i played it in tardbringer, it was good with berserker / VP. I also tried it as champion / raider and those didn't work terribly well but i'm not the best theorycrafter. I will say that you need some sort of huge leech or way to massively regain life or defenses because the build is non physical and melee. DESU only version that might be HC viable was berserker but even then i nearly got obliterated by kitava.

I literally would not care. I dig shaders, would breath new life into old sets, and get me to buy new ones I wouldn't have before.

I'm just now looking to pick up Path of Exile, but I'm pretty confused on everything in general. I looked up a few builds and noticed that there's a ton of variations for each class, and then even more depending on which ascendancy you pick. I also noticed that they vary depending on how wealthy you are. Rather than investing a ton of time into something that's not going to get me far, I'd like to just start with something good, and then go from there.

VP and instant-leech in general needs to die for them to balance the game at all. Spike damage is anti-fun and is the only real threat in this game thanks to Vaal Pact, Atziri Gloves, and the Zerphi's thing.
