If ancient civilizations based off of websites (Veeky Forums, Tumblr, Reddit, etc) had popped up in place of our own, how would their culture mirror site culture, and how would their languages develop, etc.
This is assuming that each civilization's citizen at bare minimum is willing to work enough to sustain themselves and their civilization so NEETs wouldn't just destroy something like the Veeky Forums civ and no non-site civilization would ever be formed.

Veeky Forums civ would self-destruct immediately, followed shortly by tumblr. To assume otherwise would be to change them too much to be recognizable.

You are not fooling me Satan. But why would Tumblr collapse? I can understand what you meant by the Veeky Forums civ self-destruction.

Veeky Forums should probably stick to being nomads or pirates.

It'd suit us better to be pirates. No women allowed on ships, the raiding, overall lawlessness due to lack of moderation. Also the feeble honor we uphold for each other on some sort of code.

How so?

I find hilarious that Veeky Forums would probably be more multi cultural that Tumblr.

Veeky Forums would go full Libertalia

I don't know, I think Veeky Forums would reform to a civilization with the general important things for culture such as anonymity and the like.

Comprehensive anonymity is by far the most important aspect of Veeky Forums and its culture. If anonymity could not somehow be maintained in a real life scenario, the civilisation would lose what defines it as Veeky Forums, likely leading to mass exoduses to other civilisations.

Really, though, 4chanlandia would probably collapse quickly simply due to the people that comprise it. We would have a population dominated by extreme ideological divides, obsessive autism, and antisocial tendencies, to say nothing of the xenophobic, tribalistic, and domineering demographic in /pol/, which would probably try to dominate everything in this hypothetical nation. Things would devolve into warlord-dominated anarchy very quickly, and if the /pol/ khaganate did manage to achieve hegemony after enslaving and cleansing the other board tribes, they would go on a campaign of conquest against the other website states, who will either inevitably form an alliance against the barbarians or be overrun by a tide of murderous shitposters.

>/pol/ khaganate

Veeky Forums would be Sea Peoples.

Masks or messages written on walls and shit would work as a form of anonymity.

Most of the other boards hate /pol/, and among them are /v/. Not only that, several of the large boards would form long before /pol/ does.

And I'd say that Veeky Forums's relative earliness allows it to engage in civil wars and shit without any sort of intrusion from other sites.

Veeky Forums will be barbarians who poop on other cities gates to make a statement

tumblr would be an oppressive autocracy that enforces its ideals of "social justice" and "equality" with an iron fist in its own real. it'd constantly declare wars of conquest to take over other realms, mirroring the way social justice cancer has infected other websites over the years

they'd probably collapse after a massive revolt from within their own borders

they hate us, cause they ain't us

Veeky Forums would immediately enter into a civil war with /pol/ going up against a coaliton of cucked boards like /v/ /co/ Veeky Forums and maybe /tv/. /pol/ would have the benefit of organization over these boards and would be able to quickly infiltrate their ranks and overrun them. /pol/ is largely immune to subversion.

It would end in a /pol/ victory. After that, they would go on to conquer other websites. Like a big autistic internet Rome.

I would say that before all that /pol/ would have a civil war (or more than one) in itself. Something like National Socialists vs Libertarians Vs Conservatives Vs Monarchists.

/pol/ is a board of peace, do not belive the lies spread about us, we are a peaceful board, full of puppies, kittens and other cute things people like

wew

This.

Doubt it, /pol/ would be very much like the nazis in WWII, a lethal force, but would be BTFO like they are in this board.

They'd all divulge into civil war, and there'd be a collection of anarchists who would migrate to another Island and shitpost in piece.

They'd be much Rojava, fighting off ISIS (Veeky Forums) and Turkey (Reddit), and Syria (Tumblr), while holding their own and living in freedom.

...

Eh.

>Doubt it, /pol/ would be very much like the nazis in WWII, a lethal force, but would be BTFO like they are in this board.
>/pol/
>BTFO
>in any board ever

Ah yes, the /pol/ wars.

>Sack of Ba/gd/ad by the /pol/ khaganate. The Veeky Forumsris river is said to have run red with blood.
>Birth of /pol/hammad, rise of the /pol/ Caliphate
>/pol/ Caliphate invades the Shogun/a/te and burns down the Library of /a/lexandria, destroying centuries of ancient weeaboo knowledge
>A lone /co/mpany manages to hold off a /pol/ Einsatzgruppen brigade for several days without resupply before being destroyed to a man.
>/pol/ Caliphate routs the /v/arangian guard and captures Constant/pol/ple, eternally cucking the Veeky Forumsantine empire
>Raid on the peaceful Com/mu/ne by /pol/lack corsairs; La/tv/ians guarding their OSTs intervene. Casualties are negligible on the side of the defenders (country music lost)
>C/u/ban Missile Crisis following the failed Bay of Lolis invasion
>/B/attle of Teuton/b/urg Forest: /b/tard irregulars rout an entire /pol/lack invasion force
>/h/annibal crosses the alps, bringing an arm/y/ and a /d/ivision of feared /d/ragoons.
>Battle of Khe S/an/h: /pol/lack paratroopers surrounded and destroyed by fuzzy woodland creatures
>/d/ unleashes a devastating scorched earth strategy and commence slaanesh-tier futanari scatvore terror attacks on /pol/lack invasion forces during Operation /b/arbossa
>fa/sci/st scientists smuggled out of E/u/rope by the Allied Boards. Many lesbians die to secure their escape.
>The City State of Trans/his/tria forms a fleet of trirmemes and defeats the numerically superior /pol/ armada at the battle of Sala/his/
>The /k/raterocracy of /k/ommandos successfully merges Spartan society with manchild autism and copious amounts of Slav milsurp, allying with the Trans/his/trians and defeating the hordes of the /pol/ Caliphate at the battle of /v/ienna

meanwhile, Hungarian LARPfag leads an army of LARPers, who all have the most ridiculous armor that somehow works

