Pure and utter suffering.

Gunslinger Dragon is such a fucking fun build to play

why did they take off the ADHD fire control macro download off the evilC page

does anyone have a working link?

Merry Yiffmas dudes!

PROTECT ME!

>You don't just take the QP stuffers and make more fun and money in QP instead of FP torment

Remember you get 25 stuffers for playing the 27th too.

I already have 100 QP stuffers.

Now I'm stuck doing the FP ones up until I have 75.

Oh fuck. This has never fucking happened before.

what do

Do your 38, unless you're not counting the 25 you get for the 27th, and in that case, do your 25 FP games.

I figured 250 faction score would be easy, id been doing 1k damage in quick play, but they seem to severly downscale score so its like 1/5 of normal. How the fuck do you get 250

2 ERPPCs and be the meta build.

Your match score is greatly affected by the number of mechs you use from your drop deck as well as damage. If you use all 4 of your mechs, you need to be doing closer to 1800 damage to get your 250.

In terms of scouting, it's pretty difficult. You're going to want to be clans since IS mechs are bulkier and offer more damage (which translates to higher MS) for shooting them, but the flipside is that IS usually wins scouting matches because the Bushwacker > Huntsman. Getting 15 250ms Scouting matches for Tharkkad was a nightmare, I can't imagine doing it again for 38~ matches.

>genuinely tempted to risk the RU Steam Assault pack so I can buy a DeathStrike
Has anyone actually done the RU steam packs?

Yep, it works.

pls post picture of steam mechs in your hangar

No. Don't you trust me?

I don't trust anyone, but I can't imagine anyone but Greg paying full price for a fucking Zeus so that'd be enough proof to satisfy me.

I thought the Deathstrike deal was already over?

No, they fucked it up and it's been fixed now. It's running for another 2 days (I think it ends exactly as the 27th's login bonus comes into play, so you won't be able to use the free MC to buy it)

he ALWAYS does stupid retard shit

Speaking of stupid shit

I was so mad that the other Kit Fox was capping.

Given the team, it wouldn't have mattered.

J U S T

I thought mechwarrior online was one of those games you threw out with the bathwater.

Yet here you are.

Easy Terra/City Dom.

Why doesn't Domination game mode involve ballgags and safewords?

why the fuck is stocking stuffer giving me so much MC, in 10 bags I have more MC than I ever got from 100 bags before

If you could design a theme for new maps, what themes would you make?

Urban, Urban, and more urban.

I want giant city maps, with skyscrapers, parks, highways, fountains, bridges, etc.

Rainbow Unicorn map from Diablo 3
Enclosed cavern system (there would be ceilings in every 'room' and passageway)
Inside of a very large starship of some kind.
On a starship of some kind (JJs might get you killed if you JJ off of the ship)

Volcano surrounded by snow, center is hot, outer center is normal, outer is cold. Flooded map where you can put your mech completely into the water.

>Flooded map where you can put your mech completely into the water.

no

>Flooded map where you can put your mech completely into the water.
Only if after a certain depth it slows you down considerably. Like waist high on a mech.

>mech bays are no longer on sale

MechWarrior 3 was the last MW game to have water deeper than ankle height. It was also the best MechWarrior.

WHY DONT CARS BLOW UP WHEN I PEW PEW THEM? WHY DONT THEY CRUNCH FLAT WHEN I STEP ON THEM?

FUCK THIS GAME.

Also, post the minor details you'd like to see in MWO

running people like in a Godzilla movie.
People in the buildings watching you walk past.
Little kids waving as your mech strides by.

You have to wait until MW5 for that.

Why the hell are Clan 55tonners banned from Scouting when the Bushwacker exists?

Because with Strongcrows, clans had a 90% winrate in scouting.

It wouldn't go back to 90% if they were added back in.

living legends had underwater portions of maps and they were super cancerous

Clans already have over a 50% win rate.

Not according to the Tharkad stats.

>got a physical copy of Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries despite that it was last second whim on a wishlist
this has been a good christmas lads
merry fuckin christmas

ded robots

>buy new Mech
>fun for a few games
>play enough to see why I hate it
>go back to BushRACker X2 and end up having more fun and better performance
This has happened literally five times this month, doesn't matter the Mech or the weight class, be it a Hero Kit Fox, Hero Huntsman, Shadow Cat, Night Gyr, even a fucking Marauder IIC (which I'll admit, is probably better than the Bushwacker).

