Every single Kingdom Hearts game, besides the phone game, is now available on PS4! Catching up has never been this easy. KINGDOM HEARTS I.5+II.5 ReMIX -- Released March 28, 2017 KINDGOM HEARTS II.8 Final Chapter Prologue -- Released January 12, 2017 KH 1.5 and KH 2.5 also available separately on PS3
Here's something I rarely see discussed here: What song from Utada Hikaru would you want to be the theme of KH3? Assuming she doesn't write a new one for the game
Both Hikari and Passion were new singles at the time, so either Utada will release a new song for KHIII or they'll take something from Phantôme
Ethan Rodriguez
>Riku just hands Kairi Destiny's Embrace Now that I think it, that was actually just Aqua's Keyblade he gave her and what she's still in possession of. But at what point did Riku even find the Chamber of Repose? Unless Ansem/DiZ took it from there at some point and gave it to him.
Aiden Garcia
I always thought Riku had borrowed Mickey's other Keyblade.
Easton Young
She may be in possession of the key chain, but it's obvious that multiples of a single keychain can exist. It's guaranteed that someone has given her the inheritance ceremony by now, whether she was able to wield one because of aqua's spell, her stay in Sora's body, or whatever, Mickey is a master, Yen Sid is a master, and Riku is a master, so she's obviously been given permission to wield one officially.
Jeremiah Carter
Star Seeker? Yen Sid gave that to Sora when he got new clothes
Jace Ortiz
I see aqua and stitch hit like a truck I only did 1 week vip for her though Should I throw 3 brooms on mine?
Evan Peterson
You got it entirely ass backwards. Aqua recieved the keychain for Destiny's Embrace from her meeting with Kairi that turned her keyblade into Destiny's embrace when equipped. Kairi's Destiny's Embrace is her own, and Aqua's is still in the chamber of repose.
Levi Garcia
Is final form xion worth brooming now that i have kairi ex? Or should I just wait for whatever the next easy to get, high multiplier upright medal is?
Lucas Ross
That's because we don't actually know if he's done anything yet.
Carter Stewart
Its going to be more Hikari and you know it
Angel Wright
I thought it was confirmed she was making a new song. They already maxed out Hikari in DDD's opening.
Kayden Brown
Alright KHFag, having beaten Sora's whole playthrough I think the only complaints I'd amend are the following: Encounters only start having too many waves with too many enemies around Twilight Town onward and in Traverse Town as well. Castle Oblivion is especially the worst, when I saw that 6+ Neoshadow wave on the third wave of one of the common fights when there were already multiple enemies still around I wanted to scream since they break nearly every card you have unless it's a 9. The arenas for said battles likewise only get too big starting with Twilight Town onward.
Outside of that I stick by everything else. There are still a ridiculous amount of encounters per map for their size, 2* usually have 5-7 and 3* have like 10 and they all usually have two to three waves per encounter and there are more if you choose Looming Darkness or Teeming Darkness (But with Teeming it makes sense even if I still think there are too much). Moogle Points seem like they're not bad at the start because the Moogle Rooms only have 100 point packs, but once you get to Atlantica and then Twilight Town you just can't keep up with their cost. It takes like around two or three hours just to get 5,000 Moogle Points if you are farming Agrabah with Aladdin which is a whole 10 packs or 50 cards, and there's no reason to buy the 300 packs because you don't get any good cards from those, it's nearly always trash. Rooms are still too big in general, especially when compared to GBA.
It's not as bad as I remembered it being, but it still isn't as fun as GBA. Castle Oblivion as Sora was especially terrible due to the Neoshadows and nearly my entire deck was 7-9 cards, I got so much broken it was infuriating. We can both agree Riku is fine though, his worlds are short enough and you don't have to worry about much since it's all balanced around a preset deck, plus his duel and Dark Riku features make fights less of a hassle.
Luis Jackson
Didn't know that about the new single, I'm honestly glad to hear it since as much as I love Hikari I want a new song of hers since I fucking love her songsit was also what made me aware of KH in the first place
Jason Lewis
That's just a keychain. The Keyblade is Ven's. Mickey still has it in Re:coded.
