Hindsight is 20/20. Major changes in code in middle of the war can lead to great confusion and disastrous results if not handled correctly.

This is such a common myth.
Tiger's were produced in their own little factory and basicly were elite tanks. Not even alot of material was "wasted" on them. Especially looking at how they were actually quite effective.

No the mayor fuck up is the entire nazi-German industry itself. It just had no massive centralised industry like the other powers. Things got build in spread out factories, this ofcourse greatly helped when they got bombed to shit but still.
Also the meme that they only began war time production in fucking 1943 didnt help.

What wasted the most materials was the absolute massive amount if flak batteries they produced.
