Wrong. Worse in every way. Level design, boring bossfights, music, the colour scheme being 99% grey ass boring stone rooms, music is unmemorable except for the Abyss Watchers, shit tier poise system (if you had a problem with DS1 poise you are just plain bad) the only thing it has going for it are graphics and the fact it has 2 DLCs instead of one. It is easier to CO-OP, and that's it.

I just downloaded DS2 after doing way too many playthroughs of DS1 and DS3. Is Quality build still the go-to, or what would you guys recommend for my first playthrough?

There are very few weapons that really benefit from quality. Single stat or single stat + magic is the way to go.

Pure STR was my go-to. Fume is god tier in that game, but I used Str-Fai as well which is great too

I went to like, 55 fth, and about 40 attunement or so.
Lightning spears got all kind of nerfed because some e-celeb bullshit, so at base level they get like 3 casts. But later on with more attunement I was getting about 11.

I was doing STR/FTH at first on my current playthrough but I switched to all in on FTH and it's pretty good. Miracles help with a lot of the annoying parts of the game and if anything gives me trouble with my normal weapons, the disc chime fucking melts it. The melee damage on that thing is obscene. I was getting tired of Smelter Demon's shit run so I just walked up to him and mashed R2 until he died instead of fighting him properly.

Any chance you remember the build any?

Also, is there a recommended Adaptability amount, or just max that shit?

You don't need much ADP on a caster build since you get agility through ATT. I've been using powerstance caestus as my weapon, it's not very optimal but it is fun.

Alright so I got hit with the broken infused dagger parry for the last time. I'm now going to also abuse this weapon too.

Can any one recommend other 3rd person action dungeon crawlers like the souls series? Don't care the platform, just want to do some action dungeon exploring and all I find it Diablo or JRPG combat recommendations.

The only worthwhile Soulslike is Nioh. Area design and enemy variety are very bad compared to Souls (especially enemy variety, it's shit) but the combat is really good. It does some things different from Souls combat, like having 3 stances you can switch to on the fly, and letting you see the stamina bar of enemies. Never played the DLC, so can't say if those are worth it. Bosses are worse than Souls too, forgot to add that. I never played The Surge or Lords of the Fallen, I'd rather fight Bed of Chaos blindfolded.

Both are fine.
Starting Knight, 16/74 has 467 AR when Sharp infused.
Starting Warrior, 26/40/40 has 450 AR when Hollow.

Both 120, 39 VIG 30 END and 2 handed. If you're hollowed you can save 5 points off that with the luck boost. Apart from that, the only other benefit you get is a small bleed boost, which is not worth building around. Knight also has extra ATN and VIT, which is nice because the WA gives some hyper armor.
