Here is some info(s) about Farewell. Lots of things may sound familiar to you but back then they were just rumours, but now some of them got certain. This ll only explaining how story will evolve between them.

There is a reason why this game called "Farewell" but not for the reason you think. We won't lose William nor see Max's moving in other city etc. Farewell term is actually stands for developer's hinting at you something,like like.. playing as Max for the last time -yet you MAY NOT see Max and Chloe for the last time ;)

I need to say this first, episode isn't empty and there are many stuff to do. There will be many side games/puzzles which you will be able to play with Chloe, so story doesn't only include their sitting on couch and reading their letters to each other or only seeing dialogues between them. Imagine Tlou's left behind DLC, (not its ending tho :D) there will be many games (dare,hide and seek/ hiding in closet, pirates) you can play with /stuff to do with Chloe which you can fail or win... since it will be depenant to yor choices, and there will be many adorable variants

Episode itself aren't that short either; its lenght won't be that short, it will be like 1h+ Again, there will be many comfy stuff to do.

Yesss, they will dress like a pirate (remember the pirate photo you saw in Max's room in ep1) you will see them like that.

I told you that it got certain that this game will be all prior to tragic events. As you know, William's alive so is Bongo and you will get chance to see them. Even Joyce -both of them will show up closer to the ending adon't worry episode will be comfy

This is not spoiler but it is a rumour so;

There is a little possibility that Daughter will make cover of Jonathan Morali's Max & Chloe song for this episode. Don't get all whoosh on me yet, this is not certain but I have heard that they are keeping it in mind.

I don't see too much of a problem of her questioning him in her mind because nothing results from it. It's a thought Chloe has but then it leaves as quickly as it entered. Seeing how much shit is going on with Rachel's parents makes sense that it would make Chloe think of her own parents. William was still undoubtedly a good man and father.

I think after BtS I'm way more warm and open to the idea of a brand new cast and a fresh setting for LiS2.

They could even set it on "Earth 2" or something where LiS and BtS never happened.

I just want a game that every aspect of it is fleshed out equally and has a solid writing from the start to the end.

Wasn't D9 a new studio who wanted to make a name for themselves? Well, they did. Now after Farewell they should fuck off to other projects and leave the franchise alone.

Not saying DONTNOD is necessarily any better of course, but it's better to have the title be trusted to a single studio.

I hope Square Enix (They hold the rights, right?) thinks something along these lines as well.

It sickens me to think that some people here rejoice over what we know happened to Rachel, knowing the unbelievable amount of pain that it caused Chloe.

I can almost understand people being that pissed at Rachel for doing something so shitty, but how anyone can joke about it when it basically destroyed what little life Chloe had left in her hurts me on a level that a video game shouldn't be allowed to.

Nobody here does that unless they're trolling and trying to stir shit. Nearly everyone has always acknowledged how important Rachel was to Chloe and how she helped her through a rough time.
A bad ending to that relationship doesn't change that effect Rachel had on Chloe's life in that time.

Real talk: Pricefield posts are not (and were never) anti-Rachel. No more than Amberprice posts are anti-Max. Make of that what you will.

The whole episode was just hogwash, since they ruined endings it also affected the course of the story; Sera's plot was deeper than as we thought as I mentioned earlier, they didn't give enough screentime for other characters neither other than showing them ONLY in ending. Credits scene also, came from out of nowhere and added later.

I can't give guarentee about Farewell stuff will not change either, but I can only inform you about what is their intention.

The Dark Room bit doesn't even make sense in a majority of BtS's endings - particularly the Truth ending with mellow Nathan

Deck 9 should have been writing Season 2, and then Dontnod should have been working on Season 3.
Basically, this prequel was a mistake, and the best we can hope for is that S2 learns from BtS and takes a crucial lesson from it, like BtS took 'don't make your endings actually erase the events of the game' from LiS.

Of course Max will treat her right.

I remember when I was playing the original game, I so badly wanted Max to make Chloe forget about Rachel. Every time she mentioned Rachel off hand, it hurt. But I told myself that Max could be everything to her that Rachel was and more, and because of that, everything would be okay in the Bae ending. Everything before that could be just a sad memory, a part of the past that Chloe could bury somewhere deep in the back of her mind and just...forget.

But now I see the way Chloe looks at Rachel every time they're together, and I know that is a lie.

It's just because episode 3 finally shut retconfags up. I don't believe Amberprice negates Pricefield or vice versa. I'm not happy about what happened to Rachel but I'm happy deck9 respected the story and stayed more or less within a reasonable limit of what was established in LiS. Chloe loved Rachel, that was always clear, but did Rachel reciprocate? That was an open question. Deck9 has shown she did, but they also showed that Rachel is flawed like any real person and that there is no perfect person that can fix Chloe. She has to do that herself.

When you think about it, Rachel chose Max to save Chloe. She gave Max a test and helped her through it at times. If Rachel has to do with the powers then what stopped her from giving them to Chloe? Chloe would have used them to try to save her father and certainly save Rachel when she learned the truth about what happened to her.
Perhaps Rachel realized she was no longer what Chloe needed. She made her own mistakes and paid for them heavily, she didn't want Chloe to meet the same kind of fate for doing something stupid. So she found the one person who could save Chloe, help her, and mature with her to be what she deserved.
