Defense missions are usually what people use to level up weapons, but don't worry about leveling this early, just unlock all planets ASAP then you start worrying about stuff

Like overall or the ones that you can do right now? Overall people are using Hydron on Sedna for ranking up, which is a defense map with a very small tileset so enemies spawn close and fast. That's quite far away for you though. You can get the exact same layout but with lower level enemies on Helene, Saturn. It's only very slightly less effective.

Right now Appolodorus on Mercury or Everest on Earth is probably the most xp you can get.

Interception provides the most affinity/time in theory (minus stealth finisher exterminates or whatever), but I doubt you have the gear to cut down enemies fast enough for that. Just run any of the endless modes (excluding surrival) or MDs and bug out when things get too tough.

For intro primaries, the Latron, Karak, Grakata, Hek, and Vectis are pretty good. Keep in mind that mods will have larger impacts on your personal strength rather than crafting new weapons.
