Why was the tip top tricorne replaced by the shitty shako?

Why was the tip top tricorne replaced by the shitty shako?

The shako looks pretty swag.

Blind person detected

You are the only person on earth who thinks the tricorne looks better than the shako.

Stevie pls

The Tricorn is a ridiculous hat. It's basically just a fedora with the brim folded up in three places.

Yea, naw. The shako is by far the best.

Go to an evangelical church, get smacked in the face with a bible by a sweaty preacher, and have thine eyes healed, for surely they are fucked up

British shakos looked like utter shit desu
French shako is where it's at

All Shakos are shit. Tricornes are objectively superior.

sorry but I can't ever take Tricornes seriously

Shakos at least look professional

This is the greatest argument I've seen on this board so far.

Kepi a best though

so in the future people could look at pictures and easily distinguish 18th century and 19th century uniforms in military paintings and drawings

I believe the idea was that the shako would make you look taller

>You are the only person on earth who thinks the tricorne looks better than the shako.

The large ridiculous shakos of Nappy’s Period are wholly impractical headgear; needlessly tall, minuscule brim, hardy bulky construction and provides almost no protection from sun and rain.

A tricorn is a much more practical design.

>Kepi a best though

Military hats general?

In that case, I’d say the Montana crown U.S. campaign hat is the most practical yet classy design.

Tricornes are way cooler but the greatest military headgear was the angloasaxon helmet.

Bicorns BTFO both.

Shakos were actually pretty tough you could shrug off a club blow in one.

Well, if we're including helmets, then you can't beat the U.S. M1C paratroop model.

...

Stahlhelm just looks aesthetically pleasing in grey.

I think you mean grau

danke

The British have perfected the beret.

Polish szyszak provided the best balance of protection, comfort and practicality.

Israelis look pretty good in them too.

LOL! No, he looks almost as retarded wearing that beret as an American.

-audible sound of splatting-

Better picture.

peaked cap > pickelhaube > tricorne > shako > [insert your shitty headgear]

Only the Brits know how to properly wear a beret, they should be the standard.

k then

The smaller Prussian Landwehr hats, don't know how they were called, looked nicer and more practical than the tall bulky shako.
Perhaps they became the stereotypical police hat.

all hats are gay.

Cunt, best hat coming through.

i love the ghurka hat

That's because they don't know how to wear berets properly.

...

HELP, what hat is pic related? Also what are those dragoon like helmets that the Austrians used?

Once again Scotland destroys the entire known world.

Isn't that style of helm orginally Turkish and not Polish?

best military hat ever mate....

Shako offered a little bit of protection against Saber slashes and shrapnel.

Becuase they were cheap and easy to make brining the military cost of head gear down to only two refined

...

There is little distinction. Poles called their own clothing "the Turkish style" while Turks called the same clothing "the Polish style".

>not having all styles at once

Underrated

Mitznefet or go home.

As someone who wears a shako for marching band reasons, they're pretty comfy and the brim is pretty damn good at keeping the sun out of your eyes, despite how small it is.
Plus, in terms of appearance, I feel like it gives the appearance of greater height, at least in a formation.

Because British uniforms likes to get more and more impractical and happy pappy or whatever Britbongs say.

Tricornes are among the God-Tier of non-contemporary headgear.

Excuse me, real Napoleonic headgear coming through.

>being a KUK