Xavier Parker
You heard Hikari before playing the first game? where cause I had a feeling that I also heard the song first. back when I was like 10 and still playing the game for the first time.
Michael Edwards
Kairi got the ability by accident when she touched Aqua's keyblade in BbS.
What? Mickey doesn't have Ven's keyblade. Where did you even get that from?
Jeremiah Gonzalez
The second Keyblade Sora uses is Ven's.
Mickey never gave Yen Sid's Keyblade back to him, so he still has it in Re:coded.
Jaxson Stewart
Destiny's Embrace is Kairi's Keyblade
Thing is Keychains are formed of one Keyblade wielder's bond and memories of another person, Riku and Aqua both had the same keychain because it REPRESENTS Kairi
If Sora hadnt gotten the good luck charm from Kairi, his keyblade representing his memories of her would have been Destiny's Embrace
At least thats my understanding of how this works
isnt it implied that Star Seeker was passed down from Yen Sid to Mickey like Master's Defender? Basically like a sign that you trained under him? They havent really explained keychains vs physical keyblades, like is Sora using a keychain or the physical one? And When Mickey uses it again is that because he owns the original or a keychain of it?
Now my headcanon is that a Keyblade wielder can "lend" a keyblade to someone they have a strong bond with, Sora and Riku sharing eachother's keyblades, Riku grabbing one of Roxas's blades when they fought Roxas can use Sora's keyblade at the same time Sora is using one.
Levi Myers
Can I just say I hate the inheritance thing and prefer people generating keyblades from strength of heart. I wish the second keyblade was Xion's.
wait how the fuck did data sora summon a keyblade?
Ryder Powell
I was a fan of her before KH so I had her albums and singles and then I heard she did a song that was used in a game so I went to play it and see how it was
Mason Torres
it wasnt a real keyblade, because the bugs in the journal were based on heartless the weapon based on the keyblade could defeat them
Hudson Cook
Where is it ever said in the games that Mickey had Ven's keyblade?
Isaiah James
Xion never had a Keyblade. She was using Sora's and/or Ven's just like Roxas.
Data-Sora grew a heart.
Jayden Howard
but the fake one broke are you telling me he made a stronger fake?
Alexander Jackson
If he really just grew a heart he still needed someone to do the inheritance ritual.
Chase Peterson
>Data-Sora grew a heart. I hope recoded is never brought up again. We don't need clones of everyone running around
Oliver Hill
If Braig wanted a Keyblade so bad why didn't he just go to the Graveyard and take one? Not like it would have anyone to *teleports away from u* back to anyway.
Jason Myers
The warriors of light are going to have a mega-surplus user Sora, Riku, Kairi, Ventus, Aqua, Terra, Mickey Xion, Roxas, Lea Data Sora, probably Namine, Repliku for all we know, technically Yen Sid, Data Riku, who knows what side Vanitas and Marluxia could end up on.
The Keyblade is a strength drawn from the heart. It's not impossible that, in a data world, a data entity could manifest his "heart" as a digital object like a Keyblade.
Samuel Sanchez
So you are saying that the explanation from before bbs only applies to data. well I guess bbs didn't completely fuck up keyblades then.
Carson Johnson
>42 minutes for a 5 minute trailer No.
A trailer analysis has no business being any longer than twice the length of the trailer.
Lemme guess. He repeats himself, is unscripted, and pours over minutia that doesn't deserve that much attention.
Dylan Hughes
Who?
Jace Thompson
Rewatching the cutscenes, Im 95% sure he didnt really grow a heart but the fact that Sora's heart is connected through everyone I think he just borrowed the real Sora's keyblade because everyone just believes hes real enough too
Jose Peterson
BbS doesn't invalidate what Keyblades are at their core.
Back Cover also confirmed that Keyblades are drawn out from the heart, that's what the Master did. Inheritence is sort of like giving you the ability to draw your Keyblade, not just handing you the Keyblade itself.
