The reason it was bombed was to destroy the train station but it surived the bombing and was used afterwards. The bombing was a joke and the closest British people got to acting like niggers.

Actually Dresden was a mass of munitions works, an intact government centre, and a key transportation point to the East. It is now none of these things.

Not that many people actually died from the bombings. I'm from Leverkusen and due to all the Bayer chemical plants and industry being here during WW2 our town got bombed quite heavily (though not as bad as Dresden). Even still, barely anyone actually died from these bombings. I asked my grandma about this and there was only one person in her whole neighborhood who died from a bomb. There was an extensive air raid shelter system and while all the buildings got turned to rubble, the people themselves survived due to these shelters.

Also a lot of children in the cities were sent into the countryside to avoid getting bombed, so that's about 20% of the population leaving the cities and being unaffected by the bombs.
