Dota 2 General - /d2g/

I need help understanding the new ranking system. I was originally 1.3k mmr. Then I won 8 of 10 games, the 2 I lost I got stomped, the 8 I won I stomped, I had 4 games with more than 20 kills and less than 3 deaths, then I calibrated guardian 3, after 2 days I was at Archon 0, I rarely see anyone else near my rank in my games, it's always guardian and crusader, I was promoted to Archon 1 after a 13 games winspree but how am I supposed to climb when I get matches with and against people who are often more than a full rank below me? Surely beating them cant give me much mmr. I win more than half my games, and the ones I lose usually involves 0-16 roaming MK or safelane farming pudge on my team. I play either mid, or strong roamer to obliterate the enemy safelane. Halp

I just don't get it. Invoker is allowed to be good ever since he got Level 1 Invoke (in fact, he was buffed during the short time after 7.00 where he was bad). Earth Spirit only gets small nerfs despite still being a huge staple in tournaments.
Why is Meepo in particular not allowed to be good, or even pickable?

Meepo hasn't been good in literal years though. WW has singlehandedly kept him out of every pro meta since her release, and he's total dogshit in pubs unless you're literally smurfing.

Meepo is just bad.
His talents are total dogshit and were only passable in 7.07a. He's the hero hurting the most from the addition of talents because the ability to have +20 all stats spread over 5 bodies early was amazing compared to 1 sec poof cd or a marginal HP bonus.
Other heroes also have much more massive powerspikes (and a better power curve in general) than Meepo now, and even with Meepo's accelerated farming speed other heroes can handily keep up with his powerlevel while also not posing a detriment to their team's farm.

If Meepo is ahead by 10 levels and has 800 GPM he's still behind most carries in power. That's the problem.

Post some offlane duos that can somehow compete against enemy trilane of carry + supp + supp.

Viper + veno is very annoying but less practical as the game progresses. We also like to pick SK+Lina or Slard+Lesh, any double stuns really. Anything else you got ?

Shaman and Treant is works pretty well, Lich + Any strong offlane hero owns trilanes, Undying + a strong laner like spirit breaker also very strong. Ogre too is good support for offlane

Icefrog balances the hero around players like Jerax, Earth Spirit is only decent if you're one of the best in the world with him

earth spirit can push and pull heroes and has a very long range low cooldown mobility spell and an ultimate that can apply silence/slow in an aoe

Just go offlane with a gorillion clarities and deny more creeps than Lich. There's literally nothing the enemy safelane can do to stop you from doing this other than towerdiving you or having some early pusher heroes than can ruin the tower right away.
