz also has a simple game plan, he has that Mishima movement. Knee is able to take full advantage of classic Mishima strengths and combine that with his insane just Tekken know how in a way that no one else really can unless you've played a shit load of Tekken.

also Devil Jin is harder than Bryan execution wise but Bryan is harder to play at high levels due to the aforementioned linearity of his gameplan.

I hope it's just a couple tiny buffs to the low tiers. I don't think any notable nerfs NEED to happen except for pic related.

There's really not a ton of ways they can nerf characters without changing the completely.

King's throws are fucking lame but that's how the character is built in this game, same with shit like AoP.

all they have to do to WR2 is just make it less safe on block

*changing them completely

I can't say for previous games but I think Bryan is quite good this game with his issue being the linearity you mentioned causing his left side to be his most glaring weak spot to the point many bring it up as the go to sidestep to counter a character. I genuinely think Jimmy's Bryan is better than Knee's in Tekken mainly because it compliments the way he plays more. Knee cannot fully abuse his skills on Bryan, meanwhile Jimmy's extremely methodical and varied playstyle covers some of Bryan's shortcomings. If Jimmy can consistently play at the level he did when he first player Jeondding in SCR then I think he can be the best dark horse shot, albeit still a slim one, that America has. Now that's still a big if because the biggest issue with Jimmy is apt to his name and sometimes he's just sleeping at the start of a match and plays terribly, during rounds like that he makes way worse mistakes than he normally does.

Ultimately, my point is for Knee's sake I think he should drop Bryan if he wants to win Finals.

post your dream patch

>input lag reduced by 2 frames via the UE4 update
>all non top tiers buffed with extra attention given to lars, chloe, and gigas
>character customizer buffed with a saturation slider and better hair options

succubus womb tattoo for eliza when

That's all I want. A couple of quality of life buffs to the low and middle tiers, maybe a new move for some of the really struggling characters. You listed the exact fix WR2 needs, it just needs to not be so fucking safe on block.

Fix UE4 issue and/or allow PS4 to disable vsync. What I listed above with Lars, Gigas, Maven, Katarina, and maybe 1-2 other characters getting a new move to shore weaknesses and diversify their playstyle. With that a legacy character like Lei and a guest character of Kiryu, Segata Sanshiro, or Kenshiro/Raoh. Finally new fully designed costumes for characters, fuck customs.

I'm mostly bringing this up for color, I didn't play a ton of older Tekken with most of my experience being an arcade with Tekken 3 when I was very young.

Basically, and I don't remember which, but Bryan was at his absolute prime when in either 5 or 6 he had homing properties on his taunt so when you got up it was almost impossible to avoid.

Bryan isn't bad in this game, but he doesn't have that edge that makes him great instead of good. This is where player mastery has to come in. With top tier characters, lots of people can take them to tournaments and play them differently (compare Joey's Jack to Saint's Jack) and carve a niche and innovate through that. With characters that maybe aren't quite at that level, like Bryan, it takes dedicated specialists basically devoting lots of time to just perfecting and finding ways to patch the holes to make them work against top tier opponents, which is what I would say Jimmy is doing now when we look at his most recent Bryan play.

Is Knee a better Bryan than Jimmy if they're both playing at 100%? Probably. Knee is certainly in the conversation for Tekken lifetime achievement award, along with JDCR, but he isn't playing like it lately on Bryan. For whatever reason, though I think what I said in my previous post rings true, Kaz is what's working now. I think he should stick with that and start working on Bryan specifically on PS4.

I wouldn't say no to some number changes for Chloe.

I think Drag has a few more problems outside of WR2, namely just his damage seems way too high for what he does. But yeah, WR2 is the biggest offender. It has as much on block as Siberian Hammer, a giant fucking slow ass move thats ONLY redeeming factor is how plus it is on block and that it gives you a free mini combo.

>Kiryu, Segata Sanshiro, Kenshiro/Raoh as DLC

Look who just blipped on my radar.

At this point I don't know if it's lag or what but I literally mash down as hard as I can when I know a low is coming and still eat the snake edge
Like I don't even see my character duck

that sounds like lag. if you're on 3 bars it's already a challenge.

>Segata Sanshiro

Only if his ending involves him assassinating Harada.

eliza is not a lewd succ

what would Segata even play like because I imagine him as a sort of more exaggerated version of Paul plus Gigas, with giant moves that do huge chunky hits but low on long juggles.

The funny thing about those three characters is that literally all of them can be secured by a single partnership because currently the rights to all those characters can be obtained through Sega.

Another pure grappler like King but it's all judo

but there's no way in hell they'd do that because it'd be too damn good

As it should be. None of these fuckers ever played Sega Saturn.

Has there been any good Miguels or Ninas in recent tournaments? Feels like even the bears are played more than those two in tourneys

I think there's a possibility as Kiryu feels like a perfect fit in Tekken. Harada is not only a fan of all 3 options but the Yakuza team is currently working on a new HnK game and what better promotion for the game by doing a cross promotion with Tekken team by lending then characters so they can include Kazuya and possibly other characters as secret bosses.

Of course I don't think Bamco is willing to put in the money or effort to do this.

you never know. a few months ago i thought "geese for tekken" was just a silly pipe dream and look where we are now.

honestly kiryu has been a super popular choice from fans, you see a ton of people requesting him whenever the idea of DLC gets brought up. it wouldn't be a huge surprise to me if he showed up as the next guest.

in tournaments? unfortunately no but you can still find high level footage of those characters, rare though it might be.

hey the saturn is a way better console than people give it credit for. Great shmups, great fighting games, Panzer Dragoon

it also had NiGHTS which is a giant pile of shit and the fact that it was billed as a killer app is lunacy but hindsight is 20/20

idk about Nina but she's popular enough that you can find footage.

Miguel not so much but the tekken youtuber framewhisperer, who creates really solid guides, has footage of him playing Miguel online at a decent level in Japan. I'd recommend that.

Kiryu makes the most sense out of all of them.

Guys I got this screen capture from Harada himself of the new character that they plan to reveal at Evo Japan

>joey fury

Why does Aris get more viewers than the original stream?
Its just a bearded guy in a green room with his stupid cam up all the time

>even in fighting games, Chilenos hate Bolivianos

Lol Just had a Hwo rage quit

i really want to see Joey move from being like 3rd or 4th best in NA to up there with Jimmy and Anakin

There's currently a big power gap between him and those two. Hell he's below Speedkicks.

>joey free-y

he has at least a few hundred viewers who don't really care at all about fighting games, they just tune in for him.

not looking good for america...

Honestly im happy if anyone other than a korean wins either world tour or evo

Joey Fourthy

I was wondering why the Yamasa boys weren't at the Taiwan major. Today is Kelot Cup 4 in Japan. Its a 3v3 tournament hosted by the frog guys. There should be a lot of good players at it, the last one earlier this year was won by a team with Taisei and Kari.

Its on Yuu Nobi's twitch channel.

does anyone have a VOD of the taiwan tournament match where jeondding beat saint?

chanel beat saint

i don't even get what Alisa does that other characters don't do.
