pistols are useful

Rich Evans voicepack when?

Post yfw a soldier gets the perfect Training Center perk

This is what happens to those who are most loyal to ADVENT.

So there's the beefy muscly Central and other male operatives with the lewd mods, but has anyone made joocy braphogs yet?

Still no new mods on the workshop
Panic mode engaged

>Rich Evans trooper shouting 'AYYYYYYYYDS' every time he gets poisoned

hnnnnnggh

T H I C C

Sadly no.

>spots an enemy
>AWWW MOY GOOOOYYYYD

>kills an enemy
>*his eardrum-shattering cackle*

>kill large group of enemies
>*Rich Evans laughter intensifies*

Reminder that Strike rifles can't compete with sniper rifles.

user why haven't you done a playthrough with all snipers ?

What the fuck was going on here?

Sounds like hell
>70% miss
>70% miss
>70% miss
>70% miss

Unspeakable acts

This is where Advent turns innocent humans into into a collaborators.

Do you think a Spectre could use his ability to fill out all of your holes?

Good times

Swords are OK too.

Wholesome things. It's a classroom for wholesome teachings about the Elders.

>alien activity
never open a cell door (or any door) on your last turn

Mod that does all of this when?

I didn't, that's the funny part. I had put my entire squad on overwatch because the Elders' greatest meme was over by the evac throwing his usual spectral zombies at us, and just as the last zombie fell the cell door flew open and that Spectre burst out. Guess they saved me the trouble of hacking the lock, at least.

Eat magic, preacherman!

I once had two snipers finish the third or fourth mission after I evacuated my bleeding out ranger on the first encounter. One was specced for pistols (he... had return fire), and he just went in and hunkered, acting as a spotter for the other one.

He got mindcontrolled twice, but since enemies don't attack mind controlled units I got off without a scratch. Was pretty fun.

>Jaroslav Majesky is obsessed.

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1177720393

Usually I don't like enemy mods but this seems like it'd
synergize really well with Beta Strike.

What's the difference between obsession and ordinary panic anyway?

They move toward the obsessee

Playing on Commander
Date is April 18th
I have T2 assault rifles, pistols and skirmisher guns
Rest is still T1
Should I get more tech before going for the ADVENT Blacksite?

You could get up to T3 and then start the blacksites.
There's no time limit in this game, though as much as it's strict in timers during missions, I think it should add time limits in story-related missions so there's actual difficulty in the game.

The longer you wait the harder the mission gets (until you reach lategame).

>The longer you wait the harder the mission gets

Excuse me, did we play the same game?

I mean, technically it scales, but it definitely doesn't scale as hard as your soldiers and gear do.

I mean it scales to you. That's why I specified "until lategame."

I find it's actually hardest in midgame rather than early because the forcelevel is pushed up a month so you're facing the lategame enemies but you're not a god yet.

...

Would you play an X(-)COM-like game if the soldiers under your command were not current-day humans? (e.g. aliens, cyborgs, orcs, etc.)

wew lad, i'm having a day so bad that even the captcha is insulting me

Hell yeah I would.
I desperately want a fantasy X-Com. Theres a few similar games, but none with the level of polish and looking-fucking-rad that XCom has.

I would love that, yes

If it's of a good enough quality to be worth playing, in a heartbeat.

Yes

Cool game, but I don't see how it relates to the question

>Jake and his "the player can only empathize with humans" attitude BTFO

Not really. A couple of autists aren't representative of what the majority would want.

Statistics are on Jake's side on this.

What statistics?

Statistics show a winning smile can sell just about anything to the masses. Nobody has a smile winnier than Jake.

Every time an MMO or RPG with multiple races releases player stats, it shows that the vast majority of players choose the human race, with the second choice being near-human races like elf. Weird-looking or ugly races are at the bottom every time.

This statement is used with no context and like it's absolute.
He's talking about a setting (not just your squad, which is much easier to become attached to due to mechanical reasons), why people intrinsically care about earth and what happens to the people there. It doesn't mean you can't craft an alien world and race of people that the player won't care about, but it does mean that it's not as natural and would take work to convince the player to care.

You pop a player into X-COM or XCOM and they instantly understand the stakes, the environments are more comfy, and the plot progresses logically from there.

>assassin stronghold
>sarcophagus gone, need about three regular hits to kill her for good
>is weak to templars and brittle
>run up to her ass and crit for 24 damage in one rend and drop her dead

>I can't relate with a machine, give us human Mec troopers back
feels familiar?

To be fair, SPARKS as a concept could have been pushed much farther. They could have been cooler and had more personality, though Julian handles that part nicely. Also you could do the same MEC things with aliens and it would work. The human component isn't as necessary as the sacrifice/transformation to big badass stuff

I always play the weird and ugly races because they seem more interesting to me. If XCOM was an MMO I'd be playing Sectoid or Muton or something.

