List some shit that keeps stupid people broke. I'll start

>Cable television

>Cigarettes/alcohol/drugs

>Financed/Rent-to-own furniture

>Not immediately paying off a credit card balance

Rent to own electronics

This is the worst. If you can't afford to buy a nice couch or big TV outright, then you need to put your priorities elsewhere. Having to finance a big screen TV is absurd.

Capatalism

>keeping up with the Jones'
>being house poor
>car title loans
>pawn shop loans
>payday loans
>credit card cash advances

>lottery tickets
>Buying designers clothes
>Financed used car
>Giving money to charity and non-profits

>keeping up with the Jones'

Sorta hit the nail on the head. I disagree with OP's alcohol comment too much spending on it is a mistake but using alcohol to network and build relationships is needed. A lot easier to sell if everyone's tipsy

Basically anything that accrues interest is a huge reason people stay poor because they don't look at the long-term

OP here. My bad, yeah my intended statement was more against the general abuse of alcohol. I don't deny it's power help make friends and influence people.

How much do you think people donate that it affects they're financial situation? I work in fundraising and 75% of all gifts are below $50... Let's say they invest that $50 for 10 years at 10% (exciting I know, also annuity because might as well) that's gonna be less than $800 at the end. How is that going to make you poor?

Donating money you don't have would but people don't do that...

Yeah agreed. Honestly abusing anything fucking $5 at McDonald's a day doesn't help

It builds up so fucking quick and within a year or two all they say is that the government is holding them down.

Being black

You spelled socialism wrong.

Stretching a purchase over x amount of time is not nessecarily disadvantageous economically. Only retards would claim this.
Many times by paying small fees you can take caer of your nesecities right now without throwing away all our money, thus being able to make more with it, as long as you can make it more profitable than the interest you lose for using credit.

It's amazing how capitalist can't admit that capitalism is what's wrong. They will blame it on anything even the mythical socialism. Anything to keep from calling it what it is.

>being house poor
What does this mean?

I need to dust off the The Money Pit, that movie always makes me laugh

means buying so much house you can't afford anything else.

in real life it's not actually a problem since over time your income goes up and your house payment goes down.

>Cigarettes/alcohol/drugs
Half of the reason I even got the job I have is because I brought some nice cigars and whisky to a game of gold with my bosses.

I see your point if you're some nigger drinking forties and smoking newports 24/7, but don't underestimate giving a nice cigar to your boss.

>game of gold
Kek. Meant game of gold. Freudian slip.

It's amazing how socialists can't admit that socialism is what's wrong. They will blame it on anything even the mythical capitalism. Anything to keep from calling it what it is.

The only stupid bill besides basic utilities I pay is internet. Need to cut back on alchohol but I don't buy expensive shit and it's still a good snack drink.

Cable is a rip off nowadays. Nobody has time to watch that much TV, just torrent any shows you HAVE to watch.

wtf is game lf gold retard

>giving money to charity and non-profits
one of the many ways rich don't pay taxes

I'll admit I'm drunk as fuck. Kek. GAME OF FUCKING WHITE MAN'S GOLF.

people who finance furniture should jump off their house

>unironically racist.
>thinks capitalism isn't going to rape his gaping ass for it.

>give a million dollars to charity
>would have had to pay 0 dollars of that to taxes beforehand
>it's tax deductible
>get 250,000 back in taxes, so 750,000 net lost
>hurrrr you need to pay more taxes

I hide my power level well, Pajeet. See you in the ovens kek.

I'd fuck a brown woman, don't get me wrong, m9.

>I hide my power level well, Pajeet.
GOP just voted down internet privacy protections, you're not hiding a thing.

>GOP just voted down internet privacy protections, you're not hiding a thing.
>not using a VPN
>thinking you ever had privacy under Obongo who had more prosecuted more whistle blowers than any other Prez in history
Wew lad.

you're the expert. No way your words or actions will ever come back to bite you, right?

>implying drugs dont make me reasonably well off
> €3 for a gram (over a weeks worth) of amphetamine is expensive

NEETs showing.

The #1 thing keeping people in lower-middle class is FUCKING EATING OUT.

Most of my friends making 2-3k after tax a month feel rich and eat out for lunch every day, 4 evenings a week and have brunch on sunday.

That's 10-15$ for lunch, 40-50$ for evening and another 40$ for brunch.

Being conservative it amounts to 1040$ dollars spent every month. Then add in rent, car and mobility expenses, phone bill and other random shit and you'll find a guy making 2500$ after tax living paycheck by paycheck.

I hate them.

Daytrading.

Nobody buys designer clothes, but if everyone did, they would not have to spend money multiple times, cause their pseudo-fashion overpriced "Kalvin Klein" or "Gucci" were torn apart.
t. I am from old /fa.

The issue is if you are like my grandmother. She is a lovely, generous and kind woman... but her debt management is horrific, and she passed it somewhat onto my mother. Sure, we get gifts out of it, but using 'pay nothing and no interest for x months' deals just to forget about them for that long means she is always paying something off with super interest rates. That said, I think she is counting on passing away before having to pay everything off, missing the fact it will likely come out of the inheritence.

