the problem with the "pop your own stuff" argument is that this card is really fucking shitty if you pop something that doesn't have last words, which makes it bricky unless your playing a dedicated last words deck
with soul conversion, almost any target is good enough since the pay off of drawing 2 cards by itself is worth it (even killing something like your own eachtar can be worth it to draw 2 cards in rare situations), but with this the pay off is just a shitty zombie
maybe shadow will get some good last words this set that makes such a deck possible, but right now i just don't see it

It was 3pp. That meant you had to curve, you had to lay a sacc target in that curve because the only ghost generation was a meme that didn't work with the combined pp costs, then you needed to not only be ahead but also not get mauled by the 3pp 4 dmg spells that were common and then it died to whatever their t4 evo was anyway leaving a 4/1 that for the most part most people didn't have an efficient answer that they actually ran.

The new spell had the potential to run away but unfortunately, they're losing soul conversion, skull beast, atomy and andrealphus isn't all that good so there's no real way to keep compensating for losing hand advantage without having a garbage list
