i think theyll both be healthy and both compete strongly against each other. theyre both going to be good games and both will be enjoyable to watch. i wonder if its possible for DBFZ to beat sfv as the headlining game. the gameplay will be the thing to determine that.

It is certainly a possibility, there is a lot of interest and it will be a great game to watch just for the visuals alone so will attract interest that way too. Being simple isn't an issue either as SFV is already very basic

The thing is that SFV and DBFZ are partly different crowds, capcom fanboys are loyal as they are stupid. They also will always deny another game can get popular, any evidence to the contrary doesn't count. DBFZ has to bring in new people, it has the capability and seems to be a pretty good starting point.

You would be absolutely right except for one thing: it's a team fighter a la marvel. And what that means for most casuals is "ugh, fucking ToD shitfest, I rather want xenoverse 3" it won't retain much of the casuals.
Still, I can be very fucking wrong and dbfz ends up the GOAT fightan that revitalizes the genre. Only time will tell.
At the end of the day though, we're getting a proper FG DBZ game again. That alone is enough for hype and celebration. Everything else is a cool bonus.
