unstable magic is only good for pure single target aka never in m+. living bomb for general use, flame patch if you're coordinated with your tank and on high keys

first tier is a tossup but conflagration is always going to be better until high keys, there just comes a point where mobs are higher than 90% for long enough to justify pyro

Coming back to the game after being away for quite a few months. Best toon is a 900 ilvl tauren warrior. I have many other toons as well, some of which are too, capped.

Any suggestions on what I could/should do to pass the time 'til next expac launch? Or should I just wait entirely until then to come back? Especially if I want to level something?

Just cap out the classes you're interested in. I'd recommend checking out people's opinions of the class's order hall campaign. For instance, the death knight campaign is really good shit. Some are more lackluster. Other than that, maybe check out mounts or cosmetics you'd like to earn before the expac is over?

It's no good in mythic raiding or high rated pvp. So just use different specs for those.