That's why Riku's doesn't even show up until KH1
Camden Howard
Nomura even said a big idea in the game was "can a heart be grown in data?" And Mickey more or less confirms it can when he tells Data-Sora that he achieved a power like nobody else.
Owen Evans
>The warriors of light are going to have a mega-surplus user I thought we could only have seven warriors of Light?
Lucas Clark
>Data Sora can newly obtain a legitimate Keyblade during his adventure, but are there changes to the real Keyblade when that happens?
>Nomura: No, it’s a data version the entire time. However like with the first Keyblade, it wasn’t created by someone else. It comes from the heart’s connections with the data, hinting towards the story theme, “Can a heart be born in an existence made of data?” It's data the whole time, he never gets the actual keyblade from outside, though just because it's data doesn't mean there aren't feelings or a heart in it
Jayden Brown
cut Terra and replace him with Lea and you still have at least one extra keyblade wielder, without counting roxas and xion who are obviously going to be made real, or any of the extras who are probably going to be forgotten. Why exactly would the warriors of light go with Xehanort's plan? There's still 6 princess's of heart too. Even if only 7 fight, or are supposed to fight, there are more than 7 lights.
Gabriel Morris
Those ones looked pretty rusty and lifeless. Plus he probably wants a cool Keygunblade.
Isaiah Bennett
fuck off shill
Leo Miller
>Why exactly would the warriors of light go with Xehanort's plan? Same reason Sora kept fight heartless even after knowing Org 13's plan.
Thomas Harris
Sora fought heartless in because heratless were hurting innocent people. The warriors of light have an easier way to disobey Xehanort if they send more than 7 people to fight him. The two situations are not analogous to each other.
Adrian Smith
>Ventus and Roxas fighting side by side I want this
Juan Cook
It's bound to happen user did you not see DDD.
Christian Collins
>tfw there'd be tons of mirror porn following the reveal I'm ready for it

>yfw Data-Sora is how Sora DOOLWEELDS in KH3 because you can't just take away dual-wielding
Luke James
you're not welcome here so fuck off
Luke Brooks
You can when the main gimmick is Keyblade transformations
Thomas Brown
Marluxia as a VIP medal actually isn't that bad. Granted, he's not worth $90, but if you need a 1-gauge medal in Proud Mode, he's a fucking godsend.
I'm honestly more excited for the Herc/Jack/Genie medals than I am for the Foretellers. The multipliers on them are fucking ridiculous.
Aaron Rivera
Duelwielding transforming keyblades >mfw
Angel Evans
>single target meh
Leo Cruz
He's basically a bonus since there's going to be a ViP Medal that will come out within that time frame and during Black Friday Deals. Not worth buying 7 weeks of ViP, but one or two during sales is fine. I'm glad I have something more for when Diamond Dust comes out.
Bentley Thompson
>Keygunblade Delete your post before you give Nomura ideas
Justin Baker
too late kinda
Brayden Jackson
TOO LATE
Robert Foster
Marly for buffs and then KA4 for the actual damage.
>Implying he hasn't had that idea since he first used Leon >Implying Wisdom Form and the transformation aren't already there The Keyblade is tame compared to the chainsaw
Hudson Morgan
That's so siilly. And look at those frame drops. They're doing too much if you ask me.
Blake Scott
Does Global get new avatar boards tomorrow and new story on Friday?
Austin Bailey
They just posted this. Fucking finally, been waiting for this one forever. Also new quests too
Leo Harris
I'm still waiting for the Cruella board, though at this point I'm betting they'll just save it until the puppy medals get released
Lincoln Johnson
>We're celebrating with a 0 AP Campaign! Am I the only one that actively plays the game LESS when there's a 0 AP campaign? I play a lot of mobages, so cycling through Stamina bars is how I keep the balance and make sure to maintain everything. Half AP is fun but 0 AP just means I'm going to play the game less for fear of playing it too much.
