Well, besides the fact that she's best girl in DR1 AND DR3, Aoi is just a smart, optimistic character in a game full of jaded cynics. She pulled her weight in trials and most of her mistakes only happened because she was obviously emotional. She's definitely not as useful as, say, Kyoko or Byakuya, but the fact that Aoi believes in other people and realistically reacted to the killing game makes her infinitely more likeable to me.
