Post-war Germans living in Eastern Europe were targeted for retribution

>Post-war Germans living in Eastern Europe were targeted for retribution
>Boats containing German refugees were attacked by allied submarines
>Mass rapes
>Mass deportations of ethnic Germans occurred
>Property and possessions of known Germans were seized and given away
>Germans were shipped off to concentration camps in cattle cars
>Disease and starvation rampant in the camps
>Young and elderly died from exhaustion
>Some were shipped off to the USSR as slave labour
>Partisans were allowed to murder and attack ethnic Germans with little fear of reprisal
>600 thousand - 2 million died
>Ethnic Germans still living in Eastern Europe are discouraged from practicing their language
>Not considered a genocide

Because nobody cares about a bunch of dead Krauts after they spent the past 6 years pillaging the continent

They got to keep the krauts down otherwise their natural efficiency predisposes them to dominate the world. You can't give them anything to feel sorry about otherwise they'll tueton all over everything.

aaaand here come the tankies

>Current year
>71 years after WWII
>Nearly everyone who was alive during the war is dead
>Still not recognized as a genocide

Why?

Glad my family snuck over to argentina after the war.

Because not everything is a genocide, that word gets thrown around far too often

Talk shit, get hit faggots AHAHAHAHA

>>>/reddit/

This. No govt sat down and said "Let's kill all the squareheads on earth. We are now taking nominations for the head of the no more little Bosch children comittie"

Germany lost a war. An managed to piss off the entire world before they lost. Those are the stakes of empire.

Germany got off pretty lightly. They could have called made Berlin into New Jerusalem for the lulz.

>dead Germans
>bad

You can't genocide white people

Sad thing is that most of them are probably of German descent.

They certainly have the trademark German autism

>No govt sat down and said "Let's kill all the squareheads on earth. We are now taking nominations for the head of the no more little Bosch children comittie
Yes they did
>Germany got off pretty lightly
Be honest, you're Jewish aren't you?

>Americans are responsible for Germans committing suicide by autism
>implying this is the first attempt

>WE ARE LE MASTER RACE

>ON THE GROUND SLAV SUBHUMANS RESPECT MAH HAPLOTYPE

>MUH LEBENSRAUM, MUH COLONIZATION OF THE EAST

>get btfo

>WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING ME?, HELP! HELP! IM BEING OPPRESSED!

Germans are just too autistic for their own good.

t. German diaspora

Yep. Anyone who makes you look dumb, is actually a Jew. Teacher, scientists, historiabs, books, all Jews.

Do you even know what the word "genocide" means? It doesn't mean killing or mistreating people. It means the systematic killing of an identifiable demographic group with the intent of exterminating that group. No one was trying to kill all Germans (if they wanted to, in 1945 they certainly could have). What killings that happened were disorganized and unsystematic, not part of government policy.

>Earnest Albert Hooton (November 20, 1887 – May 3, 1954) was a U.S. physical anthropologist known for his work on racial classification and his popular writings such as the book Up From The Ape.
Some literally who? anthropologist is not a government, user

>Concentration camps and slave labour are disorganized and not part of government policy

>It means the systematic killing of an identifiable demographic group with the intent of exterminating that group

They were certainly trying to exterminate the Eastern European Germans.

The Czechs in particular emphasized the need for a homogenous state

im about as german as a toyota

>Concentration camps and slave labour are disorganized and not part of government policy
Not killing, so not genocide

>They were certainly trying to exterminate the Eastern European Germans
No they weren't, they were trying to deport them. Some may have died along the way, but they didn't try to kill them all. If they wanted to, they could have, but they didn't.

t. John Schubert of North Dakota

>No they weren't, they were trying to deport them....

... Into concentration camps.

TOP KEK GET REKT

GERKEKS BTFO!

HOW WILL THEY EVER RECOVER?

DO IT AGAIN BOMBER HARRIS

VERSAILLES WASN'T ENOUGH

GO PREP THE BULL HANS!

t. tankie living in Dresden

>Into concentration camps
Into Germany, and concentration camps are not extermination camps.

>Into Germany

Then people who escaped the camps would not be sent back to the camps.

If the camps lacked adequate food as they did, then the Eastern Europeans were trying to exterminate them. I could see them using the "oh, we didn't mean to kill them" defense if they actually gave the Germans food and sanitary living spaces. They wouldn't subject young children and the elderly to forced marches either if they had any other goal in mind

What nonsense. The Germans were totally defenseless and everyone hated them, if they had really wanted to kill them they could have easily. The fact that only 500-600,000 died out of 11-13 million deported proves you're full of shit.

what is a tankie?

The Eastern Europeans had just come through the most devastating war in human history, their entire society was devastated, they could barely even feed themselves. Them not being able to provide good conditions for the people who had been fucking them over for 6 years doesn't prove anything

>They wouldn't subject young children and the elderly to forced marches either if they had any other goal in mind
This is actually the funny part.