Bentley Bell
>Global gets fucked again wew no ex mickey and mickey quests for you
Adrian Murphy
It was highly appreciated back when story missions started reaching like 30AP a pop, and I still needed lots of evolve and exp medals, but nowadays I'm already so set that I still play the same no matter what, except during Lux contests wherein it becomes very troublesome juggling it, and other mobage game I play, especially when they both have events
Ethan Hall
It makes it feel like you don't want to burn out but at the same time when you need to grind out evolve medals or story missions it's good. Keep in mind not everyone is an existing player and they don't easily get the evolve medals. Hell, I only have like 10 of each 5* evolve medal because I can't stand to grind those stages where they require 100% of my attention for a whole 2 medals at best in like two or three minutes.
Elijah White
Did he learn that after Lingering Will kicked his teeth in?
Jaxson Moore
Xigbar is going to have an aneurysm
Grayson Richardson
Throw in Xion as well
Nathaniel Ward
why'd you use old footage? The newest stuff works WAY better than the old one does.
Robert Bailey
Like I said last time, I need to give GBA another go, but I did hop into my old file for a couple seconds.
Could be me being rusty, but I think it's easy to say that Re:CoM has better controls. Isometric platforming is... not so good. Having to double-tap a direction to dodge is... not so good. Also, Defenders turn around in 1 frame. I don't like that one.
Overall, for the time being I'll maintain that Sora's Story is not better or worse between versions. Just different. I don't think, say, a new player would be missing out on much if they chose Re:CoM over GBA, or vice versa.
Noah Stewart
Advantages of GBA: >Collection points refresh when you leave the room, meaning you don't have to make a new room from scratch just to get more MP. >Omnislash isn't garbage. >Magic-based sleights are actually playable, particularly Blizzaga since it's over 1/3rd of the screen and pierces guards. >Sora can actually get every enemy as a card. >Enemy cards actually drop.
Advantages of Re:CoM: >Battlefields aren't as cramped. >Dodging is on a button and not a double-tap that you rarely use. >Evading attacks in general is generally easier. >The mechanical buffs to Riku's story are welcome. >Defenders don't do 360 No Sells at the drop of a hat. >Platforming and navigating the map isn't frustrating. >Random Jokers and Roulette Rooms help. >Cool ass bonus Marluxia fight.
Problems with both: >Neoshadows >Summons that aren't Cloud suck outside of specific situations >Gravity and Stop are dogshit outside of specific situations. >Sonic Blade cracks the game in half regardless of what version you play. >Items are shit if they don't contain the word "Elixr" >Game suffers from poor enemy balance: shit either feels overwhelming or barely a speedbump regardless of the version. Goes triple for bosses. >Dozens of cool ass sleights that you will never use because they're horrifyingly impractical or come so late in the game that you've already beaten everything worth using them on.
Evan Nguyen
Guys I just want to say the lore for this game is kind of retarded.
Do you think we'll ever get a game or spinoff that feels simple and clean like KH1 again?
Wyatt Brooks
Boy it sure would be nice to get some content to go along with these new medals and avatars.
Brandon Long
The new trailers are missing the 3rd person shootan, probably got scrapped.
Brandon Richardson
>Cool ass bonus Marluxia fight. Also Zexion, and the bonus cards from KHIIFM/Days completion
Luis Brooks
Wait doesn't that mean he's telling us videogame characters can have hearts in real life too? ( Metaphorically) That's kind of heartwarming.
Parker Fisher
No they're not. There's a shot of Sora shooting enemies outside the Twilight Mansion.
Ryder Stewart
In retrospect, The Talos Principal, Soma and Nier Automata have incredibly similar themes, asking just what the line between human and sufficiently sapient AI is.
Logan Rodriguez
Those guns don't have triggers what the fuck
Grayson Fisher
I mean it's an extremely classic scifi and philosophical theme. That's why as convulted as the plot to KH can get it still works.
Nathaniel Barnes
I mean, it was more interesting when done by other games, but as long as it barely gets brought up again it's not going to be too big of a deal.
