People don't the 4th perk in the top tree of Voidwalker, that makes the Nova bomb slow, but I actually prefer it to a regular one.

The only other class you should avoid buying perks on is Hunter top tree Golden Gun (avoid Six Shooter) and Hunter bottom tree Nightstalker (avoid Moebius Quiver).