Why the fuck can't I find another Mech that I enjoy? Is Bushwacker going to be my Mech-fu forever? Will any other Mech scratch this itch, or am I stuck with 2x RAC5, 3x AC5 and 2x AC10 for the rest of this game's life span?

No user. Ballistics are bad and you should feel bad. Anything besides lasers is literal dogshit. Ballistics are a fucking meme. They weigh so much and they even make you carry ammo. Missiles are not much better either. Honestly if I ever see anyone using ballistics or missiles on my team I simply core them out from behind. They are literally a waste of space and are probably just going to get in the way of my laser beams too (which I have never once in my life missed with, by the way)

>tell pugs enemies will be in one spot
>tell them to use high ground and just shoot at them
>american late night niggers and australians who just got done servicing their soulless chink and mozlem masters instead decide to give up high ground and run into the enemies firing line

pug lyfe

>coldest, highest DPS and DPH weapons are a meme
Ok.

In pre-clan era i used to have lots of Catapults. Like - one to every build i'd like. And i tried other mechs but nothing gave me such fun.
So i feel you. And i really thing that's nothing wrong with having a mech-fu.

how can you not see obvious fucking sarcasm

Tell me about your builds because I'm new, love autocannons and Bushwacker looks cool, as in, the model is great. And everybody talks about how OP it is. Are RACs as bad as people tell they are? I like the idea of rapid fire autocannons but I understand you can't peek as effectively with them because you need to sustain fire?

>Are RACs as bad as people tell they are?

They're in a weird spot. They can pump out a lot of damage, but it takes time for them to do so, and people will generally start torso twisting in order to spread that damage around.

But they also have an element of self control to them, meaning you can't just "hold down trigger and fire forever" with them all the time. They actually reward you by playing conservatively with them until you can afford to just fire continuously.

Due to your ability to control just how much damage they pump out, they're surprisingly well suited for peeking. You can let them fire as long as a standard large laser, dealing just 10 damage, or if the opportunity presents itself you can dish out 4-5x that.

Racs are fun but they are pretty shit vs. good players, who will just twist the damage then take you apart since they know you dont have the heat to fight back at that point.

>tell pugs where the bad guys are and what they are doing
>tell them if they go to this particular spot they can shoot them and defend easily
>tell them if they keep doing what they are doing, they are going to get corralled and taken apart without being able to fight back
>provide perfect intel, targeting data, and even distract a couple hundred tons worth of enemy mechs

>pugs march to their doom and get shitstomped 1-12 anyways
>explain why this happened and what they can do to improve next time
>as it turns out, the pugs do have mics after all!
>"you don't need to be so toxic we are trying our best"
>"yeah stop bitching so much its just a game"
>"you died too idiot so much for your good advice"

>Tell me about your Bushwacker build because I'm new
I run 2 RAC5s on an X2 with an LFE 265. Before the Civil War I ran 3x AC5 on an XL, but 2x RAC5 + LFE is just so much better in every regard. I am toying around with 3x RAC2 on the X1, but it's 4 tons heavier and only has 17.5 DPS instead of 22, which matters a lot on a weapon that desperately needs the DPS to justify the face time.

>Are RACs as bad as people tell they are?
RACs are one of the best weapons in the game for Mechs built to facetank with their fish-face profile, which is basically only the Bushwacker and IS Marauder. You have to play in a way that limits exposure and maximizes DPS versus targets out of position, typically by picking on people on the outer edges of firing lines.

I've mocked up a diagram that more or less describes what you need to do to make RACs work, not because I needed to, but because it brought me great happiness to create such fine art.

That's beautiful, thanks. Speaking of Marauder, I understand it has ballistic-ish variants too? How does that work?

The same, except all the RACs fit into one side so you have a true dead side to shield with. However, it's a bit larger and any backup lasers are in the arms instead of the CT.

It can has RACs too? Huh, I thought Clans only got UACs and RACs were the IS "AC++" design. For some reason I thought you had to use Clan tech on Clan mechs and IS tech on IS mechs, which I guess is dumb.

The fuck are you on about?

Marauder is the 75 ton inner sphere mech. RACs are inner sphere tech. MAD-5M and MAD-3R can do 2xRAC5's with deadside shielding capability.

The mech pictured in is the Timber Wolf, also known to some as the Mad Cat. THAT is a clan mech, unable to use RACs.

The IS has a Marauder (75t Heavy Mech),
the Clans have the Marauder IIC (85t Assault Mech)
They look similar but are on different sides of the faction fence. A lot of Clan Mechs are "IIC" variants, or 2nd Generation Clan versions of old IS technology.