Is Lethal Frame a pro or a con? I mean, you have to build your deck specifically for it, but it can be about as broken as sonic blade if not more so. youtu.be/fAMtMixTKrU?t=2m45s
Isaac Howard
I mean the aim down sights reticle.
Hudson Edwards
It's a giant key that's a sword that transforms.
Mason Gray
I would consider Lethal Frame an oversight. In a game where there are tons of radicool and devastating sleights, Lethal Frame seems like a prank a developer pulled on the staff where they took an endgame sleight and slipped it into a level that was much sooner than projected endgame levels.
If Lethal Frame was unlocked at like Lv 65~75 instead of in, what, the 30s~40s(?), it'd be perfectly balanced.
Ethan Walker
Well guess luck, you're in luck
>Also arriving midnight (PT): new Story Quests and the Flower Snuggly Challenge Event begins! #KHUX
Aladdin and the old man arrive at the Cave of Wonders. The Guardian awakens and permits Aladdin entrance. Player catches up and warns Aladdin not to go in. Aladdin suggests Player come with him, and together they enter the Cave.
Inside the treasure room, Aladdin and Player run into the Magic Carpet. Aladdin asks if it can help us find the lamp, and the Carpet immediately leads the way
The Carpet guides them into the depths of the Cave, where Player and Aladdin are ambushed by the BOSS. After the battle, the gang enters the lamp chamber. Aladdin goes to retrieve the Lamp, meanwhile Abu eyes a nearby jeweled statue. Abu grabs the jewel, angering the Cave and triggering a flow of lava. Hopping aboard Carpet, Player and Aladdin make haste to the exit, only for a boulder to strike, sending Player and Carpet falling and leaving Aladdin hanging from the crumbling entrance. The old man approaches Aladdin, and takes the Lamp from him. Then he brandishes a dagger, but Abu leaps out and bites his arm. In retaliation, the old man throws them both into the Cave, which promptly closes up. Outside, the old man relishes in his victory, only to discover that the Lamp is no longer with him.
End.

Whoa! You mean to tell me the old man betrayed Aladdin and now he's trapped inside the cave? I did not see this story event unfolding.
Bentley Ward
>Defenders don't do 360 No Sells at the drop of a hat. They do, I've had them spin around with their lunges several times now.
>Evading attacks in general is generally easier. Melee attacks only somewhat and you have garbage like the pirates in Neverland you cannot get out of at all if you get caught in them for multiple hits. Ranged attacks can only be dodged if you dodge almost as soon as you're going to get hit as you have almost no iframes and they home in on you. You can see this most noticeably with Vexen's ice spikes that spin around you if you dodge them until you break his card or move and you have things like Wizards that have nonstop thunder for days that home in on you. In GBA you also had really long dodges with incredibly generous iframes.
Another bonus for GBA should also be that you can stack enemies. You're lucky if you can get two enemies in a non-magic attack but in GBA you can literally bundle up things by just moving into them and attacking which means stopping them from using cards and shortening how many you need to use. It also has less enemies per battle due to GBA limitations so battles aren't that long, and because of this you also get more EXP per battle since they have so many more enemies in Re:CoM which makes it an absolute pain to both collect due to the arenas while having to focus on more enemies.
Lexaeus is the only one to write home about so he's the only real card worth mentioning, but it is a benefit. The bonus Keyblades almost never drop and the other enemy boss cards aren't really useful at all. Not saying it's not worth putting as a benefit, it's just that only one of them out of the whole lot is really worth it.
Dylan Reyes
Whats the best way to play KH?Original hardware? PS3 Remix? PS4 Remix? I played some of 2.8 at some friends house and I really liked it. I heard there were some bugs in the PS4 version of the remixes because the games weren't meant to be in 60fps. was that fixed or something?
Jaxon Parker
PS4 versions are the best ones now since they've had glitches patched. I still had a random crash in 1's arena but other than that it's been smooth sailing so far. You just have to get used to 30fps cutscenes and then a jump to 60fps once fights starts which is a bit annoying.
Gabriel Sullivan
There have been several patches to 1.5+2.5, making it easily the definitive version of all games included.
