I feel like the class is one of the best balanced in the game. They aren't worthless like Ronin, but they aren't broken either, nor they're mandatory. They work just fine by doing good damage but nothing over the top like Dark Hunter that immediately kills any difficulty the game might have (except for like one FOE and the true final boss). Very fun to use too.

Pug is probably the most powerful class overall, its basically required for every single super powerful combo due to overexertion, but even ignoring overexertion they deal a lot of damage, have strong binds and even some utility

Stun Gas, which paralyzes, comes from mobs in stratum 2, very early on. If you don't have paralyze in your party you'll need to go back with a few of those after he respawns.
