u still mad from last thread?

Classic

except clear sky is so bad it has only one fan: (you)

...

Are there any guides in Call of Chernobyl 1.5? I talk to people with the guide icon on the map but they won't offer to lead me anywhere.

did we ever find out if he died?

I got lucky and ran into some veterans fucking up a pseudogiant. He killed 2 of them and I got pretty decent gear from that. Went back to clear sawmill, get some ammo then just started fucking shit up. Fun times.

So I installed OGSE 0692, made sure that I'm using patch 1.0005, ran the configurator.
Accepted the artifact quest from Sid, went outside, and got shot to death.
The whole Rookie village is hostile. Help. Google didn't help me either.

Boi can you even read, you have to do the stuff for Sid before the rookies will trust you.

And remember to run the configurator as admin or it won't save shit.

Trusting me and not shooting me on sight are a bit different things.

They shouldn't shoot you unless you try running into the camp like a doofus.

Well, they shoot me if I just walk into the camp too.

Do not insert your body into the camp in any way shape or form.

Okay, okay.
Are map markers disabled in this mod, or do I have a bugged install? The quests don't show where to go. I'm fine with it, just want to know if it should be like this.

Holy fucking shit just listen to sid for 1 second and do the fucking tutorial you retarded piece of shit

Still can't get addons for CoC to work, I even installed the JSGME and activated the mods with it but still isn't doing jack shit.

End your sad life

get back in the stream

Come on, user. I asked a simple question. I found the artifact just fine, I just wanted to know if it's normal that map quest markers don't exist.

>using JSGME at all
Bruh just copy the friggin gamedata

Yes

I don't get it, the mods have gamedata folders in them and I still have to put them in the CoC gamedata folder but if I do that it'll just try to overwrite.

Yeeeees?

First you need to create a separate mod folder if you're using JSGME. Copy the mods in that folder; your mods should look like 1, and in every mod folder there should only be one subfolder and that is gamedata (which again has subfolders like config and shit depending on the mod). Basically when you activate a mod you overwrite 2 which is the folder the mods get ported in when you activate them in the manager. Your gamedata folder (in the game directory) should always look like 3. As you can see in 4 the mods are activated, that means that the gamedata folder from a mod is copied over the gamedata folder in the directory of the game overwriting the "vanilla" game files with modded files.

If JSGME says there are conflicts with other mods already installed it might break the game, depends on the mod combination and files.

Fuck my gamedata folder doesn't have those, all this bullshit fucked everything up now I have to delete everything and start from scratch. Give me a full detailed guide without using that useless piece of shit JSGME to get the fucking addons to work.

>start new game
>literally 5 minutes after start military attacks rookie village
>loot corpses
>oh look what I found
Time to take revenge for all those deaths at the car park mission in previous playthroughs.

Don't worry if you're gamedata folder has something more or something less. The thing I meant is that there shouldn't be random shit in the gamedata folder like you've been putting there. What are you even modding? Call of Chernobyl?

Put any mods you downloaded in "gamedata" folder which is located in your game folder (if you dont have one, create it) and you're done. Basically, thats how it works with all the mods, but its almost impossible to revert the changes and identify "the game crashing mod". Thats the way to do it without the manager.

I'm saying it again, check out:

moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl/forum/thread/guide-how-to-manage-a-lot-of-mods-1414

Poor lonely clock floating in the middle of nowhere.

But I've always been doing that, I extract the mod into the gamedata folder but just left it at that. Am I supposed to take out the gamedata folder from the mod and put the mod's gamedata folder into the game's gamedata folder and overwrite?

Here is an example. This is doctormemes quest mod. When you open the gamedata folder of the mod (1) you see the config and scripts subfolders. If you copy the whole gamedata folder (of the mod) to the game directory of Call of Chernobyl, doctormemes files in configs and scripts will overwrite the files in the "vanilla" folder. Its pretty simple. There is a specific order when you install mods and some mods are not compatible. For example you cannot install two weapon mods together like STCOP and Arsenal Overhaul. Read the readmes of every mod. The basic install order for mods is:

weapon pack ---> textures ---> other mods.

So if I had STCoP, Structure redux and Docmeme quests I would install in that order in which I listed them.

I know about the mods needing to be in a certain order, I still don't get if you're saying if I should extract the whole mod into the gamedata folder or not or just its gamedata into the game's gamedata.

Gamedata folder of the mod overwrites the gamedata folder in the game directory.

This keeps happening, there's always 2 of the same damn folder.

How did you do that? All these folders: anims configs bla bla should be in Stalker - Call of Chernobyl - gamedata.

All I did was extract the mod into the gamedata folder

You need to put the files inside the AO.3.1 for Call of Chernobyl (v5) folder into the gamedata folder of the game.

The only legit way for the game to recognize mods is this

C:Stalkerwhatever/gamedata/textures;sounds:shaders;meshes:whatever

This will not work:
C:Stalkerwhatever/gamedata/Mymod(v1)/textures;sounds;shaders;meshes;whatever

I put those amis, config, ect files into the gamedata and the arsenal mod now works, should I just delete the folders with the mod names after I put the files into the gamedata?

I'm not sure that I understand. There should be no folder with a mod name in gamedata. Only folders like textures, config, meshes and shit.

When you extract a mod do you extract everything in it? I extract the entire thing into gamedata, am I supposed to look through the archive first to find the specific files I need instead and extract them only?

There are several ways depending on how the mod is packed

In some cases the mod will be like:

Mymod/gamedata/textures;shit

Then you take the whole gamedata folder and copy it over the gamedata folder in the game directory overwriting any shit it asks to copy over.