Veeky Forums and /cgl/ join together, leading to the quickest growing population thanks to Veeky Forums having no standards and /cgl/ being mostly females. Veeky Forums joins the alliance to gain access to potential gf's, and so Veeky Forums can make them Spartan armor with abs to cover the effects of their bulks

I miss when /pol/ was a tiny insignificant island.

All four sites are heavily compartmentalized and divided, with Reddit being the most compartmentalized (you don't have to ever see subreddits and posts you don't like) and Veeky Forums being the least (almost nobody goes on just one board). It'd be pointless to try to consider them as any kind of unified civilization as opposed to bickering fiefs and tribes.

Beautiful

They would all be inherently democratic, since all three essentially depend on social participation, whether it be (you)s, upvotes or reblogs. They would all be flawed in their own ways, however.

Veeky Forums as a civilization would be closer to an anarchy, though it would also resemble a libertarian democracy. All views are considered to hold equal merit, and the views that receive support (i.e. (you)s) can be either productive (i.e. OC) or deliberately controversial (bait, shitposting, etc.). Individual personalities and cults of personalities are looked down upon unless they provide a valuable service (i.e. drawfagging, writefagging). Veeky Forums would pride itself on being unhindered by identity or governance, valuing debate over actions. As such, very little actually happens save for those within Veeky Forums who manage to unite to a common cause and at least partially abandon the anonymity inherent to Veeky Forums's divisive, bickering culture to accomplish something of worth (Drawfagging, orchestr/a/, /v/ the musical, Katawa Shoujo, etc). A people proud of their freedom who choose to do virtually nothing with it but argue.

A civilization based on Reddit would represent the Tyranny of the Majority. Leaders peddle or simply repeat the views of the Majority, and are supported (i.e. upvoted) by fellow members of the majority for it. Those who espouse minority views are silenced, and tend to form equally insular, oppressive communities-within-communities. Governance within each microcommunity would be smooth and agreeable, but the civilization as a whole would be hopelessly fragmented.

Tumblr is a democracy prone to demagoguery in which a few great individuals (content creators) are idolized and blindly (i.e. reblogging) parroted by a cloud of followers so that they, too, can be quoted and parroted by their own followers. A civilization based on tumblr would be inherently hierarchical, in which social change is dictated entirely by great people and disseminated downwards.

This should be rewarded with a (you). Very well put.

This thread is a great way for those well versed in history and its trends to flex their muscles.

cap this

4chanland would be something like italy in the 1500
a lot of city-states fighting each other for reasons or for the lulz

/r9k/ nowhere to be seen

Very nice.

Anyone capped this?

what boards would prosper, do you think?

I'd say /diy/, Veeky Forums, and Veeky Forums might, if they didn't have relatively low populations. Them's some useful skillsets.

All yours, my friend

>/k/ and /pol/ being enemies

/k/ could survive innawoods
Veeky Forums and Veeky Forums could probably get some kingdom building or something

Veeky Forums land would be shaped in the form of a fucking leaf.

>BTFO like they are in this board

/pol/ is currently top dog on this website. They've got the biggest boards kowtowing to them, and only irrelevant shitholes like Veeky Forums, /mu/ and /co/ stand up to them

I dunno, in almost every thread /pol/ shits up, there's an equal or greater amount of shitflinging going on by board locals. It fills me with hope.

Besides, after Tuesday they'll lose their main source of memery and motivation.

>They've got the biggest boards kowtowing to them
The only large board that really orients with /pol/ is /int/, and judging by all the animeposting it's shared with /a/.

Veeky Forums would never become a uniform nation so many diffrent kind of fags we would be at war constantly

Been on /tv/, /b/ or /r9k/ recently?

/vip/ would just be a barren island aristocratic warlords fighting for scraps.

>/b/
>ever agreeing to kowtow to anyone
I'll admit I haven't been to /tv/ or /r9k/ for a while, but these aren't anything close to the "biggest boards."

I believe that very few boards would have enough population to sustain a semblance of a society.

The civilization would die out because no girls are allowed.

>not raiding /cgl/ for their finest women

I'm /k/ my dude. I figured /k/ would be like Sparta historically and sometimes oppose, sometimes side with /pol/ like they did with Persia against Athens depending on the politics of the time.

I'd guess /k/ would be a huge forested area with
Albania-tier amounts of bunkers (or I guess just forts in this case) overlooking the various communities scattered throughout.

How is this Veeky Forums related