The lack of personality is the only real flaw with SPARKs as far I'm concerned. I love big stompy robots, it's just that they're flat to the point that it's hard to tell if they're sentient or just very advanced autonomous drones.

I like SPARKS, but they don't really have a lot of heart after you've done the mission/installed Julian in one. And with WotC you likely don't have either one other than just having a Julian. I still like the big beepboops.

Poor little white human.

I blame bits, SPARKS would be much better if shooting rockets or doing other special abilities was done by the robot itself.
Plus the punch is severly lacking in visuals

>Plus the punch is severly lacking in visuals
I don't think I even know what it looks like, I'm pretty sure I always pick it's opposite skill.

BITs are so fucking useless

like 5 hack

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Ayy someone saved my webm

That's the Spirit.

>Ayy someone saved my webm
And I love you for creating it.

That's a big lid.

anyone have the one of the MEC punching the uber-ethereal off his platform? I thought I had it but now I can't find it.

UUUU

Quiet day isn't it.

Would you date a Chrisalid queen?

...

HERESY

I WANT A VIPER WIFE.

The Chosen Avenger defense missions are fucking intense, I just it wasn't the same map every time.

> 2 specialists and a grenadier get Death From Above in the Training Center.

Am I remembering correctly that DFA is really good on non-snipers? They can shoot indefinitely as long as they get killing blows?

>I just it wasn't the same map every time.

It's not though. There's several different maps. I think they generate according to location.

Also the figure in the back is spooky.

> everyone set up on overwatch
> in stealth
> put my ranger at point blank range
> ayy turn
> viper looks dead at him
> ayy turn finishes set everyone on overwatch again
> nuke them with grenade
> my sniper fires crits the viper
Lulz
> the other troops are taken out
I'm just glad the viper couldn't see my ranger standing 20 feet away pointing a shotgun at him

>detect ufo
>scout class, contains Ethereal+cadre
>theyre dead meat already
>get to lz
>Operation Rotting Priest
lol

>first mission on classic difficulty
>one fucking survivor
>think about how this is probably going to be how the entire campaign goes
>its called Operation Dark Heart
fuck

I should make a Fractured But Whole OST mod

youtube.com/watch?v=JebLfD-ZWn0

wat

I'm beginning to think this meme pattern and coloration was a mistake.

Can we talk for a bit about how bullshit some of the missions in War of the Chosen are?

>6 turn timer to hack workstation
>2 turrets, sectoid, 2 troopers
>Of course they reverse direction of their patrol and walk right into my non-set up squad
>OH BEE TEE DUBYA THERE ARE 3 PRIESTS BACK THERE THAT JUST GOT TRIGGERED!
>LOLOLOL HERE'S THE WARLOCK TOO
>Mind control, stasis, stasis, I'm still in early game so only have 5 troopers
>LOLOLOL HERE'S SOME SPECTRAL ZOMBIES

I love this game, but seriously. Fuck this game sometimes.

Somebody else can vent now, I've done my bitching.

And I'm sure I'll either make another one or add it on to that one with clips from this LW campaign.

Here user:

>tfw even the modding scene is fucking dead

WotC was supposed to be the fire that reignites XCOM 2

What happened?

The timers are all kinds of fucked, sometimes you get 10 turns when you only need 4

If you think turret train missions are bad as they are try them with a high ground mod.

SHUT THE FUCK UP

The modding scene is not fucking dead because dipshits like you refresh the workshop fifteen times an hour and expect something to show up constantly. This shit takes time and I wouldn't be satisfied uploading broken shit.

Fuck off retard.

>People aren't uploading low effort mods every day so the scene is dead
sasuga shitposter-kun

It's over anons. I'm sorry.

Just let go.

I guess we really were the bore of the chosen™ all along

Bore of the Snoozen. It's confirmed.

Goddamnit.

Bore of the Chosen confirmed

It's Snore of Le Chozo. Get it right.

I just start the game up and immediately get bored. Jake really fucked up big time.

I got sick of it before XCom 2 was ever conceived. Biggest blunder of the century.

Honestly I'm so happy I beat my L/I WOTC campaign and never have to feel obligated to play X2 again.

1-2 Anons have been posting about his LW1 campaign more than anyone has been posting about their X2 campaigns.

M8 I sunk 140+ hours into X2 when WotC came out within 2 weeks, I needed a change of pace. After this campaign I'm going to be doing another WotC run with all the mods I'd like that've released since I've taken break.

I'm sealing the coffin on this snoozer and detonating X4 charges

...

I never understood what's the big deal with the hive queen, they are really easy to kill.

Apparently my specialist can exist in 2 places at once