If the mod is packed like mod.rar into gamedata, same thing, take gamedata and copy

if the mod is like my mod/textures, shit, meshes. Then you take these subfolders and copy them INTO the gamedata folder of the game.

Thanks for recommending OGSE 0692. Very smooth so far. Guns feel good, haven't seen any bugs or crashes.
Before this I tried Zone of Alienation, I gave up before even getting out of Cordon because of the sheer amount of bugs and crashes.

DayZ?

Call of Pripyat

>See bloodsucker fighting pseudogiant in the middle of Army warehouses
>They instantly forget about their differences and attack me instead

Another day in the zone.

I've had maybe one or two crashes in the first and second lab (not counting Agroprom underground of course).
In case you can't get the first set of documents from the dead guy in the bathroom (lab X-16, Yantar) because of a crash when trying to access the body, reload your autosave and it should work fine. Had the same thing happening to me. Otherwise, OGSE 0692 (with some personal tweaks) is the best thing to ever happen to SoC. The menu with Beethoven's moonlight sonata alone makes it one of the best.
The original menu theme is good too but it just doesn't get me into this certain mood.

>perssonel
Retards

Do I have to avoid saving in Yantar?
I'm always paranoid about that because I don't know which versions have that save corruption.

Kill yourself autist weeb faggot

Thank you based OP!
>those terrible graphics
>that shit UI
That looks like some janky 0692 shit.

is there a way to move your followers in CoC? Took an escort mission and the fucking scientists just stand there and won't follow me

I absolutely had no problems saving in Yantar whatsoever. Quicksave, hardsave, autosave, reloading whatever save, not one single corruption except the one I mentioned in lab X-16, which seems to be somewhat standard.
One other thing I should mention: Saving Kruglov was kinda stupid, he just wouldn't move despite all the mercs being dead. If you encounter the same problem, walk towards the Yantar level changer, quicksave and reload. He will start walking towards you a few meters and stop again. Quicksave and load again all the way until he gets through the tunnel. Fucking annoying but it was the only thing that worked out for me.

...

CoC retard here, I finally got all the addons I want to work but now when I start a new game even though I didn't choose story mode I'm given the missions to talk to Sidorovich and turn off the brain scorcher, I think it might be because of the Doctor X questline mod.

Just ignore them if you don't want to do them.

>Doctor X questline mod
Mistakes have been made.

Thats normal. The way to know if Doctormemes questmod works is if you get the talk to X quest a the beginning of the game. For the loners (?) its Sidorovich, for the Mercs Dushman and so on. You get the quest to disable the brain scorcher anyway. If you're in story mode you would have some sort of "mysteries of the zone" questline.

As long as its normal and doesn't lock me out from anything until I have to do them I'll just ignore it.

What's so bad about it? I just want there to be more quests to do for people. Besides I don't want to restart everything all over again since it seems impossible to remove an addon.

People dislike the mod for some reason. Obviously its not the best mod ever but it adds more stuff to the game and it isn't really taking anything away from you. So I see it as a positive.

Don't respond to degenerates user

Reverts to the older task system where you can't see exactly what the person wants before accepting a quest, because memedoc doesn't feel like rewriting it for the new and significantly better system.

Old system: Hey duder, can you bring me a gun? Yes/No
Yes: Okay, I need an AS VAL, here's your quest.

New system: Hey duder, can you bring me an AS VAL? Yes/No
Yes: Okay, here's your quest.

I guess its just that mentality from /v/ where something popular means its shit.

Is OGSE just improved and extended SoC vanilla? No sandboxing?

>improved
Well...

I guess its just that mentality from reddit where something popular means its good.

Are snorks supposed to be people that got mutated? I fucking hate snorks how did they even come into existence from the zone?

That's exactly what you're supposed to do.

>improved
It has some retarded shit.
>eat before going to sleep
>sleep for 10 hours so it's morning
>game over: you died from hunger
You have to sleep for 5 hours, eat, then sleep 5 hours again.

Stalkin ain't easy.

I think I'd be a rich bastard recycling cans of food instead of being a dealer in the game.

Also, every time before you eat you have to double check the item's description. They randomly get irradiated and kill you if you don't notice it.

>randomly
Only when you get a high radiation dosis.

Canonically they were highly intelligent lab monkeys being developed in X-18 to be used for hazardous waste cleanup, in areas where it would be too dangerous to send soldiers. At some point in development GSC changed them from wearing hazmat suits to the gasmask soldier getup you see, I guess to make them scarier since a monkey thing hopping around wearing a trashbag suit would be more funny than scary.

>not eating his 'die it' sausage
A real stalker never wastes his food.

Do you guys recommend AtmosFear for the first CoP playthrough or just Absolute Nature?

Just AN, AF is a mess.

Thank you!
Anything for better weapon models?

Do you have any proof to back that up?

Not at the moment, all the weapon mods totally change game balance.

AF is good, but you'll probably want to disable the meme shit like chem fallout, rad fallout, psi storms, etc.

What about owr3

OWR3 changes weapon damage, so yes.

All means all. OWR has a ton of random shit in it, some of it not even related to weapons.

>OWR has a ton of random shit in it
Like?

Really terrible new assets for all the consumables. Some UI textures for god knows what reason. The most horrible arm textures I have ever had the misfortune of seeing.

Who cares? It's not like the vanilla game balance is sacred and perfect.
Arsenal is pretty good.

No.

>It's not like the vanilla game balance is sacred and perfect
YES IT IS FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING FUCKER

Are detectors supposed to be super rare in OGSE?
Sidorovich is even selling exoskeletons now, but I have yet to see even the simplest detector anywhere.
I'm sick of running into whirlpools.

>Really terrible new assets for all the consumables
U mean the icons?

Icons, models, and textures.