This is about Wrocław:
>On August 24th the city was declared a closed stronghold - ‘Festung Breslau’ - and the citizens braced themselves for the inevitable bloodbath that was to come. Silesian Gauleiter Karl Hanke was appointed commander, and set about the daunting task of turning a picture-book city into a fortress.
>Hanke stubbornly refused to order an evacuation of civilians until January 19, 1945. By this time the majority of transport links had been smashed by Soviet shelling, forcing many evacuees to leave the city on foot. With temperatures sinking to -15˚C, an estimated 100,000 people froze to death during this ill-fated evacuation, with other reports of children trampled to death in the chaos that ensued at the train station. Breslau was in a state of full-blown panic. Defeatism was punished by death and on January 28th the deputy mayor, Dr. Wolfgang Spielhagen, was executed in the main square for this very reason. Execution squads roamed the city, murdering pessimists, looters and anyone found shirking their duty to the Fatherland.
It seems like their Nazi government didn't care that much about them in the first place.

>inb4 it was the soviet's fault for attacking the german, who dindu nuffin

Try harder, Tankie.

Poor conditions, no food, cattle cars, slave labour and forced marches make it clear the East Europeans were trying to pull off a genocide

>Then people who escaped the camps would not be sent back to the camps.

Anna Tiesler: With the help of a Macedonian worker at the old brick factory-who in the meantime had become the "big boss'' we were able to escape from Gakovo. My sister could hardly walk for the blood ran down her sore legs, but we had to go on. We hid at
the brick factory and received help from our Hungarian friends, who left food in certain places for us. In the spring of 1946 we were found out and taken back to Gakovo.
One more winter under those conditions would have meant our death. Thus, in the fall of 1946 we again planned our escape, this time to Hungary. At the border some unlucky person was captured, and while he was taken away, We managed to cross over. Language was no problem, since my mother and I both spoke Hungarian. For two weeks we walked through Hungary, begging for food and sleeping in barns. Finally, we crossed the border into Austria, where we lived in a refugee camp at Eisenerz until 1954,
when our whole family immigrated to America.

Elisabeth Walter: By the foil of 1947 we had been in three or four different camps. In September of that year we came to Gakova, a camp not for from the Hungarian border. One night my mother, brother, myself, my aunt, two cousins and some other women sneaked out of the camp. All had pooled their scarce possessions and paid a guide.Suddenly someone called out: "He's gone. We're lost!" Our guide had deserted us. One of the women claimed she could orient herself by the stars, and so we followed her all night and in the morning we found ourselves back where we had started: Gakova. The guards found us and we were locked up in a windowless room with 50 or so other prisoners, in total darkness with no room to sit or lie down to sleep or rest

> the camps lacked adequate food as they did

London Daily Mail, June 1945: They [the Germans] have only the food which the guards give them from time to time. They have received no rations. A typhus epidemic now rages among them, and they are said
to be dying at the rate of 100 a day. 25,000 men, women and children made this forced march from Brno

Albin Vorndran: In August 1945, the first Germans were driven out of their homeland like dogs. Individual family members were chosen at will and driven off to the railway station, where cattle cars stood ready. The cars had no rooft, and they were literally stuffed full of people. Old people as well as small children were forced into these cars, getting nothing to eat or drink. In these first days of expulsion the temperature averaged 30 degrees Centigrade [86 degrees Fahrenheit}. We were standing some 10 to 15 meters from these cattle cars but were not allowed to even once bring water or food to our relatives and friends. Even a priest, whose parents were part of the transport, was denied permission to bring something to his folks. He cried bitterly because he couldn't give his suffering parents so much as a drink of water.

Eva Edl: In March 1945 we were evicted from our homes and forced to march to Filipovo. I heard shots, cries, reports of peopLe being killed and women giving birth on the roadside.
My grandmother and I, who couLd not work, were locked into cattle cars for approximately two days without food, water or toilet facilities and transported to the internment camp at Gakovo. Our diet there consisted of one ladLefoL of soup in the morning and again at night. The soup was nothing but warm, saLtLess water containing a few peas; the only soLid food we received was a small piece of dried cornmeaL mush distributed once or twice a week. Soon there were outbreaks of diarrhea, dysentery and other diseases. However, no medical treatment whatever was availabLe, and people started dying all around me. The dead were thrown into the mass graves, which were then covered over, Leaving no trace of the identity of the victims.

