Newfriend here I have Xenoverse 2, but haven't played since launch. Is it worth going back to? (I'd probably make a new character) Any the DLC's worth? I'm not much for the MP side of it actually, so it being dead or alive is w/e.
Should I start from scratch and play XV1 instead?

If you haven't played XV1, maybe play through to see the story. It's not necessary though. Biggest difference is that in XV2 you'll be stuck with a generic hero instead of one you made in XV1.
If you're not worried about MP, sure, play XV2. it's a decent enough game. Might feel samey storywise, but the gameplay is improved a lot.
If you don't care about story or porting over your XV1 hero, then skip 1 and just play 2.

Game's alright for the most part, Handy Canon is a bit on the abusable side but its not as bad as Aura Slide at least- the new characters are pretty fun except Buuhan but maybe I just don't like him all that much or he's shit.
