Is it worth buying?
I haven't played a shooter besides Overwatch in a good long while (if you count OW), and I like the idea of going back to WWII, but is it actually any different overall? Is the zombie campaign good? Sledgehammer has only tried zombies once, and it was kinda iffy.

Don't really care much about the campaign, just the zombies and multiplayer. If anything, I'm happy about hearing that the campaign is shorter and more concentrated.

I was wondering the same thing. I got bored of the series back during black ops and I've heard it's only gotten worse since then.

They all said they've liked it and we've played CoD together since BO1. We generally have disliked/liked the same releases, so I'm sure this one is good as they all enjoy it.

Nice, which games have you preferred? I started with Modern Warfare 2, and I was a big fan of Black Ops. CoD has kinda gone like Assassin's Creed, though, where every iteration goes further in the future, and gets shittier as a consequence. I'm worried that WWII is gonna be like Origins and suck even though they went back to their roots.

You got bored with Black Ops? I was a big fan of the original. The successive iterations got progressively weirder, but again, they went forward in time. Modern is boring.

I have played them all but CoD3 and Ghosts, starting with CoD1 back in the day.
I have liked them all but Infinite Warefare (obvious reasons, just played beta), BO2 (connection issues for entire release), and Advanced Warfare (connection and SBMM). All of my connection issues were a complete wonder as I always have my system in the DMZ, mid-to-top tier speeds (minimum 25d/3u), and am skilled. I recommend watching OvenBakedMuffin videos for insight on this if you ever wondered. He's inactive now though.

Just asked my main CoD friend and he said he'd give it a 9/10, but that he never would give anything a 10.

I was a big fan of Infinite Warfare, but only the campaign. I never tried the multi.

I never played Infinite because I was so done with the series at that point. Advanced Warfare was ass except for the grappling hook mode. All in all I think I like Treyarch more than Sledgehammer and its predecessor, but I am interested in seeing what they do with an old school setting. I'm really just worried that their zombie mode will suck, since there's not much you can do to fuck up the multiplayer besides add exo suits. By the way, it seems like multiplayer is more class driven this time around; is that true? I'd actually prefer it if the you were a little more locked into your loadout options

Just played my first match. This feels extremely similar to World at War. I so far would recommend based on the little things I like so far.

Campaign is always the same thing to me: fast paced, loose storyline (especially since most cutscenes are loud noises with talking about anything and fast movement camera omg so much exciting action).
I play them all though.

From what my friends have explained the classes are only so until you level up so much you can use everything. It's like Battlefield for only so long.

CoD was made to full party up and get drunk. That's my favorite part.

It's asinine to but a game because it's fun to play with friends? Modern warfare 2 was arguably a piece of shit game, but me and my friends loved getting on just to fuck around.

The lack of class locking is kind of a shame. I like having role based loadouts; I've never liked being able to put any gun and any perk on every class slot.

War might be the most fun game mode on here besides the OG S&D.
It's different every map, too. It doesn't count as any stat if you're a KD whore either, so you're good to actually just try to win as hard as possible and have fun.

My favorite so far was storming a Normandy-like beach.

It's actually pretty fun so far

Campaign isn't as dumb as previous ones, and is a lot better paced. Most characters are stereotypes, but they're well voice acted and actually have interacting personalities.

I'm still working on the multiplayer, but if you want to run and gun, there's a class for you, and if you want to sit down and gun people down who walk into your sights, there's that too.

I was going to get this but the maps look horrible and many people say theyre terrible. Are they that bad? I have higher standards because Im a KD whore. Oh and they streaks seem bad too, what about that? Is there really no Mosin Nagant also?

Maps are decent, just all over the place. The streaks are amazing and fun in my opinion.
As far as the Mosin Nagant I dunno, I don't see it. Google it up I guess. I'm digging every gun I've used so far though, but grip is a necessity on what I've used for anything medium range or farther.

I played for a couple hours last night, havent played since cod4. I'm total shit but I had fun. Would recomend, there seems to be lots to do.

My only gripe with this game is the audio and audio settings need an overhaul. Settings are basically non-existent and the audio itself - footsteps echo half the timefor fuck's sake. Noises are overly loud while other things are overly quiet.

This may just be because I'm an Astro-fag.

Like, Blops 3 and AW both had 13, and MW2 and 3 each had 16.

Tbqh it hits a bit harder that normal considering I'm not feeling like these 9 are great or anything, and 'The Resistance' map pack was announced like 6 days ago, before launch even happened.

Of course it's a bit shitty, it's Activision. I dont think war mode is important enough to have cut normal maps so much but it is what it is and probably isn't a deal breaker to most

I can only speculate, from the outside looking in, but to be honest it seems like these were straight up cut from the game.

Also, this is just me thinking aloud, but from that reddit post anyone else think we're getting MW Remastered all over again, where those 'future dlc / cut content' guns just show up as loot in future Supply Drops?

Seems like most negative comments about this game is about the historical accuracy. Is the actual multiplayer gameplay good? I'm just looking for something to play for a week until POE turmoil race. And I really don't give a shit about the price.

Overall I'd say this is a pretty big improvement from IW. The atmosphere is way better then the future crap and it doesn't feel like it is directed at the '420 weed XD quikscope' crowd, even though they are more then likely still the main player base.

The maps aren't perfect but they are so much better then the last few games. There aren't as many close quarters ones and it doesn't feel like the maps are all super obvious 3 lane way maps.

SMG's are still a bit to strong. LMG's are trash sadly. That double barrel shotgun is insanely garbage that it physically hurts. The new no snap aim assist is nice and makes people need to git a bit more gud. The divisions system is nicer and only picking one perk is nice so people need to make decisions between what is most important.

War is definitely the best map and way more interesting then other game modes. Still a bit annoyed you can't use score streaks in that mode but I guess it makes it a bit more fair.
I am disappointed that it has so few maps, there's only like 3 war maps.

Why can't they make an original setting if they want muh diversity so much?

I'm actually having a lot of fun with it. I was so sick of all the watered down future trash. MP seems to be balanced really well and Zombies has a really nice atmosphere and art design and doesn't feel retardedly over the top.

I like the ship map and London docks is alright too and feels like they get better the more you play.

Alright niggers. How's the sniping. I only play cowascooby to quickscope (since that's the only way sniper rifles are useful in these games). Did they make sniper rifles irrelevant again by removing aim assist?

Yes but the grind isnt long so save your token for a late level unlock after 1st prestiege

But to answer your question, I actually haven't seen a single person quickscoping, so I'm guessing it has been pretty majorly nerfed.

However, sniping in War mode is really great and effective, it's just that it's actual SNIPING.

No you can still do it (mtn division gives aim assist) and it's good but not mw2/bo2 good. Most people are using AR types

Activision is likely to add a lootcrate microtransanction system to their single player campaign on the next year's call of duty. Trust me. it will happen. And it is going to happen soon enough. Hell, you could one day, pay to unlock skins if you don't want to grind in the single player campaign. It isn't just going to be cosmetics. Oh no, it might also include cheat codes for singleplayer. And The worse part is, people will be fine with it being implemented in the game.

Of course, I am just pulling this nonsense out of Shadow of War garbage can. There is no way Activision would want to copy that game's microtransanction system.

I'm having this issue as well, and I also can't collect my mail for some reason which is pretty frustrating because I've got some rare shotgun thing waiting to be collected but clicking it does nothing.

It's decent, as good as World at war zombies I'd argue
