Tokuda was just a MH player. He thought Rathalos could do better when he played the first titles, so he worked hard and manage to land a spot in capcom, leading to the redesign we saw in Tri.
I literally mean in the big boss fight when you get to the point where the Proof of a Hero song plays. Story has quite literally nothing to do with it.
I think you can get by combining sleep herb and parashroom
Lucas Murphy
That's the poison pool somewhere down in Rotten Vale.
Noah Davis
If you're asking about the word for it, I guess you'd call it a cove, or something...? Maybe a grotto?
Isaac Price
>What are these type of areas called? The area were the monsters never fight.
Joshua Myers
Anyone else here played this version online?
Angel Morales
Wait you can use the capture net on the ants? My life has been a fucking lie
Juan Parker
*where
Cameron Jackson
Lances are what's hot now.
Elijah Barnes
Yeah but the first two Lost Planet games had fun stories and MHW seems reminiscent of that.
Besides it's obvious they're putting more effort into it than they would ever bother with SF or MVC. Fighting games never have good stories anyway. Except Guilty Gear.
There's more out there than just doujins and JP porn, user.
Sebastian Lewis
Lance is boring Gunlance us cooler
Cameron Hughes
Oh damn the beta just got more interesting. Thanks anons.
Jason Gonzalez
That's why lances was plural dumb slutposter both are in for a huge revival.
Chase Allen
SO HERE I AM DOING EVERYTHING I CAN
Noah Foster
Oh, for sure. (And thank god for that.)
Was just teasing about your "never censored" statement.
Brandon Parker
mh4u newfag here, should i be doing normal quests, expeditions or gathering hall quests?
Jeremiah Wood
t.never tasted the tri lance
Leo Cruz
Handler butt.
Robert Anderson
I love you.
Zachary Foster
Yes
Luke Gomez
Normal quests. Don't bother with expeditions until endgame.
Charles Anderson
You should be doing every single quest. What you'd likely want to do is caravan quests then level up your hr in tandem with that so you get better gear for doing the gathering hall quests.
Lucas Thomas
Caravan quests are single player, you need to do those to unlock a bunch of shit you need. Guild hall is multiplayer, it unlocks some stuff at the trader and kitchen and eventually has some monsters you don't fight at all in Caravan. G-Rank is Guild Hall only but worry about getting through LR and HR first in both Caravan and Guild Hall Expeditions are just free hunts on random maps, there's some materials that are more common there like Heavenly Crystals. It's also a good way to farm Caravan Points.
Julian Brown
what about the gathering hall?
Luis Rodriguez
>decide to replay a game >early game equipment that need uncommon bugs reeeeeee
Dylan Reyes
Gathering Hall quests are online quests meant to be done with a party. You can solo them but the enemies will be damage sponges. Stick with the normal quests for now.
Jose Hill
Anyone want to play FU? Haven't played in a few years
can't get into 4U
Eli Foster
Wait, how do you charge the shield while in sword form? Has that always been a thing?
Oliver Watson
From shield thrust you can go into the lvl 3 elemental and then cancel out to charge the shield Pretty sure you could always do that, i never used it though cos i spent 90% of my time in axe mode in Generations
Cooper Foster
Hm, had no idea, thanks.
Cameron Foster
Yeah I've gotten so immune to JP censorship that I forgot about it when saying that anyway.
Caleb Rogers
you could always do it, but in X/XX it only gave yellow shield
David Evans
you lost the ability to AED from sword mode in Generations, and quick-dialing in Generations resulted in a weaker shield charge, so the move was really never used unless you had an extreme surplus of phials and very little time to charge. World CB is more akin to 4U CB though, so you can do a lot of stuff from Sword Mode very quickly, like charge your shield.
Ryder Brown
Yeah my bad you're right I never used it anyway
Matthew Parker
Ah, makes sense, I didn't really get around to charge blade til gen so I probably saw "Yellow shield" and wrote it off completely.
Jace Sanders
I tried it in the beta and it seemed kind of boring desu, maybe I'm not using it right It just seems like the best thing to do with it is to switch to sword mode at the earliest opportunity, mash a combo until you're about to run out, do an amped discharge, then swing with the axe until you can switch back
Matthew Morris
New player here, why do pro speedrunners not go for the head? Does it not matter from a DPS perspective? Also, I see a lot of weapons being able to cut off the tail and take off monster horns so why are sword players so adamant in their role of taking off tails? Even bows and lances can do it.
Elijah Reed
I wouldn't say earliest opportunity, you want full sword bar, but yeah that's about right.
Zero Sum Discharge is really cool, can't wait. SwAxe has always been my favorite.
Alexander White
Can you kill Kelbis in world?
Gavin Cooper
Swords as in long swords? Because they have huge reach which also means they'll hit you too. If a LS calls tail I just let him be and go elsewhere. Everyone wins that way assuming he actually cuts
Xavier Rogers
Head is not always the weakest hit zone.
Cooper Myers
Huntress post
Colton King
the head is not often the weakest cutting hitzone
Liam Phillips
The head isn't always the weak point, especially in the case of cutting and gunner weapons As you can imagine, Diablos has a very hard head
Benjamin Nguyen
...
Charles Miller
The head is not necessarily always the weakspot, let alone the best. If you were hunting say Teostra, plenty of weapons won't bother with the head most of the time since standing in front of him is generally asking for trouble, and it's better to chip away at the legs.
