The tone gets a bit darker as he sees a female Control Room staff member and a male engineer discussing the situation.
The inquiry group is at the base of the mountain, awaiting the end of the blizzard to take a helicopter up to Chaldea. In addition, the new director and 50 of his "lackeys" will be arriving as well.
The engineer laments that the Mage's Association, having long thought nothing of Chaldea, are coming to take over and reap all the benefits now that they've realized it can be of use. He then states that perhaps it's not his place to get mad about it, but Olga wouldn't be happy about this.
The staff member points out that the engineer had always hated Olga, which the engineer affirms, saying that she was quick to yell at people, did poor work, and often made mistakes, but he had over time realized that she simply had more responsibility than she was ready for, and did well for how unqualified she was. The staff member replies that she ought to have been complete when she became the successor to the Animusphere family, and that insisted on having her rightful place as the new Director and the result was the sorry state they were in now. Chaldea was almost destroyed, and the Mage's Association's support was absolutely nessarary for it to rebuild.

"It's not a great situation, but if we want Chaldea to continue functioning we have no option other than accepting a new Director. If Olgamari was still alive she'd welcome him, rather than having to shut down."

At this point they notice the protagist, or he speaks up. They greet him, (as "Canidate interesting enough) and the engineer says he might join him in taking a walk.

The whole problem is rooted in translating 魔術 as magecraft. We wouldn't have this discussion if the ones translating Fate stuff used sorcery for 魔術. And no, you can't refer to it as magic because 魔法 is magic, and for that same reason you can't call it "Mage's" Association, because only a mage can use magic, while a magus/sorcerer uses magecraft/sorcery.

Finally, you can't translate 魔術協会 as Mage's Guild, because the word mage isn't in that phrase at all. For it to be called Mage's Association or Mage's Guild, then it should be 魔術師協会.

Darius is just some tertiary historical figure with no personality in Fate and his only relevant moment was clashing fists with Iskander in the opening. Mephisto is abandoned as well, fucking demon Mepihstopheles is a mere 3* and one of the weakest ones to add insult, he ocassionally shows up in the story and apparently knows about everything. Jekyll is so forgotten it hurts, I thought he would be this game's husbando...he's just a 3* with an interesting mechanic badly executed, could have been worth it if his Starweight remained the same even after transforming, making him the Berserker with the highest crit weight. Arjuna... he's cool I guess, still not relevant in the game and he is a poster boy, it's telling that I had to google to remember who was this game's archer.

Zhuge Liang is Waver because the whole thing is lazy-ass Zero fanservice. Remember that they still haven't even explained when or how the fuck the merger happened. There was no thought put into it. The only difference is Waver claims Zhuge's fixing his meek coward personality, so he doesn't do any of the amusing self-deprecating stuff either.

Ishtar is Ishtar but with the extreme stuff filed off by Rin's influence.

Parvati claims Sakura and her compliment each other so they end up as a more positive, outgoing version of themselves. She also claims they both help suppress their negative aspects and so there is no risk of Parvati shifting into her more violent aspects, but that sound like she might be bullshiting.

Jaguarman's consciousness is Jaguarman's, but the personality got 100% overwritten by Taiga's.

Muramasa is the only one where they didn't go the lazy fuck route and have him just act like a new character. Shirou seems to be lingering somewhere inside him and kind of annoying him by pulling him into actions that he normally wouldn't bother with.

Ushi wasn't wanked though.