I'm trying to break away from the 'keeping myself poor' mindset as best I can.'grew up' sometime last year, and honestly don't know how I can help my family.

Trying to point out that if we just build a buffer fund for the monthly bills, my dad wouldn't be stressed out and irritable around bill week due to not being sure the lump sum (the household living money) that can't be touched on pain of death will be enough. It's the bill equivilent of living paycheck to paycheck. If I reasonably point out that $300 saved up and put into the bank, and what is used replaced every time and not touched, we could not have the monthly drama.

Not properly budgeting. I don't know many people who add up the amount they spend on necessities per month and set aside the proper funds. All I ever see is reckless spending and then groveling and begging for more money or time come bill time.

Meh, as an alchaholic i will say poor money management is the big one

Quit buying 1 gallon of water, burger, sandwich, jerky, red bull, etc $20 a day 7 days a week.

Paid off my house.

~$600 a month raise to myself.

Better health

>over time your income goes up
Hopefully.
>your house payment goes down
Unless you have a specific type of mortgage that does that, no, it doesn't. Your house payments remain constant until the mortgage ends.

Being house poor is a real problem.

>mythical socialism.

Peoperty tax, sales tax, medicare, medicate, state and federal tax witholdings, capital gains tax, giving money monthly through theft to my neighbor who is on welfare with a mew car and disability because (muh back) while he splits wood with an axe and runs a dozer part time for cash.

Fuckoff u leftist cuck over half od my money goes to u faggits and i am done.

>Cable television
How so?

Pls no

Sadly i grew up this way.

I read rich dad poor dad and it helped.

>Working for minimum wage.

>working for BELOW minimum wage
See: MLM scams.

>having car
>eating at restaurants
>buying clothes before your old is destroyed
>supporting developers
>going on vacations
>not using notebook to save electricity
>not stealing wifi for free internet
>having mobile phone
>paying taxes

Most poorfags that I know don't reuse their toiler paper. It has two sides for a reason.

Leasing vehicles year after year after year. Especially when they get leases they can't afford because they can't afford to finance it.

What. The. Fuck.

This is probably the wrong thread to ask in, but is there any benefits to leasing a vehicle?

>buying porn
>not making your own porn

Lease for work, particularly trucks

Not really to my knowledge, my family (when I was a kid) used to lease a vehicle, however that was when the family was growing into its final size (3 siblings plus me). It wasn't wise to buy a car at any point, since we would end up outspacing it. Once the last kiddo came, a car was bought.

We had that car, and then two used cars (at different times) that were used for in-city transit.

That one car they bought is almost 10 years old, and hasn't experienced any trouble from what I know. They told me it would have paid for itself close to two times what a lease would have been in a year.

>5m X 5m enclosure for an animal that large.
FUCKING DUMB BURGERS

>no, it doesn't.
Inflation

In relative terms it decreases

Inflation also increases your other costs though.

>Financed/Rent-to-own furniture
And cars.

And?

Your mortgage will decrease as a percent of income, even if your income only increases with inflation

meme coins

>being born into a poor family
>not having strong family contacts
>lack of affordable housing options
>growing up in an environment which doesn't value education
>rushing into university before getting experience
>voting for parties who represent the interests of a coalition of the privileged elite
>finding enjoyment in life that doesn't involve accumulation of capital
>having the audacity to want a healthy work life balance
>accepting presentee office culture and not demanding overtime for work over contracted hours
>not unionising where possible
>suppressing their class consciousness and sucking the dick of corporate feudalists who buy yachts with the surplus value of their labour while refusing to increase wages

Wew that really hit the nail on the head

cigs/alc/drugs/gambling/fast food are vices to keep the poor content with their shitty lives. No sane, clear headed person heads to the grunt factory everyday to produce nothing for themsevles and worth for me, but they go home , sit on the couch, drink a beer, hit the bong, maybe even get a bj, then they're content with their shitty life until they wake up the next morning and the cycle continues.

Obviously he didn't mean slugging a few back with clients and striking a deal is something that keeps poor people poor.

weed

Eating
Breathing
Drinking
Moving

All these things are a waste

If you intend to move or relocate before the lease period is up than it makes sense to do so.

Also, you may want to lease a car when you have a seasonal or market dependent job that requires you to drive around clients (Real Estate Agent, Insurance Salesman, etc.)

A car depreaciates in wealth super quickly, it basically loses most of its worth over a span of 5 years. So if you want a new car you might as well lease it, and lease a new one, once the old lease expires.

*worth, not wealth obv

Divorce

This.

I've been wearing the same two pairs of Abercrombie & Fitch khakis for the past 4 years. Every other no-name brand of pants that I've owned have some sort of rip, tear, or button missing after only like 1 year of wearing. I don't even do anything that should cause them to rip.
I'm responsible with my possessions.

>borrowing $ and paying (((high interest rates)))

>not watering their penis trees

>getting married and not just donating to a sperm bank to carry on your genes
>not spending every waking moment on gaining capital

>The wealthy don't drink
>The wealthy don't gamble
I'm sure the self help book you read that from was very convincing, but the rich spend a shitton of money on fine wine and liquors.