Christopher Morris
in addition, there are incentives for attacking and breaking certain parts, depending on the monster. for example, hitting the legs will eventually trip the monster for several seconds.
Charles Garcia
Some monsters like Teostra have weakspots elsewhere I think Teo's head IS slightly weaker than its hind legs, but because its harder to hit its not worth it, hind legs get highest dps
Levi Long
>chip away at a 45 zone
Josiah Sullivan
Honestly speaking, whats the best type of story they could go for in MHW?
Lincoln Jones
Nonexistent
Elijah Ortiz
>there's some shit happening with the monsters >kill them till you find out whats causing it >kill whatevers causing it
Ethan Jenkins
The Handler dying in your arms.
Juan Adams
45 is enough to trigger stuff like Weakness Exploit. The legs are also infinitely safer than trying to hit Teostra in the face, considering if you're at the head all he has to do to chunk you for half your HP is take a step forward. Legs win out.
William Taylor
"please go grab shrooms" "oh wait that's the flagship" "you saved us"
Colton King
More like 55 most of the time. But point is it's more safer even for a Hammer to consistently hit the legs when GS can go for a consistent stagger on the head and eventually get a KO from Punishing Draw
Caleb Hernandez
The only fight I can think of where it's a fucking pain for LS to get the tail is Brachy, just because he moves around so much and he's pretty tall.
And Glaive Anus for those same reasons since you can only cut his tail when it's heated up
Liam Gonzalez
Yeah, that's my point, you don't "chip away" at a fucking weakspot.
Nolan Turner
Nothing too convoluted and clear.
Aaron Butler
some arc about the elder crossing being an important event in the safety of the world, and interfering with the crossing triggers an apocalypse that the hunters have to then stop by using the power of love
Brandon Flores
Glaveanus is easy to knock over though thanks to the heated throat, and its tail takes very little damage to cut.
Justin Nelson
>I see a lot of weapons being able to cut off the tail and take off monster horns most breakable parts aren't damage type exclusive, but tails always need cutting damage to come off. The exceptions to these are barroth, whose head only breaks with impact damage, and duramboros, whose tail comes off with any type of damage Also, once upon a time, some monsters needed a specific element to break their parts >so why are sword players so adamant in their role of taking off tails? Even bows and lances can do it. long reaching slashing weapons are much more efficient at tail cutting, as it's hard to be that precise with a lance Before World, Bow had little to zero cutting potential, and bowguns never even got slicing shots until third gen
Nathan Foster
>Try out Sword and Shield and Hunting Horn since they were my go-to in 3U >Roommate gives disapproving glares.
Fuck him though, he's the trip machine Longsworder.
Jonathan Gray
doesn't help that SnS has absolutely no armor outside of the new gimmick attacks.
Mason Powell
SnS is a consistently okay weapon though
Jason Williams
the same thing they've been doing. This
Luis Perry
I don't think he was looking that far into it. Plus, you don't need armor if you never get hit. Or do you mean armor skills?
Armor as in Super Armor; the ability to be hit by an ally during your animations and not be interrupted. SnS has none of it in World outside of the Charged Backhop and associated followups. In previous games, you get 2 seconds of armor following your X+A rush-in attack, but afaik that's gone in World. Makes playing online really frustrating with SnS.
Dominic Garcia
>y use lance wen u can uuse lance wif gun haha bang bang
Asher Ortiz
>getting this angry over people having opinions I would post a wojak, but unfortunately I don't save shitty /v/ memes.
Angel Carter
>notice Shepard has been streaming a lot >turns out he ran a stream where he'd let people hunt with him if they give him money
Whelp
Oliver Harris
It's still there, though the unsheathe attack changed.
Logan Gonzalez
it's a really shitty opinion though
Jace Price
Ah, thanks for the clarification. Whatever, my getting peeved at Longswords and Switch Axes is nothing new, and maybe I'll be able to just focus on tailcutting now that I can mount things instead of being a status slave.
Or I could be petty and go a-hammering.
Daniel Gonzalez
>mfw its 2007 again
Aaron Gray
>you get 2 seconds of armor following your X+A rush-in attack, but afaik that's gone in World. We back to gen1 difficulty and hardcore gameplay.
William Price
people are actually this desperate?
Matthew Watson
What is this? I need to know from where this is came from.
Jonathan Taylor
It's just the world we live in I guess. I'd expect this behavior from Icemancuck or something but not Shepard
Oliver Johnson
Seconded
Thomas Clark
What are some of the better HBG/LBG sets for general use in MHG?
Grayson Williams
>Hunters are exploring the new island (continent?) >"Wow, life here is so beautiful" >Oh no, maybe it isn't because >there's some EVIL UGLY NATURE THING HERE EATING ALL OF THE PRETTY GOOD NATURE THINGS >Hunter and characters have dilemmas about letting it be since in the end it's all just nature. If it's disruptive to other ecosystems it should be overlooked just cause in the bigger scheme of things, it's just nature at work as it usually is. >Wait a second >This EVIL NATURE THING is from SPACE, so it doesn't count >Slay it >The end
James Ward
>uhm sweaty, that's not our target
I fucking hope this bitch shuts the fuck up after the first quest
Chase Allen
>not using Monster Hunter language
Brandon Brown
>not using literally anything but your first language I want to not be able to understand a fucking word
