If Germans had landed the British would have gassed them like they did the Indians.

I like the part where the Germans would have had to attack Napoleonic-era fortifications without any heavy weapons, because they couldn't land any artillery and the planning for fire support was "the Luftwaffe will handle it."

If they could ship men across safely then they could ship artillery across safely. The fact is they couldn't do either.

not only gas, they had other nasty stuff prepared like epidemics and shit

Why gas them when you can just shoot them?

Why not both?

The British army would have dunkirked from their own island to go hide on Ireland instead

The kriegsmarine was irrelevant

>tfw they are a wehreaboo sperg

yeah of course they would treat their own island like a city in france

>Implying they wouldn't
Churchill certainly would

/int/ please, all they had to do is stall on land long enough for the RN to blast all those river barges to bits. The Germans would be lucky to reach London.

Makes me think

What about all those 40 yo vets from WW1?

Were they useful?

sealion was scrapped for a reason

frankly even if the RAF had been soundly defeated I think it still would have been suicide

>The Germans would be lucky to reach land.
fixed

in all honesty they did do a serious professional wargame of operation sealion in 1974 using both sides records of what was available and the prevailing weather at the time.

it was a utter disaster for the germans

To be fair, in said wargame (and they made a number of beneficial assumptions on the Germans part) they did reach land, just couldn't resupply the beachhead. Given local Luftwaffe air superiority, you don't want your fleet hanging around waiting for an invasion that might or might not come. The British plan was to keep it north, out of bomber range, wait for the Germans to land, and then rush out and strike now that there's a visible target.

also true is that in their scenario a number of the german barges simply foundered in the crossing.

and the RN plans did include light forces disrupting any landing fleet (destroyers and MTBs) the ships that could be risked more readily

*Dads army theme starts playing*

Who do you think you are kidding Mr Juncker?

loled

>Battle of Stalingrad = Battle of London
Britain was irrelevant and more trouble than it was worth.
