no, 10% manaburn reduction is nothing. If you're a core you have better items to fill your slots, if you're a support you won't get anything past force staff / glimmer anyway. And if you need protection, ghost scepter is still superior

I can't play any other role besides support. I hate running to farm creeps. I like fighting enemy heroes. What hero enables me to do that well? I don't mind farming but I don't like that when it's my primary focus. Also, is slardar a support still?

On a witch doctor you should be starting with cro two wards, one sentry (if they have supports and you need to deward mid or rune), clarity.
Arcanes dont scale well but theyre fine because you can disassemble for an aether later which is good on most int supports. But on wd I'd go tranqs. If you need mana regen buy a void stone to build into euls or aether later.
Going brown boots isnt bad either if you wanna rush a glimmer or force staff. But brown boots got nerfd this patch so you might want to pick up a wind lace in that case, which you can later build into drums or euls.
