on the positive-
>a lot of really annoying weapons were deservedly nerfed. dead ringer, reserve shooter, crit a cola, danger shield, all dead.
>the new maps look good though i haven't played on any yet
>the sfm was great
>some cool taunts
>all the campaign stuff is cool
>flamethrower is no longer busted as shit
>airblast is no longer busted as shit
>fixed voice codec
>fixed some annoying bugs, god knows how annoying it was to see a solider shoot out of his escape plan rocket launcher hybrid
>party updates, these seem really useful considering how annoying it was to party up before
>no longer have to be in the casual menu to queue up, really welcome change
>a couple useless weapons got some much needed buffs

on the negative-
>no changes to competitive at all, extremely disappointing and comp will certainly remain dead until this is updated
>casual changes are incredibly minimal aside from minor quality of life changes, i would genuinely rather wait for the update to come out later if it fixed matchmaking issues
>some obviously superior weapons have remained completely untouched, expect a lot of diamondback spies in the wake of the ambassador nerf
>a lot of useless weapons have also remained untouched, especially a lot of pyro weapons shockingly enough
>random crits have not been removed
>new pyro weapons seem a bit gimmicky and underwhelming but i'll hold off on locked down opinions until i get a chance to try them out

overall a lot of really great small changes and i like a lot of the balance desicsions (rip bad spies, scouts and snipers) but the really big issues plaguing the game are still prevalent aside from some minor quality of life changes. the gameplay itself will still be a lot more fun now that the most broken weapons in the game are getting nerfed into the dirt, but it'll still be a pain in the ass to get into those games. it is an improvement over meet your match.

Words alone cannot contain the amount of disappointment I feel right now. I expected nothing, and Valve still manages to let me down.

Crossbow should have been nerfed harder imo. Otherwise the changes that did happen were good. I'm annoyed that they didn't release the update today like everyone expected but I'd rather them iron out any kinks in order to prevent another MyM catastrophe happening. Granted, they should have already done that but I just ate a great steak and I'm feeling pretty good as a result of that
