Has anyone built one of the new moon mining structures? Is it really just a way to create an asteroid belt? No passive mining? Also... is it worth it? How many minerals does it bring up?

But dropping personal stuff sucks. How about they drop corp hangars of owner and all corps that have an office there.

You invest in an office - you be there to defend it, no more get out of jail free cards.
Ideally once it gets reinforced (which could happen at any time starting January) corp hangar items are stuck and can no longer be pulled out or are very limited in how many can you get (so you can maybe save a couple most valuable things but 99% of everything else is loot unless you defend it).

This is way too easy to circumvent. Just drag everything into a holding alt's private inventory when the citadel becomes vulnerable. Or only drag things in corp hangar when you need them.
It would just add some tedium.

But let's assume there's a nice fix for that problem , there is still the small issue that you would literally not be able to defend your fucking citadel because the alliance's ships are in the goddamn hangar and stuck.

Still, January changes are a step in the right direction with cit sieges being less of an investment.
After that all we need is more incentive to actually do it, so hopefully CCP will look into getting it done soon.

That's not the point.
Citadels can never replace stations if personal asset safety isn't 100% secure.
I want to see people lose their shit as much as you do, it's just two conflicting ideas that have to be resolved somehow.

That's why corp hangars not partaking in asset safety seemed clever if not for its obvious flaws.
You could choose what's safe and what's not with mechanics trying to push you towards risking more for better rewards (using personal hangar less and "risky" hangars more).

Another alternative is to introduce two personal/corp hangars, one safe with limited m3 space, and another one with unlimited space and zero asset safety; those safe m3 counts could even vary depending on cit size/sec/sov upgrades/whatever.

Citadels are supposed to replace POSes you fucking knob, not NPC stations.

And guess what, POS corp and hangar arrays dropped ALL their shit on destruction, minus loot fairy's share.

Once stargates come citadels are the only structures around.

Yes I'm sure they'll turn Jita 4-4 into a citadel user.

Tbh I doubt they'll completely remove NPC market, but they will probably tax the shit out of it (15-20% sales tax) to drive people out into cits.
Stations are gonna stay but cits are meant to take over most of their roles. They are already past the replacing POS part and digging deep into station territory.

They already increased NPC market taxes once, and wanted to do increase it some more. Then in typical CCP fashion they forgot all about this and went on to half-ass the next feature.

Perimeter jew citadels sure didn't forget to increase their tax.

-5% Battlecruisers

Large fleets being spread in space and among various angles isn't bypassing tracking, it is beating tracking at its own game and there's nothing wrong with that.
Wrecking shots bypass tracking altogether, this is unacceptable with large fleet sizes for various reasons.