Its a lot easier to spend a shit ton of money on gambling, hookers, alcohol and cigarettes when you make hundreds of thousands a year, compared to 15,000 a year.

Definitively this.

Living in shithole country, and my friends do the same, it seems to be a global disease.

People living with their families (most do here), with no other expenses but themselves, live paycheck to paycheck because go clubbing/ drinking out/dinnering out 2-3 times a week

Also
>eating junk food
>buying things that do not need/can't afford

Sure, but they spend a larger amount relative to their pay as well. Of course the only source I can find for this right now is a Washington Post article but im sure their source is somewhere out there.

Just fucking wash it and then use 2-3 pieces to dry.
>Cleaner, faster, cheaper

Dont ever wuote thos cucks as a news source ro me or my son again

>having mobile phone

what kind of job do you have where you don't need a mobile phone??

Yes, but they can easily save a vast amount of money, and have a vast amount in investments. You can only smoke so many cigarettes, drink so much alcohol, take so many drugs, screw so many hookers, therefore the ratio of expenditure compared to someone on a pittance is vastly different.

ergo..they have way more money, and can do way more, and still save, and invest.

So much this.

You can get a 55 inch flatscreen on Craigslist for $100.

And yet a company like Aarons exists. It's true what they say, you can't fix stupid.

If you're the kind of person that needs a new car every 2 or 3 years, it's not a bad deal, but still much more costly than just buying a car.

>Financed used car
wait why is this one bad if you put money down and know what the car loan rate is going to be

>being Indian

>no car
>no vacations
>no mobile phone
>no taxes
>stealing internet

I'm not sure there is a job involved for him

I don't watch TV.
I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs.
I don't rent anything except my apartment.
I don't have any credit cards.

I am still broke. Can't even find work as a camera operator. Position is so competitive, it just gets watered down by people who will accept the least amount of money. By the end of the day, I want to start a business but I have no capitol, so no business loan for me.

I'm poor with decent ideas and ambitions and can't get away from it.

>not using reusable toilet paper
>brushing teeth
>deodorant
>buying food instead of dumpster diving for it

>>being born into a poor family
No excuse
>>not having strong family contacts
No excuse
>>lack of affordable housing options
Move cities
>>growing up in an environment which doesn't value education
No excuse. What is self teaching?
>>rushing into university before getting experience
Not an argument.
>>voting for parties who represent the interests of a coalition of the privileged elite
How does that stop YOU from succeeding again? If you can't succeed without someone offering you a ladder, you're pondscum anyway.
>>finding enjoyment in life that doesn't involve accumulation of capital
No such thing.
>>having the audacity to want a healthy work life balance
Find a job that's also a hobby.
>>accepting presentee office culture and not demanding overtime for work over contracted hours
If you don't take legal action against someone who is giving you illegal treatment, that's your own fault.
>>not unionising where possible
I mean I guess, if you're stupid and like not having a job.
>>suppressing their class consciousness and sucking the dick of corporate feudalists who buy yachts with the surplus value of their labour while refusing to increase wages
Why not open your own business?

woke a.f

>not using torrent

It's the cheapest drug there is, and you can literally grow it for free. I have a stoner friend who's a chartered accountant making ten times what I do, and he's high 24/7.

Do what I did. Humble yourself, take any job no matter how shitty, and sacrifice years building capital until you can do what you really want to do.

Or just complain about it on Veeky Forums whatever man it's your life

Invest in cocaine and wageslave away at hard labor construction work until you get the desired capital

That webm made me physically uncomfortable

no you're wrong, most of your tax money goes to the Military who buys guns bombs and tanks. 1% of total federal tax goes towards people with disability, welfare, food stamps, and other social programs.

A good chunk of the actual pie goes towards blowing people up.

And in a capitalist/republic disguised for what it really is (an oligarchy of wealthy hand me down families that run everything.... like every powerful nation)

their prime objective which is to blow up lesser fortunate countries that can pose threats. So be it a communist/democratic/socialist/ All of it is still capitalism which are all branches of monetary government.

You're gunna get someone taking your money if it's a nazi or your nabour, at least the nabour can enjoy your 3 cents a month you give him from your check for his * muh back* well the rest of it goes to allahu-akbar for oil.

Aussie here.

Who the fuck needs a mobile phone. Fuck these cunts today using them all the time. I am sick of them. You call me on the landline.

I see these little old ladies in the telstra shop or something looking at these gay ass chinaman made mobile phones and looking at $70 a month plans or some gay shit like that. I think to myself, oh yeah probably to keep up with the scumbag millennial grandkids or something.

If the fuckin grankids cant call you on the landline or come over the visit you once in a while, fuck em.

Im 22 and I cant stand people my age. Bunch of fucking wimpy technological cunts they are.

>nations that can pose threats

Not so, the nations US/UK blows up are never a real threat, they are nations that refuse a (((central bank))), or stand in the way of money making ventures like oil pipelines or trade routes. Unless Iraq really did have WMDs kekekekekekekek
