To be fair basically everyone thought the Paladin hero was great, not just here - 20 health, 15 damage and a permanently upgraded hero power, sounded bretty good.

Expansion were released with 1 wing per week, so you had plenty of time to get that 700 gold during the week. Imagine if you stacked a bit before, there's literally no excuse to NOT buy wings with gold.

You realize that you are bellow the pity timer and so, aside from the first 10 packs, might not even see another legendary right? you need at the very least 3x more

No, the problem is that the meta has a deck with infinite value and a deck that just OTKs you. The DK is good value but value doesn't win you games in this meta.