Eisenhower: In Silesia, Polish administration and methods are causing a mass exodus westward of German inhabitants. Germans are being or- dered out of their homes and to evacuate New Poland. Many unable
to move are placed in camps on meager rations and under poor sanitary conditions. Death and disease rate in camps extremely high . Methods used by Poles defillitely do not conform to Potsdam agreement

Josef Weber:1952, I got the news that the Romanian authorities had evacuated the German inhabitants of my hometown near the Romanian- Yugo- slavian border, along with 50,000 other Germans. They were set out on the Danubian Steppes at the beginning of winter, under the open sky, no roofs over their heads! My elderly parents died there within two weeks. Thus, none of my family were left in my former homeland, for even my three-year-old son was dead of an undetermined illness one month after my wife had been deported in February 1945; an older brother was killed at the front near Stalingrad in 1942; and my sister died in 1949 as a deportee in the Soviet Union

No one is claiming that though

Why is it when discussing allied crimes people immediately assume we're trying to exonerate the axis for their own actions?

Poor, poor Germans.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expulsion_of_Poles_by_Nazi_Germany

>Germanization began with the classification of which people were "racially suitable", as defined by the Nazi Volksliste.[6] About 1.7 million Poles were deemed Germanizable, including between one and two hundred thousand Polish children who were taken away from their parents.[7] For the remainder expulsion was carried out, often in cattle cars in freezing weather, causing the deaths of many, especially children.[8] They were carried out on short notice, often at night, and the people were allowed only a few belongings.[8] Ethnic Germans being resettled there were often given Polish homes with half-eaten meals on tables, and unmade beds, where small children had been sleeping at the time of their evictions.[9] Members of the Hitler Youth and the League of German Girls were assigned the task of overseeing the evictions to ensure that the Poles left behind most of their belongings for the use of the settlers.[10] This could also mean the separation of entire families, with able-bodied adults being sent to work in Germany while the rest were sent to the General Government.[8]

Speaking of Polish camps...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zgoda_labour_camp

Yes, it was bad, but not Nazi bad.

And fun fact:
>In 1994, soon after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Morel was indicted by Poland's Institute of National Remembrance for war crimes and crimes against humanity, including the "revenge killings" of 1,500 ethnic prisoners from Upper Silesia (most of them Polish Silesians and German civilians).[2] After his case was publicized by the Polish, German, British, and American media, Morel fled to Israel and was granted citizenship under the Law of Return. Poland twice requested his extradition, but Israel refused to comply and rejected the more serious charges as being false, potentially part of an antisemitic conspiracy, and again rejected extradition on the grounds that the statute of limitations against Morel had run out, and that Morel was in poor health.
le /pol/ is always right meme

>Yes, it was bad, but not Nazi bad.

I never implied that

seems to be a trend among you people

Because 90% of the time you people talk as if all this came from thin air one morning and not as a direct result of racial policies and the atrocities committed and supported by germans, as well as exaggerate the facts to try and play the "just as bad" card when clearly one side is worse than the other; is it wrong that germans got kicked out of some countries? maybe, is it wrong that they got interned into camps? yes, is this in any shape or form comparable to what the germans exerted on the multitude of peoples they oppressed? fuck no, not quantitative or qualitatively comparable

and in the end, it may sound harsh or cold, but this might be one of those rare cases were "brought it on themselves" is actually true

It would be a disservice to any surviving veterans, their kin and countrymen to portray allied actions negatively. War is essentially state sponsored mass-murder and not dissimilar to genocide. However, genocide carries connotations which would portray the European campaign negatively so it's avoided. After 70 years Japan still refuses to acknowledge Nanking and after almost 100 years Turkey still denies Armenian genocide. It might provide closure for victims, but apart from that it's largely political.

Because murdering Germans is one of those guilty pleasures. Even though you know it's wrong, it just feels so right. Syrians know this too.

Stalinists and people who are sympathetic to communist/socialist regimes

>Kill 50 million
>Waaa the Holocaust never happened

>Lose 2 million
>everyone owes us infinite indemnity

...

tankie (noun, English tank + -ie diminutive appelative suffix): a communist who supports the policies of the Soviet Union, especially as they apply to foreign affairs
so named because the USSR sent tanks into Hungary after it had a counter-revolution to make it safe for communism again

That reminded me of this little gem:
"When ze fuhrer says,
'Ve is ze master race',
We heil *plft*, heil *plft*,
Right in the ze fuhrer's face"

...

I'm still not seeing any proof of genocide here. Try again.

Who can fucking blame them? Having a german minority lead their country to be fucking invaded and shat on by hitler, they didn't want it to happen again. inb4 le not all germans maymay.

What genocide ever has been systematic and planned? Even modern historians accept that the Holocaust was more grassroot and step by step than top down.

>They were certainly trying to exterminate the Eastern European Germans.
Deportation=/=extermination.

Why?
>Hardly comparable with other shit that happened during the war
>In many cases justified (If a Germ supported Hitler's aggressive policies it is hard to pity it)

>It wasn't the worst thing to ever happen so we should just ignore it

Why are tankies so intellectually lazy?

An eye for an eye

Considering German actions in both World Wars, which they instigated, and the colonization of Eastern/Central Europe by them in the Medieval period, I would consider all of that a fair trade-off

They did more genocide so the net genocide came from them.
