I honestly don't know how to get kills with magic. I read here all the time about Wind of Death and Flaming Skull destroying armies, but even maxed out and overcast they barely make a dent for me.

It does but you can't play as them in the campaign by default, though with a simple mod from the workshop you can unlock them in custom and on the campaign. Note however that they don't really work as they are "supposed" to, they lack some units, quests and other things. >Is it worth getting the game? There were no permanent allies in Sengoku Japan you retard, everyone was trying to go for a last man standing scenario. It literally makes perfect sense for a coalition to spring up against you if you get powerful enough for people to start thinking you'll steamroller the rest of Japan. It happened historically in Japan, the Three Kingdoms period, and in the Spring and Autumn period.

In Attila or Empire there's nothing to *do* at the end of the game, you're just mopping the fuck up, in Shogun you get one last fucking hurrah and it's great.

It's still Total War AI on the battlefield, and the game throwing more stacks at you doesn't make it challenging, it just makes it last longer. I didn't say they should never betray you, but changing it to "They will ALWAYS betray me" is not an improvement and does not make the game harder.

God knows I never finished the campaign in Attila or Rome II, I think I did it once in Med II and Empire and that's it. Shogun II's endgame was sufficiently fun for me that I actually felt like finishing it. Multiple times.
I'm not, I just disagree strongly with the idea that Realm Divide, at least in its current state, was a good way of handling the old "nobody finishes campaigns" problem. Now, it was never so bad I never beat the game, I have beaten the game several times too. RD is flawed imo but Shogun 2 is still overall the best TW.

Realm Divide in Shogun II was great. It should have been easier to keep an ally, like how Tokugawa stuck with the Oda during the latter's IRL realm divide, but it was still a great addition. Really adds the tension to late game.

Nah. It's the best way. At the end of the game you're likely the only blob. Having the various AIs ally themselves against you is logical. Your mentioning the battles being easy is irrelevant to the discussion of a campaign map mechanic. Even if we made it so battles were actually hard, if you could just blob and the endgame was you finishing off various one to ten provinces factions, it would be still too easy due to you able to bring overwhelming force each time.
This is pure fantasy DLC. Same as upcoming Empire Divided.