Here's what I'd probably run on an IS RAC Marauder:
mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=345&l=cb8e616e45c698aef058d875d644bdc2451c38a0

IMO it's a little underwhelming since the Bushwacker X2 does literally the exact same thing, just with one less ton of ammo and an LFE instead of the mandatory Standard.

Sorry, I made a mistake.

relax, iic isn't exactly intuitive

>FREE stuff in about 7 hours

I've just saw a tooltip that LRM max range includes the huge arch they make. So wait, what's their actual max range? Also I've seen people recommending using them at 400-600 meters.

If I link 2 UAC10 and 2UAC5, I won't get ghost heat, right?

For you average LRMboat? Probably about 800m. Anything further than 800m and you're wasting LRM ammo.
400-600m is a good range bracket, and I often go as close as 220-300. With IS you have to be really careful not to get under 200m since the min range is 180- clans have reduced damage under 180 but will still do a bit of damage.

>Anything further than 800m and you're wasting LRM ammo.
That probably explains why I wasn't doing SHIT when I tried the trial Stalker. I stood too far away. I feel bad for my teammates.

The problem with skirting max range with LRMs is twofold. The first is that in the time it takes them to travel 800m most people who aren't completely braindead will take cover. The second is that you are probably going to lose your lock in that time period too, so even if they don't take cover if they move at all your LRMs will rain down on empty terrain. If you're running the trial Stalker, try to stay with your team and aim to be no further away from a target than 500m.

I am enjoying a LRM40 5ml archer.

Sue me

Is Legend Killer even worth it? Looks like you have to seriously compromise to wield that quirked lb10 loadout.

That makes lots of sense. Any way to make my LRM group chain-fire while keeping the MLs firing simultaneously? Otherwise I'd have to spread LRMs to avoid ghost heat and press 2 buttons instead of one.

It's a fantastic damage dealer though.

The LBX spread quirk combined with the skill tree one makes them more akin to super-crit susceptible AC10's, and the cooldown reduction increase rate of fire akin to an AC5's.

It's extremely dangerous against cored out opponents.

Chainfire by default is Backspace. Put all the LRMs in the same group (either 1 or 2) and then hit backspace in a match while selecting that group. Once you've hit it once the game will remember it until you hit backspace again to disable chainfire. You'll know chainfire is on because the weapon group will have black squares that fade in and out in pulsing manner.

>tfw you actually try to shoot for cockpits and you find out its not all that hard

>he's been CTing Atlases this entire time up until now
holy...

Thanks, I tried playing close and did much better. Is Stalker considered a good mech? From the looks it has weird-ish hitboxes - side torsos are small and the central one is huge and protruding. But I dig the aesthetics.

>hit backspace in a match while selecting that group
Oh, I see, that makes sense, I should've tried before asking. Thanks.

The CT actually isn't that huge, the Stalker's profile lets it shield pretty effectively. Not a big concern for LRMs, but if you're running a deadside build it comes into play and it lends itself to a more survivable assault with torso twisting.
Green is arms, orange is front ST, blue is rear ST, purple is CT, and red is legs.

Oooh, so that's how it actually looks for those purposes, I had no idea. Yeah, that actually looks much better than I imagined.

So actual weapon ranges are calculated on the fly from the barrel of the weapon on the mech, to exactly where it lands on the enemy.

What this means is bullet/missile/ppc distance etc can all slightly vary depending on the shape and hardpoints of your mech as well as being a couple meters different from what your cockpit says the range is.

This is most evident with weapons that have minimum ranges, you often need another 5m or so.

As for lrms, they're a short-mid range weapon with a long range niche. Your best bet is to get your own locks and use them between 200 and 350m, because they travel slowly so that's the only sure way to land hits because most enemies aren't stupid enough to be too far from cover. Between 350-500m your shots will be very hit or miss.

Occasionally you'll see mechs running around out wide in the open and then range doesn't matter (except your max of 900 or so).

No ghostheat.

>This is most evident with weapons that have minimum ranges, you often need another 5m or so.

zeus arms add an extra 10m to minimum range due to how fucking long they are.

SRM/MRMs don't have a min range though.

You'll notice he's using rocketlaunchers.

Reminder: Rocket Launchers shouldn't have any minimum range at all, and should have been kept as is from the PTS.

Yeah, but the counterpoint I was making is that you use SRMs/MRMs on the Zeus so it's irrelevant. Hell, 10m closer is probably beneficial for SRM/MRM spread.
muh troll light backstabbing pls nerf PGI
